Notes

Here is Silver Moon-Rebooted version. This version has a fleshed out and more detailed background, greater skill with the tiar and disc, her Silver Tiara Attack isn't an automiss on a roll of 1 and she is luckier than before. Also she can't use her Silver Tiara Attack or Moon Healing if she can't both speak and gesture. The coin which Mark found is known as the Twisted Fate Coin, capable of granting any wish but always twisting it as much as possible. So be careful if you find a golden coin with the image of a tiny angel with horns on the front and "Good for One Wish" written on the back.

Many of the skills as Silver Moon she can use in her normal form as Maria. This is shown by ability scores, skills and feats. She is a skilled fighter and extremely strong willed for someone her age. This is a part of the wish, as a way to help protect her even when in her normal identity. Without her pendant she can't transform into Silver Moon. This is a complication for the most part, as she won't lose it that often and only as part of an adventure plot. Plus it tends to draw her towards it or find ways to be taken back to her.

As Silver Moon she has a lot of power and abilities which make her seem much stronger. This is shown by her PL and PP difference. But even as Maria she still has a lot of power and using her throwing disc [heavier than normal frisbee] can be dangerous. Especially with her skill at aiming them. The wish which Mark made can not be reverse by anything short of a Plot Device, not even a PL X character can reverse it. Plus reversing the wish will endanger reality itself. Thus it is likely she is here to stay, unless some twisted cosmic being tries to manipulate others into reversing the wish.
Description of Powers:Maria can transform by calling out "Silver Moon Power!" into the superheroine, Silver Moon. As Silver Moon she is faster and more agile than normal, able to make leaps which defy gravity and run much faster. Her mind is shielded from mental powers even in normal form though, making finding out her identity that way hard. She can sense when evil is around and partially the degree of it as well, alerting her to trouble.
She can hurl her tiara which spins so rapidly as to appear to be a silver glowing disc. It can hit with intense power, extend and enwrap around a target or stun them with precise ability. She can also summon forth her Silver Moon staff to fight with, normally reserved for when fighting incorporal enemies, as she likes to stay at a distance from her foes. By focusing the light from the gem in the middle of her tiara she can heal others, as well as banish evil creatures or remove any mind-influencing affects from such beings on others.
Silver Moon is constantly surrouned by a silver aura of energy, which helps to shield her from harm. She can also manifest large white angelic wings from her back at will to fly with. Due to the nature of the wish she has a lot of power for someone her age, able to take on beings more powerful than one would expect from a girl her age, let alone an experienced hero.
History:
A Simple Coin Leads to Big Changes
A guy with little going for him in his life, things always seemed to work against Mark, no matter what he tried. A bit of a slacker, he couldn't find a job to fit his skills, not in the small town he lived in. Forced to live with friends just to get by, he couldn't even rely on his parents. A few years ago they both died, the result of a car accident with most details covered up by the police from the public. Mark knew it though, a drunk off-duty cop had slammed into them hard and gotten away with it because of his buddies on the force. Not even his love of comics, anime and manga could help him out, as the comic book stores in the area weren't hiring, business being slow.
But he kept his hopes up, thinking that things would take a turn for the better soon. Til finally the breaking point came in his life, as his friends were having finacial troubles and couldn't afford to keep him around without a source of income. He was given an ultimatum, one which didn't seem doable at the time. Either find a job in the next few weeks to help pay the bills or he would have to move out. He tried his best, but no one in the area seemed to be hiring at the time or required him to have experience in the business to be hired. After being turned down for another job once again, Mark wandered the streets of the city, trying to of something, anything which he could do. As he began to wonder about heading back to the apartment, something strange happened. A voice in his head told him to do just that, but as he started to head back he zoned out and ended up taking a shortcut through an alleyway he normally tried to avoid.
It was early in the evening already, the shadows in the alley would normally have been too much to see by. But sunlight shone down just enough for him to see by, enough to avoid banging into the clutter and debrie. As it shone down and he looked at the ground, not wishing to step on a nail or something sharp, something glinted brightly. A small piece of metal, just barely noticable, yet drawing Mark's attention to it. As he bent over and picked up the piece of metal without trouble, he couldn't tell what it was, the grit and grim covering it too well. After cleaning it for a minute, he finally saw what it was he held. A large golden coin, something which a museum would probably pay good money for. He thought his prays had been answered, but something else on the coin drew his attention. An image of an angel, one with tiny horns on its head, was depicted on the front o fhte coin. Flipping it over, he found just one simple sentance written on the back. "Good for One Wish."
Mark became crestfallen, thinking it was just a joke coin from one of the magic shops in the aeaa. He began to get ready to toss it aside, figuring if the original owner didn't care for it, why should he. But something tugged at him, his own curiosity and lack of anything else to do right then. Finally given in to his own urge, he decided to make a wish just for the heck of it, if nothing happened he could simply have it checked to see if it was worth anything. "Something I've always wished for, to be like those anime superheroes, having special powers to fight evil with. Just like in all those animes and manga I love so much. That would be such a great thing to have, not only would I have fame, being able to fight supercriminals and save people's lives. But I also wouldn't have to worry about a place ot stay anymore, nor about getting a job. I wish that could happen." he said outloud, cuckling at the end at the thought of his wish coming true.
Wishes Are Tricky Business
But despite all of his geek culture knowledge and having read stories with genies and wish granting items before, Mark didn't pay attention to the coin, nor did he fully think his wish through and what it could mean for him. He had begun daydreaming while making the wish, simply staring up at the early evening sky and marvelling at the full moon which was just barely visable. If he had been paying attention to the unusual coin, he would have seen the little angel with horns, grinning with glee. The coin started to glow with a brilliant golden light, but what brought his attention back to the world around him was a burning pain in the palm of his hand. The coin was heating up, getting hotter and hotter as the energy increased within it. "This coin is something freaky, I'm out of here." he said to herself, attempting to move his arm to throw the coin away.
But his motor function weren't responding, his own body, every limb, frozen numb by some unseen force. "What the heck is going on here!" he cried out, fearing the answer would be something he wouldn't like. A tiny voice spoke up finally, coming from the coin. "As you asked, it is being done. Your wish is even now being granted, the universal magical energies are gathering and building, as they adjust your reality and search for the path of least resistance to work through. As it has done countless times before and will countless times more." Mark couldn't believe his ears, this must be some prank or he got metallic poisoning from contact with the coin, it couldn't be real. "But it was just a joke, don't you understand a joke when you hear one. None of this can possibly be real." he said to the coin, still in shock and not believing he was responding to a coin.
As he looked around and surveyed the area, looking for camera men, people hiding out, something to indicate he was just on some weird television show. But as he did so, what he saw made him begin to think this was all very real. His surroundings began to shimmer around him, like a haze or desert mirage. "Now what?" he asked the little angel on the coin in a worried tone, knowing he wouldn't like the answer even before he heard it. "As I stated before, the magic is searching to find a way to place you in this reality with as little change as needed. There is no stopping what is going on now, you should just relax and accept your fate, mortal." she said, without even as so much as blinking. That is, if she even could blink, thought Mark. But Mark began to recognize a place which he had visited a few times in the past, as a building began to form around him. Worry overcame every part of his being, as he was standing in the orphanage in Freedom City's Midtown area.
The fear of why he was in this place was replaced by something new. His clothes began to shift around him on his body, as first his shirt seemed to change color and form. He recognized it immediately, as blue and white sailor fuku top, just like the ones worn by many girls in anime series and in mangas. "Now wait just a minute, this isn't what I meant at all. I wanted to be someone like Yusuke, Kiba from Wolf's Rain, even Ranma. But not like Serena from Sailor Moon or Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. Just how far will these changes go, will I have no family or friends left once I'm finished changing? No one will recognize me, what am I supposed to do now?" he said, beginning to cry as the changes continued before his eyes.
"As I said in the beginning, your wish is being granted in the way of least resistance for it to work. Since you are skinny for your age, it was much easier to make you smaller, than to try and bulk you up. Your parents have passed on from this world, what mortals call dead. So placing you into an orphanage was the easiest path, as it is nearly impossible to bring the dead back to life. And yes, your friends won't know who you were, as reality is being changed around you. Next time the opportunity presents itself, think your wish through before asking it." the little angel on the coin's head said in response. Suddenly his pant's legs began to change, flowing up his legs and freaking Mark out. All of this was too sureal for him to take in, just as a blue sailor fuku skirt formed around his legs and still was frozen in place.
The changes to his clothes began to speed up, as his socks shortened and changed to a clean white, while his soes turned into a simple pair of blue shoes sized for a girl. In pain as his body hadn't begun to change yet, he pleaded once again. "You have to make it stop before it is too late, there has to be something you can do." But his words once again fell on deaf ears. "I'm sorry, young one. But as I've stated, once the magic is unleased, it must do its work to completion. There is nothing I can do to stop it, nor to change the path it has chosen for you now." the little angel said from upon the coin's face, a look of sadness on her face for once.
But his clothing was only the start of the transformations awaiting him. As Mark sudden felt a pressure in his torso, as he shrank smaller and his shoulders narrowed rapidly. A sudden pinching sensation hit him, as his waist was pulled in and narrowed, just as his hips ballooned outward. The sensation of his butt being filled with something was too much, as this was the final straw for his fragile mind. Overwhelmed by all of the changes, his own mind tried to protect him, he blacked out, the world dimming from his sight before only darkness could be seen.
A New Reality, New Memories
Finally awakening after what felt like hours, Mark thought to himself about what a strange dream he must have had. Until he felt the cool air from the AC blowing over his legs, as he laid upon a soft surface. Things didn't feel right, yet at the same time they did. Starting to sit up, he felt something shift on his chest, a weight he never before knew. Looking down, he saw a skirt covering his legs partially, just like the skirt from that freaky dream! He started to freak out at what was happening, but something prevented him...her from doing so. New memories even now were forming in the new girl's mind, filling her in on the life she had lived in this changed reality.
As her memories came, she at least knew things about this life of hers. She was a 15 year old girl, Japanese American and named Maria Kuno. Her parents [these dual memories made it confusing at first] had moved to the United State, when she was only 2 years old. They raised her with some of the Japanese traditions, alongside American culture, so she would have a sense of heritage. Smart, she excelled in school, even being gifted with a natural agility and grace, one rarely seen in someone her age. She had many friends in the small town where she grew up, until the day her father was transfered. Off they went to live in Freedom City when she was only 11 years old, so her dad could work at the main office. She resented this at first, her dad had ripped her away from her friends, her life. But she would have to adjust, as things would never be the same again.
Maria was too shy at first to try and make new friends, keeping to her studies for the time being. But after a short while she began to open up, making new friends finally, even showing greater skill in her gymnastics class than before. Once again, things were going well in the young girl's life and it seemed like nothing could bring her down. Til tragedy struck, as both her parents were killed in a car jacking gone bad in the Fens, leaving her an orphan at the age of 13. Placed in the local orphanage for the time being, she began to show the classic signs of being depressed, even keeping to herself at school once again. Her old friends couldn't get through to her and anyone with eyes could see she was drifting away from what was helping her keep stable in this time of heartache.
Only something drastic, life-altering, would be able to snap her out of this state. And that is when Fate stepped in. A school field trip to the Freedom Museum, something she would have loved in the past, yet she seemed to walk about in a daze, following the other students without a word. But as they took the tour, something seemed to break through to her. A voice called out to her, one which seemed to be in her very mind. Telling her to come to a strange exhibit, one with artifacts found on the moon unlike anything seen before. The voice seemed able to influence her actions, to a degree, as she walked in a half-trance state, wandering away from her class and into the exhibit area. Before her were several objects displayed in a glass case, seeming to pulse with power as she gazed upon them. A golden pendant, one with a symbol of a full silver moon in the cent, a silver tiara with the same moon symbol in the center and a silver staff that possessed several symbols of the moon all along it. They gleemed in the moonlight, as if calling out to Maria.
But what happened next sealed her fate, as the glass case disolved around the objects, an unseen force affecting them. In a trance, she picked up the pendant and words came to her mind, ones which were old yet at the same time familiar to her. "Silver Moon Power!" came from her lips, as she came out of the trance and felt an energy surround her for a moment. A swirl of silver light surrounded Maria, materializing a costume around her. A sailor fuku, but one with a silver trim and knee-length boots, formed on her body and legs. Suddenly a glow came from the case once again, as the tiara appeared on her forehead and the staff in her right hand. None of this made any sense, as the confused girl looked around for an answer.
Once again, the strange voice spoke in her mind. "You, young one, are Silver Moon. The guardian of ancient powers from the moon, ones which even those who still live upon it have no idea once existed. You have been granted these powers, as they are your destiny. Use them to be a savior, to champion the innocent and fight evil in your world. From time to time, I will help you with advice. But you must learn how to be a true heroine on your own, if you are to succeed. For now, I bid you farewell. Good luck, Silver Moon." it said, just as Maria suddenly reverted to her normal form, the staff and tiara no where in sight, yet the pendant staying in the middle of her blouse. Was this all just a freaky daydream or something more? For now, she brushed it off and descided to get back to her school group.
Fate Intervenes to Help the New Heroine
As the images began to fade, Maria snapped out of her haze, still disoriented from being shown so many memories at once. The museum trip, it seems, had only been 4 days ago. Already her new self had trained some, gaining a little control over her new powers. At least the wish had come through on that part, to be made a hero [ine] like she had asked. Although definately not in the way she originally hoped. Although she would be going through high school all over again, at least this time she might be popular. Huh? Where had that thought come from? Already she was beginning to think like a teenage girl, scaring the part of her which had memories of growing up a boy. How would she deal with all of this, especially without parents to lean on and ask for help?
Mark/Maria was forced to quickly get use to the changes in her reality, the changes to her own mind helping some. The little coin angel hadn't lied at least, as it seems reality was changed to accomidate her new self. Her old friends never even knew a Mark Kenson and wondered what a high school girl like her was talking to them for. She was able to keep up in school, along with knowing who her new friends were, thanks to the memories of her new life. Although sometimes she thought they were only her friends out of pity, because of her being an orphan now. She began to slip into depression once again, not knowing what to do with her powers, as there were already so many heroes in the area. But Fate wasn't about to let her go just yet. Mark/Maria quickly got used to the changes in her reality, her old friends never even knew a Mark Kenson. Thanks to the memories of this new life she was able to keep up in school, along with knowing her new friends. Although it seemed they were only her friends out of pity, due to her being an orphan. On her way back to the orphange one day something directed her to go another route. Through an alleyway, she was wary but felt compelled to go along. Nothing happened in the alley but what she found on the other side would change her life once again.
On her way back to the orphanage one day, after spending some time at the mall with her friends, she felt like something was directing her to go another way. Through a nearby alleyway, she was wary, especially from past experience, but felt compelled to go none the less. She couldn't believe what she saw next, out on the street were Rant and Rave, fighting some members of the Next-Gen, causing trouble and endangering lives while trying to get away. Clutching her pendant to her chest, Maria cried out "Silver Moon Power!" and once again in a swirl of light became Silver Moon, champion of the innocent and fighter of evil. Rushing into the fight without a second thought, Sonic tried to tell the crazy girl to leave before she got hurt, thinking she was just some anime fan in a costume. Til she cried out "Silver Moon Tiara Attack!" and hurled her tiara at Rant, swirling silver light and knocking the thug out in one blow. He couldn't believe it, had something changed in the universe laws and no one told him? How could an anime magical girl be here and helping them out, was it a trap by Doc Otaku or something else?
Rant couldn't believe it, her brother taken out by a little girl with one attack. Putting down an illusion, she helped her brother up and covered their escape as they ran for it. Only to run right into Megastar, who easily subdued them just before the police finally arrived. Maria, still in her guise of Silver Moon, tried to sneak off, only to find it wasn't going to be that easy. Seven came over to talk to her, sensing a strong aura of magic around her. It didn't take much to get Maria to break down, finally agreeing to go with them to the Claremont Academy. Finally back at the Claremont Academy, in the office of Duncan Summers, she broke down and began to explain her story, all before the Next-Gen, Duncan Summers and his visiting daughter Callie, who all found it hard to believe.
They called in help to confirm her story, as Eldrich might be the only one skilled enough to pierce the veil of magic around her. As he probbed her magical aura and the history behind it, he stated her story was true down to the last word. Unfortunately the magic which had caused all of this was far beyond even Eldrich's skills to deal with, not without risking tearing reality apart or killing Maria in the process. She was stuck, stuck with no way back. Eldrich said that even other wish-granting level magic could possibly make such a drastic change once again, the amount used to alter reality on this level too unstable if more is introduced. The Silver Moon pendant was linked to Maria, as it would always find a way back to her no matter what. Upon hearing this, everyone agreed it would be best to set her up at the Claremont Academy, for her own good and so her powers couldn't fall into the wrong hands. In short order, she was set up in her own dorm room, with the orphanage being informed of her new arrangements. She was shown around the campus grounds by Serena, whom Maria at least had something in commmon with. At least now she had help to deal with her new world and life, more than she could say before.
Description:Maria is an exotic Japanese beauty, both part of the wish and gained from her mother in this reality. She is lithe but strong and agile for a girl her age. She has blue eyes, unusual for an Asian girl, along with blonde hair with silver streaks that go down to the middle of her back. She has one major trait which makes her stand out even more, a silver crescent moon symbol on her forehead, which is covered by the tiara when she is Silver Moon. She sometimes covers this up with a banddana.
Her normal outfit is a Japanese blue and white sailor fuku which she keeps as it was originally her mother's. She has other outfits which Serena has helped her to buy in the few days since she joined the Academy, but prefers to wear her sailor fuku during school hours. As Silver Moon she has a sailor fuku with silver trim, a silver skirt, silver knee-length boots, and a silver tiara. She can summon forth the Silver Moon staff at will, along with manifesting angelic white wings on her back when needed.
