Check out this J-Mart Favorite that is hitting the shelves!

Leonard: Okay, now do you really need the Honorary Justice League of America membership card?
Sheldon: It's been in every wallet I've owned since I was five.
Leonard: Why?
Sheldon: It says, "Keep this on your person at all times". It's right here under Batman's signature.

Leonard Hofstadter: [wants Sheldon to leave because he has a date] Nevertheless I have one now, and I'd appreciate it if you'd, you know, make yourself scarce.
Sheldon Cooper: Leonard, I am a published theoretical physicist with two doctorates and an IQ which can't be accurately be measured by normal tests. How much scarcer could I be?

Sheldon Cooper: Your mother is brilliant, analytical, insightful - and I'm betting she never hit you with a Bible because you wouldn't eat your Brussels sprouts.
Leonard Hofstadter: Sheldon, you don't give your mother enough credit. She's warm, she's loving, she doesn't glue electrodes to your head to measure your brain waves while potty training.
Sheldon Cooper: You were lucky! When I was a kid, if I wanted an EEG, I had to attach my *own* electrodes.

Leonard Hofstadter: My point is, if you want to learn how to make friends, go to a coffee shop or a museum, meet people, talk to them and take an interest in their lives.
Sheldon Cooper: That's insane on the face of it.

Comments: BAZINGA!

Without a doubt, my favorite show right now is The Big Bang Theory. If you surf this board you are their target audience and if you’re not watching it, SHAME ON YOU. However, seeing as how it has moved into the top 15 shows consistently, I would say our geek people are represent-in’ and helping spread the joy of the geekdom to the mainstream world.

If you are not aware, the show is on CBS on Mondays at 8:30 central/9:30 eastern (I can never convert Western and Mountain times…) and it’s about two geek physicists named Leonard (Johnny Galecki, the best straight man on TV now that Kelsey Grammer is gone) and the above built Sheldon (the amazing Jim Parsons) and their hot, “doesn’t get the geek scene” neighbor Penny (the HOT, HOT, HOT Kaley Cuoco). They are usually joined by their friends Raj (Kunal Nayyar), who can only talk to women when he's drunk, and Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg, who in addition to his upcoming BBT statting might get a statting as Moist from Dr. Horrible’s Sing along Blog), their ultra horny, very Jewish friend that Raj, Sheldon and Leonard love to point out that is the only one of them that does not have his doctorate.

I will never do Sheldon’s personality justice so here is a link to Wikipedia where they cover it pretty well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheldon_Cooper

I laugh so freakin’ hard at the show, it’s pitiful. I The writers give him SUCH great stuff, it was impossible for me to narrow down quotes, but I did my best. As build, he would be a great NPC to have to have your characters deal with if they need an answer to a physics question. While he is brilliant, he has no social skill or ability to pick up on social interactions so he’s an easy bluff, but it’s going to take you a while to get an answer or even confirm that he’s giving you the right one while he is reminding you of how stupid you are compared to him.

The other members of the main cast are coming eventually.

Great build of Sheldon Cooper! Love that character.

I also like the Ares build you recently posted. Btw, did you see what Sentry did to him in Seige #2? I was shocked and awed, to say the least!

I've heard Superboy Prime...er, I mean, The Sentry did a bad, bad thing, but I am trying to avoid knowing the specifics until I get paid on Friday and get to the shop. I missed Siege 1 (and apparently they are not doing a second printing, those @#!$*@#*@$(#^) but I have Siege 2 on my pull list.

However, having read the past couple of issues of Dark Avengers and reading the signs on his character for a couple of years now, I have a pretty good idea. I've been calling his Prime-ish turn for a while.

But it's funny you should mention Ares, as I have a little something with him getting ready to hit the shelves in the next day or so.

Ooooh . . . I can hardly wait. The love-child of Gerard Butler's Leonidas and Jack Kirby's Thor is generally fun to watch (From a safe distance - the other side of the continent is recommended). 8)

Comments:This is Biis a Azrael and Batman enemy. He actually killed the first Azrael and had a really good first showing against Batman and Azrael. He is a shady arms dealer with access to a lot of weapons. He became Biis after he survived a helicopter crash and saw the Demon's face on the mountainside and took it as a sign that the demon saved him. Now if that is really true is anyone's guess. He use to have minions but lost all that after his one battle with Azrael. They all left him after he lost. The knowledge of the Order of St Dumas is a background skill that cost 1 point per 8 skill ranks and could stack with arcane lore in certain situations. He has a lot of equipment points which can also be used for hideouts where he keeps the arms he sells. I also used the cape rules from Batgirl. After his first couple showings he became Azraels whipping boy and is actually afraid of him. Still can be dangerous though.

As mentioned earlier.

Testing, testing, this is only a test...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ares was depressed.

And bored, bored, bored…

He sat sullenly in his New York apartment as he had for days, drinking mead and lamenting his current state.

His son sees Nick Fury as more of a father than him.

His role on the was Avengers taken away once Captain America came back and Fury was back in power.

He continually failed to gain favor with his father Zeus over his loathed half-brother Hercules.

He’s seen as too much of a hero to be called on by villains.

He’s seen as too much of a villain to be called on by heroes.

So he sits.

Alone.

Bored.

And growing more drunk by the hour…

After days of sitting in silence, ignoring the phone and the outside world in general, he finally decided to turn on the TV. Then, as he flipped through channel after channel of pitiful mortal foolishness, a red and blue clad bolt of inspiration hit him like Zeus’ lightning.

He watched intently as CNN showed footage from Metropolis where Superman did battle with a giant monster in the middle of Metropolis. He leaned forward in his seat as he watched the Man of Steel dodge the monster’s clumsy swipes to the roar of the crowd that should have long cleared the area, but seemed to have little fear that their champion would defeat the menace and keep them from harm.
A smile crossed his face as Superman landed a powerful uppercut that staggered the beast.

He found himself cheering along with the Metropolis faithful as a flying double ax-handle smash sent the monster into dreamland. As Superman floated to the ground and waved to the crowd as the Science Police and Damage Control moved in to contain the beast and clean up the scene, he rose from his chair, beaming with renewed vigor.

He laughed a loud laugh of joy and relief, for the sight of the Man of Steel’s fight had reminded him of who he was, what he was supposed to do. It reminded him of why he strode the heavens and the Earth for thousands of years and why he would do so for thousands more.

And he said it aloud, to no one but himself. “I am Ares. I am no hero. I am no villain. I am the GOD OF WAR! No…not only that, as Bullseye once told me, I am the F*****N’ GOD OF WAR! And the F*****N’ GOD OF WAR lives for battle!

"The God of War needs no one else to define him. He is defined by the one thing that will never, EVER cease on the world…BATTLE. And yet I sit here…pitying myself and my station.

NO MORE.

I AM THE F*****N’ GOD OF WAR. I live for battle and battle alone. And I see an opponent worthy of doing battle with me. A man who has fought gods and monsters as I have. A man of virtue, a man of action. A true champion.

So let the streets of great Metropolis ring with the din of battle. Ready thyself, Superman, for THE GOD OF WAR comes for thee!”

Loves me some Dirk Anger. One of the greatest parodies of all time.

I have to giggle about the anticipation of the fight because I was excited, too, and the first test basically went like this:

Ares uses Startle to get Superman flat-footed for a surprise round. He all out/power attacks for 3. He hits. Superman soaks the damage. Ares wins initiative. Ares attacks again, hits. Superman soaks the damage. Superman power attacks for 2. Hits. Ares rolls a 3 on the save, he's unconscious.

A bit of a letdown. :(

So I re-did it and it was a much better fight. Almost done writing it up, should have it up probably Thursday eve. Then I was going to do a Batman test, but in honor of the Saints winning the Super Bowl, I think I am going to test Gambit instead, mon amis.
