Yup, i wussed out on doing a detailed build of him. But heck, he's still representable with those stats. Gotta love an Omnipotent being, trying to do the right thing every once in a while. He's got 100 floating points, changable each round. I didn't know if i should put the shape shifting seperate from the Reality Alteration or not. But i don't think it will matter much. Question should i give his energy form a strength score???

On a side note, i went to my local hastings store. And low and behold, they had all three setting sourcebooks for the LOTR rpg by Decipher. Now i feel with a little work, i could convert established characters into MnM. But i have to device a coversion system first...

I'm not familiar with the Decipher books you mention. Do they contain stats for many LOTR characters? Is it D20, or another ruleset?

BTW - Great Q! He's one of my favorite Star Trek characters, so that was a nice surprise.

Love the Q build...very nice...if your a Q fan...I would suggest finding the two following CD's

Spock vs. Q
Spock vs. Q 2

It's done by a company called Alien Voices, which was created and performed by both Lennard Nimoy and John de Lancie.
They are made kinda like the old Radio shows, but in front of a live studio audience, which is really cool

They also did a version of the Time Machine, The Lost World, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and a couple other Sci-Fi titles

it's all very well done, and I would suggest looking into it

Thanks on the Q build guys. Its a different rule setting, that Decipher came up with. A nice 2d6 system, plus modifier. If you remember the old LOTR play dice adventure books, where you made a simple character and used a d10 or 2d6 and went through the book. It spawned off of that, and not the ICE variation (thank gods). :roll:

So 12 is the character max, not 18. And 4-7 is average not 8-10.
Attributes range from 1 to 12 instead of 1- 20 like Mnm does, and 4-10 average. Here's the conversion so far.

LOTR Attribute to d20 Mnm
0 = 1-3
1 = 4-5
2 = 6-7
3 = 8
4 = 9
5 = 10
6 = 10
7 = 11
8 = 12
9 = 13
10 = 14-15
11 = 16-17
12 = 18-19
13 = 20-21
14 = 22-23
15 = 24-25

Most races have either a +1 bonus or +2 bonus to an attribute. This might work well as a +2/+4 tradeoff into MnM.

And however the DC system, seems to be nearly the same.
TN 5 =Simple = DC 5
TN 10 = Routine = DC 10
TN 15 = Challenging = DC 15
TN 20 = Difficult = DC 20
TN 25 = Virutally Impossible. = DC 25

Skill Ratings
Since skill ratings are judged from 0 to 12 normally, but can go alot higher than this. Converting to MnM means the need to increase the skill levels by 20%. Seems about right, or i might keep skill ranks the way they are.
Example in LOTR Aragorn has a +10 with Blades, but has a +12 when wielding Anduril.

Skill Bonuses are generally a +2 to something, or a +5 bonus. Like sting for example, gets a +5 bonus to damage orcs. Skill Affinity in LOTR is a +1 bonus, where in MnM its a +2 bonus. So perhaps in MnM, you gotta divide the bonuses by 2 instead perhaps , or leave it straight im not sure yet.

Skills and modifiers may not have to be touched what so ever, or the +5 becomes a +4 ? and LOTR is very skill heavy, so you might have to go with a 1:6 ratio. Another thought i had, was for these builds i might just have to drop Power Level, and PP limits entirely. As is an option in the Masterminds manual, and make it completely free-form. Especially after looking at some of the statistics im dealing with. The Decipher system, uses a clear cut "Advances" system. Each character has gained a number of advances to determine how powerful and experiences they have become.

Since starting skills for character creation in LOTR, have a max starting skill rank of 6. That might equate into a PL 6 character ?

Weapons use 2d6 for damage, + a weak modifier.
Example a Dagger does 2d6+2 damage, while a sword does 2d6+5. Seems to be a workable scale here. Since a dagger does +1, and a sword does =3 in MnM

Armor absorbs damage in this game, so... im wondering if hitpoints needs to be used it might not.
Example:
Leather stops 2
Scale Mail stops 4
Chain with Plate stops 6

So as you can see.. this almost corolates on another level.. So the stop power = rank in protection just about.

Intereesting not Frodo's Mithril shirt, has a damage absorption of 17 in LOTR! In this game Mithril adds +10 to the damage absorbed. So perhaps instead making that the Impervious Extra at 10 ranks, or just a flat +5 bonus to toughness rolls. If i used the damage dice conversion +10 would be +4 ranks.

Edges and Flaws:
LOTR uses an Edges and Flaws systems, the edges works almost straight across with Feats in MnM. Flaws seem more like complications.

This is what i have seen and thought of just as of right now.

Nice work everywhere, Joshua. I had tried something similar to your specific weapon training suites, but I couldn't get it to work. Mind if I lift the idea directly?

Hey, Joshua, think you can do the Mystery, Inc. crew, complete with complications, like Scooby and Shaggy's fear of anything scary?
