-Rage is one of the shortest-lived, most forgotten Avengers, having a brief run in Larry Hama's Avengers issues, turning up to insult them for their lack of black members, then getting asked to join in the same story (if their standards were THAT low, why the heck haven't there been more of them?). His whole schtick revolved around him being a 13-year old kid in an adult's super-powered body, living with his grandma and being in over his head. Once his age was discovered, he was turfed out of the team, and joined up with the New Warriors, where 95% of his story as a character was told. So yeah, barely counts as an Avenger, being so brief and all that. He actually survived the whole Civil War mess, and ended up on some team called Counter Force, after quitting The Initiative.
-Rage is a PL 8 Powerhouse, being pretty bare-bones and weak compared to the elites. Inexperienced at this point, he'd get a bit better later on, as he matured. But +6 to Attack & Defense seems pretty accurate given how he was shown around this time.

EDIT-- Did a tally, and yeah, it's been a while since my Deathstroke (#500) build, and I'm currently at #583. That means I'll hit #600 in my Avengers builds.

Now that's very impressive work since you did them all yourself. :D

-Firestar was a pretty good Avenger, taking a big part in Kurt Busiek's post-Heroes Reborn revamp of the team, with fellow New Warrior, Justice. Part of what made his run so good is that Kurt understood that the true way towards longevity in a series is using the old, established guard of heroes, and follow them up by adding in a couple new people to 'prove themselves' as characters, giving you tons of new stories, where a bunch of boring old guard types would just hunker everything down with 'been there, done that'.
-Angelica of course had a messed-up history standard of Marvel characters, in that she debuted in the Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends cartoon series as a Mary-Jane clone with the Human Torch's powers ('we don't want kids to light themselves on fire' was the asinine reason assumed, though 'we needed someone with boobs' was just as likely), got shoved into comics continuity by means of Emma Frost & the Hellions, and then vanished into comics limbo for an eternity, because Marvel's like that sometimes. It would take Tom DeFalco scanning through the Official Handbooks of the Marvel Universe to find new generation heroes that had vanished to bring her back, and so, she joined the New Warriors. This run gave her the eternal dork boyfriend (Justice), actual personality for once, and helped make her what she officially became in Avengers.
-Her costume changes helped a bit, too, as the horribly-dated yellow body-stocking with the big red flare mask wasn't gonna do it, nor would the brutally-90s "red visor & black vest" get-up. George Perez's skintight yellow & black 'flamed' outfit was much better, and proof that he doesn't TOTALLY suck at character design sometimes.
-A pretty good, balanced PL 10, as most X-Men or Avengers types at basic levels should be. She can hit hard, and has both All-Out & Defensive Attack to modify her caps alongside Power Attack. Area-effecting powers, some heat-based stuff (Melt, Ignite), and some other funky stuff she's only used a couple times (not sure how Microwaves nullify psionics, but there you go). Note that she's very much a glass cannon, unable to just eat gunfire and stuff like that, so she shouldn't be right out there taking hits.

I remember a long time ago reading about the 'psion' being some kind of brainwave or somesuch. The idea, I think, was that these things were supose to be what read brains and such- kinda like the brain being a radio. Maybe that's where this came from in whatever comic it came up in.

-Justice formed the other half of "Firestar and..." fulfilling the "Kyle Rayner" role in the Avengers. The career-long dork, Justice had been rejected by the Avengers early-on (as "Marvel Boy") before being recruited by Night Thrasher for the New Warriors. By this time, he'd 'upgraded' to a higher level, joining the big leagues, but not before doing the requisite "I was once a competent hero on my own team, but now I'm a giant retard who's nervous all the time" act, shared by other luminaries such as Cannonball.
-He made good several times however, being instrumental in bringing down Ultron-17, but eventually left the team quietly. Nowadays, he's shown up from time to time in The Initiative, but sadly, he & Firestar mostly vanished after Kurt Busiek's Avengers run, moving into Marvel Limbo, and even breaking up (which really sucks, since they were one of the few long-term relationships with any actual staying power).
-Justice initially came in under-pointed, but some boosting of his Abilities brought him up to par. He can hit hard and well, and keeps up his protective force field at most times. This makes him a really good team player, protecting his allies and tossing stuff around and generally getting in the villains' way and stuff.

And just what are you trying to say, Libra?!?!?!? That I am lazy? That I take credit for the work of others? That my 1000 posted builds at J-Mart are a sham?

I'm OK with all that since it's true and all, I just want to make sure I'm reading things right. :D

Loved the foreigners and look forward to your Avengers run. They had some pretty crappy members at times, too, with Pym leading the list.

-Poor, poor Hank Pym. His auspicious origins as "The Man in the Ant Hill" made him one of the goofier Avengers right away. I mean, what big-league super-team had TWO shrinking members? So in comics Hank as Giant-Man, which is a fully-retarded name, and the poor guy only gets slightly more cred. The problem? "Growing Guy" is one of the biggest fall guys in comics. Because he's NEVER just 'team powerhouse', so he's always got to be the first guy getting his ass kicked by the new big super-villain. I mean, you can't just have Thor or Iron Man job out to Namor right away, because they're big-league heroes known for their great powers. Giant-Man, on the other hand, has the low-selling book, so you can cart his giant ass on out there to job out HARD to the Sub-Mariner, while he gets mocked for not being as strong as him, because hey, it still looks pretty impressive to send a 30,000 pound man out on his ass, right?

-Problematically, while the Avengers was initially an "All Our Solo Guys in a Team Book" team, they cancelled the Giant-Man & The Wasp series first out of the rest, meaning they essentially got demoted to "always Avengers" guys, meaning that if they weren't in an Avengers book currently, they were out of comics PERIOD, like Hawkeye, Black Knight, etc.

-This build represents Hank as Giant-Man, but he can also turn to shrinking to Ant-Man form, at which point he can throw on the helmet to gain control over insects (who thankfully don't have much of a will save, so the ants easily follow him). He usually runs around at Growth 8, making him only PL 8 roughly, but he can upgrade to full-size at Growth 16, giving him PL 9.5 Defensive powers. This makes him a 'not quite' PL 10, which is kind of fitting for a guy who was always 'not quite' a worthy hero.

-Darkhawk is the result of an honest attempt in the early 90s to replicate the success of Spider-Man. Chris Powell was every bit a Peter Parker-knockoff, an everyday kid with everyday problems, trying to make up for his crooked-cop father after donning a random alien suit of armour he found in a carnival or something. He had his own series that went on for a while, and part of his run included meeting up with the West Coast Avengers, hanging around in that "provisional member" status (aka "Marvel didn't want me on the team, but the writer probably did"), earning him enough points with the team to actually get mentioned from time to time.
-Sadly, Darkhawk's stories never really took off on any serious level (when your ONLY good villain is not only named "Evilhawk", but 'dies' after his first appearance, you're kind of screwed, and left borrowing old Spidey villains), and the book's slowing sales resulted in a newer, more badass costume that also got forgotten the second the book was cancelled. And cancelled it was, a victim of the Great Comics Crash of the mid-90s. Darkhawk's appearances since then have been as a kind of jokey guy, with some of the humor based around how little he is regarded.
-Darkhawk actually costs a lot of points, since he has tons of powers (strength, regeneration, energy blasts, claws, etc.). His Regeneration in particularly annoying, since it's extremely high level, but requires Powell to transfer places with the Darkhawk armour so that it moves back to the floating satellite that it sits on.

-Swordsman's a bit weird in that he only briefly joined the team, and on two separate occasions. He did the "join the team, only to betray them" bit, only years before Terra did (though it was, if I recall, one of those quickie bits solved in an issue or two, and you knew about the betrayal well in advance). Then, years later, after becoming a failed villain in Marvel Limbo, he honestly reformed out of love for Mantis, and got a heroes' death in another arc, the ultra-weird Celestial Madonna storyline that was at least proof that SOME comic book writers were using psychedelic drugs at the time.
-History has kind of slighted him, in that he's mostly forgotten, and has had his name taken by dozens of scrubs over the years, but he still gets some props for being "The Greatest Swordsman Ever".
-At PL 10 (135), he's under-pointed, but few are better with their chosen weapon. That sucker can blast various types of energy, fire out sleep gas, and is a regularly effective sword at the same time. He crits on anything from 16-20, has +14 to Attack with his chosen weapon, and is damn hard to hit as well. The "Greatest Swordsman Ever" moniker seems to require a +16 Attack Bonus, but honestly, I find that a little excessive the way M&M does it (when their STARTING Martial Artist Guy gets +16, it's a little crazy, since I would imagine only Shang Chi or Lady Shiva getting those kinds of numbers), especially since he's also a pretty strong guy with a heavy weapon that does AT LEAST +6 Melee damage.

Nice work so far Jab. I have only two remarks

1- During you international run you left out a couple of character Hauptmann Deutschland/Vormund, an obscure character that appeared only in a couple of issues of "Captain America" during Mark Grunewald era, and La Bandera, a cuban mutant appeared on "Wolverine". Here is a link to the Wiki entries
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauptmann_Deutschland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Bandera

2- I truly hope to see a build of Hank Pym during is West Coast Avengers days, when he choose not to use any alias or costume (IMHO the better choice for the authors ever made for the character)

By the way, in 1996 Marvel Italia published a limited series of 5 issues, introducing two european based teams Gemini and Euroforce, if you are intersted I can send you the details.

Great Swordsman build, Jab. Jacques was always my favorite Swordsman, mostly because I saw him as a close match for Captain America (sword v. shield) and he trained Hawkeye as a kid, and those two are among my favorite Avengers.

Never heard of La Bandera, but I have the issues of Captain America in question where Hauptmann came in. I just avoided statting him because I had no good ideas at the time, but I'll likely take another shot at it.

And I'm definitely interested in seeing some other European heroes' bios and such. I've never heard of either of them.

And oh yes, you will be seeing WC Avengers Hank Pym, alongside Yellowjacket. Soon as I figure out if Yellowjacket Pym ACTUALLY shrank as well, since the guy never did that at all in Avengers Forever.

-Triathlon is what we'd call a "failed experiment". Kurt Busiek, while writing his awesome revamp of the Avengers, ended up with a bit of a boring storyline with the whole Triune Understanding thing. They were your standard cult/religious group that did an "Oh, we're SO oppressed by the big mean heroes" vibe (basically exactly what Marv Wolfman did in Teen Titans fifteen years prior), and the fans kind of crapped on it. Poor Triathlon, the Understanding's toady, who got shunted onto the Avengers under advice from their government liaison, fared even worse, being a giant douche to the whole team right away, and acting like he was super awesome. So the fans HATED the character right out of the gate, considering him a lame 3-D Man rip-off, and he got depowered at the end of the Understanding's arc (of course, they turned out to be super evil), vanishing for years. Like most guys, he's shown up in the Initiative storyline (seriously, is there a B-level guy who HASN'T shown up in that?), but that's about it.
-Standard PL 9 (135) build, he's strong, fast and durable, but falls JUST short of those PL 10 benchmarks, and is also pretty light on the Skills and Feats for an in-close fighter type guy. "Just above peak human" guys tend to have some movement powers added onto their basic stats (Speed, Leaping, etc.), so I stuck those on as well.
