Anyone else in Limbo waiting for M&M 2e?

Postby Ultimate2099 » Mon Sep 12, 2005 1:53 pm

I convinced my RPG group to do a Superhero campaign this summer and set about trying to find the right rules. I settled on Mutants and Masterminds and then found out a new Rule Book was coming out and we've been waiting since. My GenCon contact failed to obtain a copy and my comic book store lady can't give me a release date because her distributors still don't know. Anyone else in Limbo waiting for this to dang book?

Then I gotta take time to learn the rules (since I've never played a Super Hero RPG before much less run one.) Then we'll have to spend the first session on character creation.

Sigh...

You can pick up a copy of M&M 1.0 on eBay fairly cheap right now. The rules are 75% compatable, so you can use the next 3 weeks to learn what you can, and then purchase the 2.0 edition when the book comes out in early October. Pick up a copy of Freedom City on eBay too. You won't be disappointed. :)

I'm a 1e owner, but in practice I'm still in the same place, since I'll need to convert the characters I started to make for my campaign, and make sure to be clear about where the changes are, in addition to reworking my character gen guidelines for the changes in 2e (it has a dispreportionate impact on my campaign because the characters are power heavy and light in skills and feats).

I'm in limbo because my new job is six days and week and 10 hours a day.

I'll be buying MnM as soon as I can to read it at lunch and before I collapse each night.

Of course, taht also requires free time...

Heck, I have the book, but still in limbo because our current campaign is close to a conclusion and half the group doesn't have books yet. I know, pity me. :?

You can always send yours to me, and I'll send it back when the flood of books uncorks.

I'm in the process of forming a group. I think all the people that I spoke to have been waiting for the 2 ed to be released before buying any of the books.

I'm sitting here waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting...

ya know,

I've been waiting for a M&M book since ohh... December of 2004.

I ordered it at this store called L.A. Mood and they said they'd call me once there was another print run. Well, in July 2005 I finally decided to call them back and see what's up. They were still waiting... but they also lost my name. *sigh* I put my name back in and I just called them a couple weeks ago to see if they had the books yet. Mind you, I didn't have internet for most of that time so I didn't have access to this sight to know what's going on. Now I know and can relax a little. At least I know its comming soon. :)

Well, I do have other plans for using my new book. Some of which I hope to post soon. 8)

oh man, as illogical as it sounds with my mom and I being displaced by the hurricane and our finacial futures up in the air... I do think about 2e a lot. I can't wait to see it. I can't wait to play it. I'm still pining away for it.

My most heart-felt sympathies to you and your family. I have several friends that are down there right now helping with cleanup.

I wish you all the best and hope that you can get on your feet soon.
