Attack/Damage: +6/+5 [+10 Scythe]

*Vanishing:
The character may substitute his Stealth ranks to Feint or Demoralize, hiding suddenly and emerging to strike from an unknown angle or appearing suddenly and without warning. Taking this feat a second time allows for both uses.

DVD Commentary:
The Phantasm, alias Andrea Beaumont, is the former love interest of Bruce Wayne and a professional assassin. Other than that, the build is a traditional semi-Battlesuit/semi-Costumed Adventurer, including a weird Obscure gizmo and a powerful weapon.
Her Scythe's Alternate Powers are based on other techniques, besides just swinging it around. For example, her Burst damage allows her to swing the scythe around and deal a lot of damage to everyone in the area. Her Autofire strike is slashing multiple times in quick succession. The Scythe also enhances her fearsome presence - because, damn, you see that mask coming out of the smoke with a scythe and you tell me he's not a freaky bugger.
She also has a fair critical hit radius - an attack roll of 15 is a good critical, and bypasses her cap to reach +15 damage.

The movie credits roll, and this time, the background of the credits shows Batman in a life-or-death martial arts struggle with...a shadow?

Another rare series, The Sandman Mystery Theatre is on. It's an old series, but the production values are quite good, and the black and white noir grit lens on the art is what makes all the difference.

Initiative/Defense: +3/18
Saves: FORT +2, REF +3, WILL +5, TOUGH +7 [+10]
Attack/Damage: +5/+2

DVD Commentary:
The original Sandman is Wesley Dodds. His gas-gun allows him to put people to sleep, force them to tell the truth (his Selective Area Detect Lies, similar to Alan Scott's green ring), or hide in his own gas screen. Wesley's a decent martial artist, and has prophetic dreams...other than that he's more or less a totally normal human.
His Sleep effect can be done either to a group or a single person, putting them out like lights for the duration. Because Wesley's enemies are normally not going to be too powerful, that DC 18 Will Save is a real threat, as is the DC 16 area effect one.

Sandman Mystery Theatre's credits start playing, indicating that the episode is done. You think you saw the Master lurking in the show itself, but who can tell with the black and white graininess of the episode...?

Machine Control 1
Datalink 4

Initiative/Defense: +4/20
Saves: FORT +4, REF +10, WILL +6, TOUGH +7
Attack/Damage: +3/+1 [+5 Damage]

DVD Commentary:
Hard Drive is a Swat Kats villain who teamed with Dark Kat using a Surge Coat to allow himself several abilities. He can at the basis blast people with Electricity, but his powers are a bit more flexible from there.
First off is his Transmit. He can teleport through Power Lines or any other electrical opening with ease using his Surge Coat, making him extremely dangerous to anyone with even a slight bit of electricity in their homes (so you're safe, Amish Folk!). Next comes his Possession, which, when used in Conjunction with his Transmit, allows him to possess objects from a long distance by hopping in the power lines and fusing from there.
His Machine Control comes up in the actual episode 'Swat Kats Unplugged', where, using his fingertip and the surge coat, he controls the Anti-Weapons Scrambler device to make the Swat Kats [and the gold bullion train's defenses] helpless against him [or so he thought]. It's a very short-range Control but it's helpful when he needs it.
His Datalink is fairly self-explanatory.
As a side-note, his "Catspaws" ability refers to the myth of cats always landing on their feet. Not a specific power anyone in Swat Kats has, but still amusing.

The Swat Kats credits play, the guitar theme being strummed...by the Master, playing the guitar on the side of the screen.

The screen moves back to the image of the mass of villains sitting around their table. Doctor Doom is standing.

"If we do not slay him now," the mad Doctor says, slamming his iron fist on the table, "He will destroy reality as we know it!"

Taskmaster leaned back. "That's kinda bad for business."

Doctor Doom snorted and turned as Vandal Savage entered, sitting down at an unoccupied chair. One by one, many, many more villains entered, the room simply expanding as more entered.

"We must destroy the Master, before Reality is reduced to nothing but his plaything."

The screen pans far away, to the Ascendant Master sitting in his grand chair, the silver fire in his hands...he's smiling about something...

The Dark Masters...HEROES? Stay tuned!

The screen flicks back to the Loners and the Slingers, staring at the Macintosh screen. Prodigy swallows and moves forward, but Hornet cuts him off.

"If this is what I think it is," he says, staring at it with wide eyes behind the mask, "We need to take this to a real hero."

"We are real heroes," Darkhawk replies irritably.

"I mean someone like Captain Marvel...or Spider-Man...or... Hornet stammered on as a black-cowled figure stepped out of the concealment. Batman stood behind them, looking over the information, before whipping out the door, the Batmobile roaring down the street to meet him.

Coming Soon...Batman vs. The Ascendant Master!

Before the new movie, it seems Kerevision's doing another flick...The Matrix.

Saves: FORT +4, REF +5, WILL +6, TOUGH +4
Attack/Damage: +2 [+10 Weapons]/+4

*Every power in the array has the following flaw: Requires Computers Check

DVD Commentary:
The Matrix's protagonist, Mister Anderson is a terror of a fighter. Mister Anderson is a martial artist of exquisite capability, not to mention an incredibly powerful Telekinetic of godlike levels. He can lift more or less anything in the Matrix with his telekinetic strength of -100-; however, he's not able to hurt people with that rank. He can also fly, summon weaponry, hurt people from a distance, use a Force Field, and increase his speed to godlike levels.
In addition, Neo has Matrixvision - allowing him to see the inherent flaws and coding in anyone in the Matrix at all times, as well as the ability to Spidey-Sense when Agents are near/coming. Finally, he has a Mind Shield that slowly breaks apart as he's being protected - sadly, Neo's mind, strong as it is, cannot truly withstand the incredible power of the Matrix.
Fortunately, very few Agents use Will Save effects, so it's really just for show.

The credits roll, but instead of Neo soaring upwards, it's The Master, propelled by the silver flame...he keeps flying, flying, over New York's skyline...and towards Gotham...

Like the Neo build, but I'm wondering where Weapon-Summing comes in? I thought they couldn't have new equipment sent to them once they were in the Matrix?

Yeah, but they aren't the One. Its really just for show from the look of things, but the Matrix is a good reason to use a metric ton of equipment points on all kinds of gear.

Except for his opponents. 8)

Might I enquire who drew the picture of Harley Quinn you have used to illustrate her DVD cover Master Kerian? It looks rather like a combination of Mike Mignola and Bruce Timm, the idea of which combination I rather enjoy.

Oh, and a Jack Knight STARMAN: The Animated series? I salute you sir!

Not to mention the idea of an old 40's Sandman serial in the style of Mystery Theatre. . .

On comes the screen, as usual. This time, it's the Announcer sitting in his chair - the Master is nowhere to be seen.

"The Master's instructions left me to answer questions as he brought the Dark Knight to heel, so that is precisely what I shall do!"

He shifts in his chair.

"The DVD Cover for Harley Quinn is from Wikipedia's art. Neo's Weapon Summoning essentially is simply to show that he can rework reality on a massive level - just like his huge Telekinesis - and that he tends to appreciate mass quantities of weapons."

A fairly fanboyish request to make, but would it be possible to see NYC's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man face off against Venom? Or Green Goblin? Also, I really liked your Ultimate Nick Fury. Could you do Ultimate Spidey? Sorry. I'm a big Spidey fan.

The screen turns on again, the Announcer with his legs folded, beaming at the camera.

"Though Master is still indisposed, he had the time to send me his apologies - Ultimate Spider-Man is similar enough to the current Spider-Man that it must be pushed back a good deal. However, perhaps you will appreciate this news."

He shifts in his chair, holding up a comic book. The camera zooms in on the cover - it's a Marvel book, but drawn in the style of DC's Kingdom Come.

"Master was so taken by DC's Kingdom Come, he was inspired to do apocalyptic episodes of several favorite Marvel Characters."

The Announcer grins.

"Hopefully, this and the soon-to-come Spider-Man battle will placate you...?"

The screen flicks on to Spider-Man, first of the Marvel: Revelations series, a Kerevision exclusive.

Initiative/Defense: +21/20
Saves: FORT +7, REF +13, WILL +5, TOUGH +10
Attack/Damage: +10/+9

History:
It all fell apart so fast. The sniper, the bullet, Cap...Cap.
When Cap died, hope died. Everyone stopped caring. The war flared up again, but not because of ideology, or law...just to get away from the pain.
The war brought more pain. MJ was caught in the crossfire. Aunt May...Aunt May died of a heart attack the next day.
It was all he could do to escape. He sealed himself in the cocoon, and Peter Parker never came back.
Only the Spider. It came, and brought with it rage and pain. It brought fear, it brought misery, it brought horror.
But most of all, it brought justice. Bloody, animalistic justice.
Only the strong survived.
The war moved from New York. The Spider did not. New York was its domain, and all who dwelt in it dwelt there in fear...fear that they would be its next victims...

DVD Commentary:
The Revelations takes place in an alternate Earth just after the extremely controversial Civil War arc. Captain America's death unleashed a new war, one in which the numbers dead from crossfire grew very, very quickly.
Many heroes ran rather than fight. After the loss of his closest loved ones, Spider-Man - Peter Parker, vanished.
What returned is what you can see above. Essentially a consummate predator, the Spider didn't really bother to decide who was right or wrong - it just killed.
The Spider has many echoes of Peter Parker, but ultimately, one shouldn't confuse this killing machine with the original Spider-Man.
Other than that, The Spider is fairly self-explanatory. It meets all its caps, has a Rage to enhance its stats to an absurd degree, isn't intelligent, isn't charismatic...it's an animal in a man's body, because that's what the Spider is.

Marvel: Revelations keeps playing. The Master is nowhere to be seen.
