Upon his throne, deep within the nerve centre of his Cocoon headquarters, The mighty monarch massaged his brow while fighting a sense of deja-vu.

"So," he sighed, keeping an eye on his security beacon, "You kidnapped the Venture Brothers."

"Yessir," replied henchman #67

"okay, who's bright idea was that?"

"It was mikey, sir." answered #21

"Mikey eh," the monarch mused, "Schedule him for a torture session. the sharks need their exercise."

"We can't," replied #24, "brock samson got 'im."

another sigh "so close to getting his wings, too. But that's what I'm talking about!" monarch shouted, standing up now, "21 and 24 remember what happened the last time, you all know venture's going to set that Swedish Murder Machine loose and he'll go sickhouse on our asses. AGAIN!"

"naw, it's okay monarch," #21 replied, "Mikey took him with 'im."

"No [bleep!]'ing way! are you serious?"

"Oh yeah. see. venture was working on this teleport-gate thingie, and right before mikey bought it, he turned it on. he and samson got pulled in."

"I don't beleive it."

"yeah," #24 nodded, "samson went in, but the guy that came out wasn't him."

at this, #21 turned on his coworker. "hey," he whispered, "you're not supposed to tell him that!"

"Tell me what?"

"Well, the guy that came out... It was captain america."

"Aw [BLEEP!]. [BLEEP] [BLEEP] [BLEEEEEP]"

and, just then, the klaxons sounded.

"Oh crap he's here!" monarch shouted, "everyone, battle stations. we'll head him off at the Atrium, try to drive him out. I mean, he can't be as tough as Samson, right?"

:arrow: despite appearances to the contrary, The Monarch is actually pretty dangerous for the VB world, because while he folds like a card table in a fight, it's his charisma and leadership qualities that make him a tthreat.

:arrow: and yes, as monarch is becoming one of the show's protagonists, he gets the HP from complications


ground rules: now, while I've comissioned marcosalazam to run these things on my behalf, I'm actually going to try and give this fight a shot myself in order to try and understand the rules (I don't have mini's, so this could get interesting.

for monarch's henchmen, I'll be using the 'thug' minion from the rulebook, replacing their guns with +3 stun pistols. regarding hero points, Monarch will be operating via GM fiat. because i've not given cap any specific complications, he only gets his token HP to start

the fight will be taking place in the Cocoon's atrium, a nice, big circular area (the exact dimensions I'm still fiddling with). cap will be starting on the west, monarch on the east, north is the holding cells with the brothers, south is monarch's quarters (with the smaller escape cocoon, cleverly concealed within the larger cocoon)

Predictions As Libra said, we should be looking at a complete massacre on cap's part, fuelled both by a higher skill level, and the hp monarch will be inadvertandly feeding him.

however, there is the possibility monarch's side might win, and that's through mass fire of the stun guns. I speak from experience that their combined firepower might just do the job

:arrow: UPDATE: in prepping for the fight with monarch, I realized cap had NO sense motive at all, so I corrected that. I also upped his takedown attack, so he can literally mow down goons without breaking stride

The Monarch's only saving grace, and those of his minions, is that Captain America doesn't kill.

That said... expect pain, broken bones, and dislodged teeth.

Doctor Girlfriend's NOT going to be happy cleaning up this mess.
