Re: Jab's Builds: Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black Talon, The Panthe

Despite your railing against the style, evidence would indicate your argument is groundless as Frozen is the most popular Disney animated feature...ever. The debate reminds me a bit of the gnashing of teeth the movie critics did when Star Wars was released in '77, which I saw opening day, having re...

Re: Jab's Builds: Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black Talon, The Panthe

I prefer the infodump to the hours of exposition, myself- it's the years of reading Claremont :). Frozen did the job of at least introducing the two leads and establishing their relationship and it's changes, even if nobody went in-depth into the parents' errors. I liked the thematic opening chorus...

Re: Jab's Builds: Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black Talon, The Panthe

Perhaps I'm a different target audience because I didn't feel like the opening of Frozen was too fast at all. It established a huge amount of backstory in a short amount of time, then moved on to the meat of the plot. ^_^ Frankly, it's what should happen in every single superhero movie. How much be...

Re: Jab's Builds: Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black Talon, The Panthe

My nieces and my nephew genuinely love Frozen. I think as proper adults we occasionally forget Disney (and Pixar) are making movies for kids and we judge them by adult standards. No theatrical release gets to use the "it's for kids" excuse. That barely works for Saturday morning cartoons. First, th...

Re: Jab's Builds: Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black Talon, The Panthe

I'm not saying that it's a "plot hole" that Elsa's parents went in completely the wrong direction. Bad parenting, particularly in making high-stakes decisions regarding a child's abilities, is the Most Plausible Thing Ever. That was some epic decision failure, though, completely ignoring what I felt...

Re: Jab's Builds: S. Beetle, PDF, Kulan Gath, Topaz, Black T

Netflix is sending Frozen to me for tomorrow. I'm so excited to get to finally watch it. It is a great movie. That said... The pacing in the beginning is SUPER rushed. Really turned me off at first. Remember the old days, when we could spend the first twenty minutes screwing around and establishing...

So, if Devlor has Vibraxas' Complications, does he get a Hero Point every time Vibraxas does?

Re: Jab's Builds: Geiger, Komodo, Cloud 9, M.V.P., K.I.A.

He honestly thought people woudl see Iron Man was right. As opposed to, yo u know, comic readers having historically bent left, and that side was led by CAPTAIN AMERICA. Uh, yeah, distrusting government regulation is actually not the left. It's pretty much the opposite, in fact. The "left" is openl...

Re: Jab's Builds: The Wiggums, Hank Scorpio, Sideshow Bob

I said to check the front page- I totally already did Midas, Hellcat, Gargoyle, Titanium Man and I think the Ani-Men :D . I can do the others, though (Woodgod and The Pantheon are actually on my new to-do list compiled from a list of Marvel characters). Wow. I looked on the first page and missed al...

Re: Jab's Builds: Jimbo, Marge, Patty, Selma, Skinner

Wow, to watch all those for the FIRST TIME seems crazy to this old man. The REALLY old people here, like Horsenhero and Thorpacolypse, must be REALLY amazed :). Yeah, in rural Kansas, access to cable TV channels used to be a bit difficult to come by, and if it's not something the head of the househ...

Re: Jab's Builds: Jimbo, Marge, Patty, Selma, Skinner

So, as I posted above, I'm starting to watch The Simpsons for the first time. The first few episodes were good, and I can see the potential... but episode 5, Bart the General, is where it starts to come alive for me. That was priceless. " General Patton was 'a little nuts.' This guy's completely out...

Re: Jab's Builds: Milhouse, Dr. Nick, Nelson, Bullies, Marg

I never really had the opportunity to get into The Simpsons in its prime, but these builds and the commentary are enough to make me give it a try.

I hope you're proud of yourself.

Re: Jab's Builds: Jetta, Senator, Larcen Tyler, Eternal Cham

Much as I love Disney in general, I loathe the Hercules movie. The fact that they use Hades as the villain in that specific way really gets under my skin. There are a lot of ways you could use almost any of the Greek gods as great villains without having to stretch, so WHY convert Hades from a cool ...

Re: Jab's Builds: Weapons, The Princess Bride- Inigo Montoya

There is a great scene in the book where, after years of training, Inigo goes to his uncle, demonstrates his skills, and asks eagerly if he's a master now. After some thought, his uncle tells Inigo that he is not now, nor will he ever be, a master. Then, as the start of heartbreak starts to show on ...
