I'm certainly not the one to advise you on technical builds, but I'd be interested in what you intend to do with Black Attack.

I'd advise against having an NPC who's constantly available who is more powerful than the players, or the players will all feel like fifth wheels.

Well, these guys aren't really for play, I just felt like statting up the superteam I created as a kid and kept going through online forums and writing and stuff. I'm pretty sure players would hate the Young Guns, since pretty much every member is weaker than these two.

Here he is, among the most famous and oldest comic book characters of ALL TIME, and one who's curiously gone un-statted till just now. His stats require some explanation. Since Archie continuity seems to alter itself at times, some of Archie's skills are only occasionally seen. Primarily, he is often shown as either among the best athletes in school, or among the worst, as well as either excellent dating acumen, or not being able to work up the nerve to ask the "Hot new girl in school" for a date. So I had to make some choices. For his famous clumsiness, I simply gave Archie average DEX, while giving him Comp (Accident), which explains why he can be a moderately good athlete. For his unusual talent for attracting women (I chose the more 'confident' Archie that actually has a black book and stuff, since that's the version seen more), I gave him great CHA with which to draw people to him (he's genuinely likeable in Riverdale until he breaks something, and has only a few enemies, so this stat makes sense), and Attractiveness to at least explain why Betty, Veronica AND Cheryl all want him.

For his other Skills, he gets a low Drive score, since he's almost constantly doing SOMETHING to Ol' Betsy, even though he can drive her. Various stories have shown Archie as some kind of teenage super-spy or detective (particularly the World of Archie era, though many Riverdale High stories feature him getting to the bottom of a scheme or two, mostly from those dastardly Central High goons), so he's got Investigate and Acrobatics to get him out of those tough spots. He's never been shown as much of a combatant (slugging it out with Reggie or dodging a goon is about as dirty as he gets), so he's not got alot there, though his Dodge is pretty good. He gets Ultimate (Master Plan), because let's face it, sometimes Archie can make the CRAZIEST stuff work. He doesn't always get to use it (Betty & Veronica find out about his two-timing eventually), but when Central High is trying to get Big Moose kicked off the sports team by framing him for a criminal act, you KNOW it's always the Arch-man to the rescue with some giant convoluted idea.

For his vaunted "Dating Betty & Ronnie at the same time" situations, he gets a minor Bluff score, which in addition to his Attractiveness & Charisma, gives him a decent bonus against them, until his Accident Comp kicks in and it all comes tumbling down. Because of his proclivity for doing this to himself, he has a negative to Wisdom, because really, what other person is foolish enough to do that kind of thing? I considered knocking down his Intelligence due to his bad grades all the time, but it didn't seem prudent, since it's more a case of him not trying or being distracted, and he's shown that when the pressure's on, he can get Bs and As, too. He gets Sense Motive & Survival from his days of dealing with Reggie, and being a councillor at Camp Whateverfunnynametheycameupwiththatweek, but only enough to keep him from a negative score in either thanks to his low Wisdom.

And, of course, you can't forget The Archies. The lead singer & guitarist of the group, I've chosen to reflect the Archie of the "Semi-successful" pop group shown in the comics, as opposed to the glorified garage band version you sometimes see written (especially in recent years). You know, the band that appears on "NTV" and makes music videos (back when those were new). Therefore, Archie's got mad skills in that direction.

Wow. Amazingly, Betty Cooper, one of the most iconic of all comics characters, nearly doubles her wanted paramour's points value with ease. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised; Archie barely shows talent at tying his own shoelaces, much less anything else. Betty, on the other hand, has been shown excelling at virtually every skill ever at varying times (I can quote you on every skill displayed in her epic list there). Consequently, I not only gave her just-below-pro ranks in most of her notable skills, I also propped her up with Jack of All Trades & Beginner's Luck to help deal with the rest of her in-continuity skills. Betty is a famously good cook & seamstress (how many times as she copied the exact originals Veronica wanted to wear to the dance?), so she gets much higher points in those categories, as well as being a pro mechanic. Her "Flashdance" approach to dancing has led her to professional music video appearances as well.

Now on to her other capabilities. Veronica owns Archie about 100 times moreso than Betty ever could, so how to reflect that? Well, I figured Betty, despite being nice as all hell, is easily ignored by Archie & almost any other male (except for Jughead, who only likes her as a friend), therefore her Charisma score is baseline. What she does get by on, however, are good interpersonal skills (not as good as Ronnie's though) to bridge the gap, and she still gets Attractiveness, since it IS established that she's one new bikini or hairdo away from outdoing Veronica for that week's story. How else does she compete? Well, she can fix anything, cook anything, outdo Archie himself at half his favorite sports, and earns extra points every time Veronica's around. That's just about enough for everyone's favorite blonde to come out on top at least SOME of the time.

Musically speaking, though ridiculous, she's an expert with the Tambourine, and is arguably the co-lead singer of The Archies along with Big Red himself.

Even Ronnie overpowers Archie, but in her case, it's in sheer Feats. Skill-wise, she's Betty's inferior in just about every way, and Stat-wise, she's a joke. Frequently shown in the comics to be weak, cowardly, fragile ("SCREECH! I BROKE A NAIL!") and lazy, her physical stats just aren't there. She's been shown to be graceful, but even with elite training, her dancing can't match Ms. Cooper's. In fact, a great deal of Ronnie's stories involve her trying to top one of Betty's already great skills with one of her own, and then failing miserably, despite the world-class training she's just undertaken. SO what keeps Ronnie up there with Betts? Simple. CHARISMA. And lots of it. I'd rate her world class or even higher, but her shrill personality tends to shine through at the most inopportune moments, so it stays at 18. But there, it gets to mix with her lethal Bluff & Diplomacy skills, and of course, her Attractiveness. Though it's been established that a wig is all it takes to make Betty & Ronnie indistinguishable from each other (in continuity, no less, several times), Ronnie carries it better. There's no two ways around it. All she needs to do is vamp it up and Archie is HERS, completely and totally. Favored Opponent (Teenage Boys) makes it even more obvious, as does her elite Distract score, showcased in pretty much any Archie story where men will drop anything they're doing do go stare at her showing a little leg.

Benefit (Wealth) doesn't even really need to be said. It'd be a 6, but it's not HER wealth, it's "Daddykins'", and CAN be taken away (and has been, in several stories). Her low saves reflect her inability to see through lies and cons (she's been fooled several times by crooks and thieves), and ease of being seduced by better looking men.

Vis a vis The Archies, Ron performs backup vocals and plays the Keyboard. I'll assume a semi-professional level in the latter.

I can't believe I'm actually replying to this, but ... with regards to "why Betty, Veronica AND Cheryl are all after him" ... not sure Re: Cheryl, but it's been outright stated, a few times, that Veronica's only interested in him because Betty is.

Well, actually Cheryl's stated previously that the "Red hair inflames me so!" and her mother agreed, so Archie apparently appeals specifically to her. I've gotten the "Ron is jealous" implication in several stories as well, but I'm not sure I buy it. I'd say that's more a side effect of Ron's personality than the sole reason for her affection (She and Betty ARE best friends, after all). I know she's also proven insanely jealous of pretty much ANY woman Archie dates (to the point of beating him senseless every time he tries it), so it's more than just competition.

Oh, and I considered doing the Superteens, but alas, their powers were often merely Superman flying brick concepts with the occasional Silver Agey "WTF?" powers thrown in depending on the story, plus they were REALLY, REALLY BAD. However, I DO plan on doing the "Explorers of the Unknown" Archie gang (Red, Wheels, Angel, etc.) at some point.

Reggie Mantle. Among the more complicated Archie comics characters, in that his main rivals are also HIS BEST FRIENDS, and he seems to occupy little place in stories where he isn't the primary villain (in "Sports hero" stories, he usually isn't even there.) But even then, he's still the #5 Archie comics character in the headers, even though his solo books have come few and far between (though "Reggie and Me" was around for a long time during Archie's peak in the 50s & 60s). Somewhat of a relic in his time, the 50s bad-boy greaser archetype that made him perfect for Arch's rival back in the day is alot more tame and passive compared to what bad boys are today, so instead he's more of a polo-wearing prankster than a menace to society. For his stats, I more-or-less took Archie's, and made a few upgrades here and there. He's consistently shown as one of the best athletes in school, though not overly strong, so he gets decent 13s across the board, with Archie's lack of wisdom (he goes after the girlfriend of BIG MOOSE, for God's sake! He also routinely screws with Jughead, who is clearly his superior), and less charisma (Reggie may appear to have more than Arch, but keep in mind he gets shot down in almost every story, and soon after winning people's trust, immediately proves himself unworthy of it in their eyes.

His Complications are intense even by Archie standards, as he's been shown to be the enemy of just about everyone at some point or another. For Skills, I just gave him more than Archie, along with Craft (Mechanical) for his various prank devices. He's also rich enough to get at least one rank in Benefit (Wealth) as established in many Archie tales, and his Taunt is second to none.
