Nice Titans builds! My daughter and I love watching the Teen Titans cartoon. I have the first four seasons on DVD and the fifth is out on Tuesday. I have it pre-ordered along with the Batman Gotham Night DVD!

Again, Jabroni, my hat goes off to you for your willingness to stat the crappy characters of a series as well as the stars. Joto...Pantha...Phantasm...I think we may have to run them against the Acolytes in a battle of suck that could each epic proportions. 8)

Yeah, I've got a plan for when I finally read into the actual rules (as opposed to just the character creation rules), that involves a full-on Acolytes vs. Mutant Liberation Front battle.

Now THAT fight would suck magnificently!!! I can't wait!!! Maybe you could throw in Hank Pym to take the levels of suck to awesome levels.

-Mirage is an odd one, as she joined the Titans after being part of the Team Titans, a group from an alternate future that were sent to assassinate Donna Troy before her son could become Lord Chaos. As the resident Illusion girl, she got into some trouble for pretending she wasn't pregnant (after she was raped by Deathwing, her teammate), and at one point I think she slept with Nightwing while pretending to be Starfire or something. She popped up in Technis Imperative fooling J'onn into thinking she was his late wife, and joined the Titans for a few brief moments in more recent times (such as "One Year Later's" big montage of people who joined & quit), but pretty much stands as a forgotten character, as even I tend to forget she was ever on the team, joining when it started to suck, and leaving before it started to REALLY suck under Jurgens.
-Standard "Team Player" build, her Illusions are powerful (does a +10 Illusion make you PL 10? I'm not sure), also allowing her to modify her appearance (I think I'd make any "Illusion Guy" characters also take Morph as an AP to give them different appearances too), as well as showing different versions of herself, or putting a fake image in front of her while she makes herself Invisible at the same time. She's not very powerful in combat, but that's really not her purpose. Obviously, she's rather under-pointed, given her one-note nature and lack of "OMG she's such a good martial artist too!" fighting skills.

-Prysm is a rarity; a cool new character on the Jurgens Titans. Well, she didn't really get a huge amount of development, and she sure as hell didn't play a major part in DC (I think her last appearance EVER is nearly ten years ago), but I thought the concept was cool. She was a living crystal girl, raised in a 'learning tube' or whatever, in a fantasy world based off of 1950s television, and was then forced into the 'real world' with the Titans. An energy-user who fell for Risk, she also did the classic 'unrequited love' angle. Kind of a pity she vanished into the ether.
-Prysm is slightly better than most of her comrades, having better powers. As living crystal, she's more of a weak construct than a living entity in terms of durability, with relatively decent energy powers (the Lasers are more precise and can penetrate armour). She can fly, has a mental link with teammate Fringe, and most interestingly, she can alter her colour based off of her mood, giving the colourist something fun to do. Does it deserve a power? Well, I figure you could give a bonus to her normally-pitiful Intimidate by making her go red with anger, or give her a bonus to Diplomacy by seeming sad and lonely with blue skin tones. It offsets the minor Drawback that is colour-blind (not too many situations where that one pops up, really).

-Argent was easily the best character of the Jurgens Titans. You could pretty much guess that, with her being the only one who moved on to another group and all. Taking on the "dumb rich girl" persona, she actually grew out of the stereotype, became a good hero of her own regard, and was given a link to the Mafia by way of her rich father, leading to a handful of backstory. The character seemed to have potential, and could've really been something, but it wasn't in the cards once the Titans failed as a series after the millennium, and everything turned into Retro Titans/Young Justice for the team. Some people at DC tried, but Argent just couldn't escape the vortex of suck surrounding the mid-90s Titans.
-Argent's sort of like a weaker Green Lantern with her construct power APing to Blasts, Flight, a Force Field, etc. She doesn't cost as much as she should, being very one-sided, but she's still got a pretty good power, able to protect all her teammates, and shunt a few points to Flight and a Blast power, too.

-Oh, Hank Hall. Poor, poor Hank Hall. Initially a Steve Ditko creation, the creator bailed right away over arguments on how to write the pair of Hawk & Dove with fellow creator Steve Skeates. Skeates felt that Ditko was writing Don "Dove" Hall as a wimpy pussy who couldn't decide on anything, and Ditko felt that Skeates was showing Hank "Hawk" Hall as a buffoonish moron who didn't think about anything. The idea Ditko wanted to present was that the two of them both have valuable things to offer, as well as having weaknesses. But it wasn't to be, and Hawk & Dove was a BIG failure, dying after six issues. They popped up in the Titans once or twice (which is why they're on here), before Don was killed in the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Then he got a hot female Dove (and don't think THAT wasn't a hard decision to make; making the peacenik lovey one a hot girl). Hank then went through a major dose of crazy, eventually becoming the Monarch (after Captain Atom was guessed too easily by fans as being the secret ID of the big new villain), which failed BRUTALLY, which resulted in a further shift into Extant, and by that point nobody cared. He was last seen fighting the Justice Society, using a renewed Dove as his love-slave. And some SUPER complicated stuff involving the two of them producing Dr. Fate, who was really the kid of Hawkman & Hawkgirl I.
-Hawk is a pretty decent front-line fighter, using super-strength. He's a PL 9.5 at regular times, but can use Rage to boost up to PL 10 easily, and can go one over, but I'll use the Steven Kenson idea that you don't go fully over on PL when you Rage, lest that's the most useless feat in the game. This makes him a pretty tough customer, though limited by his anger, which tires him out. Hawk & Dove are both pretty easy to stat Feat-wise, as they both practically EMBODY offensive vs. defensive tactics in combat. Hawk is expected to use All-Out Attack or Power Attack pretty much all the time.

-Dove was created with a somewhat noble, if flawed idea: a superhero who was a pacifist. Don preferred to talk his way out of fights, and use his agility to dodge criminals. Steve Ditko originally wrote him as kind of a weenie (co-creator Steve Skeates felt that Ditko didn't know what a 'dove' personality really was, being an Objectivist loony), but subsequent writers failed to really capture the character either, and he was summarily offed in Crisis, giving us a female Dove, who was for obvious reasons a lot more favoured as a pacifist. The character's never made a comeback (even though Chick Dove has), and is pretty much done for good. Lesson learned: Don't make your superheroes non-fighting pacifists.
-And of course, since both characters were minor additions to the Titans in the era everyone forgot about (the one between their 60s teen sidekicks era and the Wolfman/Perez era), they barely have any link to them at all.
-Dove has a few more options that Hawk in combat, being quicker and having more ways of attacking (Trip, Finesse, Disarm, etc.). His total Defense Bonus is amazing given his full Dodge Bonus (he didn't get it against the shadow-demon that killed him, hence why he just sat there and took it). Unlike Hawk, however, he doesn't make his caps on offense. Both brothers get good Teamwork scores, making them a pretty good duo.

-Wally West, as Kid Flash, kind of has a tentative point in Titans history, as he was there for almost all the major initial stories (the 60s era, the debut of the Wolfman/Perez era, the mass battles against Trigon, and the Judas Contract), but then rapidly disappeared, having lost his powers, and then taken his mentor's place as The Flash before the 80s were over. This meant that he wasn't a part of almost any other Titans era, save him showing up in Devin Grayson's era Titans pulling double-duty on the JLA and the 10-man Titans squad. It was kind of an interesting gimmick, though by that point, Flash was so powerful a character that they basically had to dumb him down to fight Titans enemies. In the 80s however, Wally was kind of the 'boring guy', the regular guy with powers, dealing with all the nutty characters around him who were all obsessive and stuff, but with a sense of middle-American douchebaggery, as he constantly gave Red Star crap for being a 'commie', etc. He was the one dishing out all the conservative points of view, while the others were all more liberal. Made for a unique perspective, even though Wolfman clearly didn't take his side most of the time, almost making him a strawman at points.
-Super-Speedsters cost a ton of points. Even more bare-bones, PL 10 young adult hero speedsters. 57 points for what is still a VERY good and potent base power. Wally circa JLA-level gets a HELL of a lot more powerful than this, but really, the difference between Super-Speed 10 and Super-Speed 15-20 is kinda neglible, when most combats take place over a twenty-foot distance. He doesn't get a ton of the later Flash bonuses like Regeneration or anything, either.

The JLE Wally and the Messner-Loeb era "sub-sonic" Flash was easily handled with Super-Speed 6 in my mind.

As for Hawk and Dove, I got tired of those two at each others' throats. However, the Kessels' run on Hawk and Dove was one of my favorite comics of all time. Hank started showing resourcefulness and the ability to compromise, and listened better to Dawn than to his brother.

Of course, I loathe and despite the butt-hats who took 20 or so issues of great storytelling and threw it in the trash because they didn't want to lose their precious Monarch Surprise Reveal.

Makes me want to drop Avatar of Chaos Hawk on top of their dumb heads with the force of 50 tons of raging red guy.

you'd have to inclue thekessels on that then. they were approached with the idea and they gave it the green light. in their defence, how they pictured hawk going mad was different from what happened, but hawk became monarch with their blessing.
