It's a bit surprising that with superpowered people stretching continuously back into antiquity that this world ever developed democracy. It seems like a natural for systems where the most poweful Avatar in the realm ends up being acclaimed Monarch for life. Possibly an innate lack of tolerance for...

Re: JLU fans, let your voices be heard

Personally, I'm tired of CN screwing with this show. They'll move it, and pre-empt it, and its ratings will suffer and eventually, the executives will claim, "Well, we don't know why such a popular show began to sink in the ratings..." Not such an issue when they've already decided this will be the...

I got a real kick out of the last episode about Arachne with Athena's line:

But she made fun of my weaving!

Also, don't underestimate the possibility of a seemingly lame sounding name actually catching on over time. I am sure 'Batman,' 'Catwoman,' and 'Two-Face' would not have been as hip sounding today without tons of history with them. Maybe not "Two-Face", (a bit too Dick Tracy, perhaps) but I think t...

I thought Stark would be the one against registration and Cap would be for it. Are you saying it is the other way around? Cap has already shown in other comics he is against letting just anyone run around being a super hero. Stark has more to lose if people know he is Iron Man. Doesn't everyone alr...

I'd also have plenty of "it's a dream" clues. For instance nobody will be able to read text. They can identify symbols and read "signs" but a dreaming mind can't actually comprehend text (it's a fun but true fact). That's weird, I read stuff all of the time in my dreams. Including some books, not j...

Over on the Herogames board they have had a project looking at this subject. The idea is to get 10,000 names not in use by comics so no Batman or Spiderman etc. Currently around 9,450. Look in the Champions forum and look for a thread starter of Dynamo. I saw at least 3 right off the bat that WERE ...

Gee, you'd think that not being a Spanish speaking country would handicap Brazil's organised crime community in recruiting from all their Spanish speaking neighbours.

One thing to beware of is over-use of the Nazis. There were other things going on back then, in fact and in fiction. A very common pulp idea was something that we could see again in the 60s Avengers TV series, the criminal who has invented or stolen a novel way of killing people and uses it to persu...

File# A0776 (transcript of Television Broadcast aired 11/2/02) (debate between Doctor Morris Kaplan and Pastor Maxwell Cummins) <Kaplan> So you are actually contesting the fact that the emergence of these Alpha humans is evidence for proof of biological evolution? /End File I certainly would. I'm not so sure Overthrow really needs to have uniforms. The Freedom City setting book mentions they're really just a front for SHADOW to begin with. They're really supposed to be ordinary, "public" terrorists who attract all the attention while the agents of SHADOW and their uniformed soldiers plo...

One thing that's worth bearing in mind is that it is generally easier to start with a name and think of a concept to go with it, than it is to think of a concept and then try to think of a matching unfamiliar name to go with it. The first names that come to mind will almost inevitably be those of ch...

Well, you could have those man-ape crossbreeds from the Soviet Union make a break for it and steal a ship. Angry at the humans who bred and abused them, they make their way by becoming modern day pirates, raiding coastal towns and passing shipping for food and fuel.
