Amazing The Spider, man (heh. pun...) . Really like it. A quick question, tho: Did The Spider abandon his web-slingers? Or can I assume that he has all uses the previous build has? I ask only because he still has the Swinging.

And did my ears hear correctly? A battle? I must stay tuned!

Marvel: Revelations marches on, proudly proclaiming its apocalyptic visions to the viewer.

Taking the name of the god, he becomes the almighty lord of vengeance.

Initiative/Defense: +5/15

History:
Marc Spector is dead. The Civil War took its toll, and demanded highly of Spector - and above it, his god, Khonshu, demanded higher. In the end, he could no longer take it, surrendering to oblivion.
But Oblivion would not have him. Instead, it was his master, his intractable, fearsome master, who took him to his breast. Marc and Khonshu merged, and the avatar became the god.
Moon Knight rose, but it was Moon Knight no more. In his form was the soul of Khonshu, and the god burst forth to reclaim his domain.
And reclaim it he did. The cities ran red with the Vengeance God's wrath, and people fled in fear of the Moon King Khonshu.
Egypt is his once more, and, like the god he is, Khonshu demands obeisance. And soon, perhaps, the neighboring nations, too...

DVD Commentary:
God-King of Egypt, Moon Knight is no more - only Khonshu remains, and he ain't happy.
Khonshu is the vengeance king of Egypt, lord of the Moon and Tides, and thus, very, very badass. He doesn't dodge pathetic mortal attacks - he just takes them in the face and laughs them off afterwards. In addition, as befits him, he is stronger by far than the strongest man, able to kill with his hands alone.
He has the required double benefit as the Lord of Egypt, and, whenever he is slain, Khonshu rises from the grave a week later - much to the chagrin of his foes. He is constantly surrounded by his "Moon Knights" - servants dressed in his garb meant not to protect him but to recover his body should he actually be incapacitated. They are loyal to Khonshu and Khonshu alone.

The Announcer takes center stage to answer the questions.

"The Spider is not cognizant enough to wield its webslingers in the way Spider-Man originally did - in other words, it does NOT use them to capture foes, preferring instead to beat them to the ground and devour them - yes, it's disgusting, but it's how the monster works. However, The Spider's natural webslingers allow it to use 'muscle memory' to swing from building to building. It's really just a throw-back to Peter - a last glimmer of what he was, instead of what he is."

The old man sits down.

"A battle there will be, when the Master returns from his war..."

The Announcer falls away, Marvel: Revelations taking over once more, the dreary and bloody streets of Manhattan pounded by the eternal rain.

The Scales [Precognition 1, Danger Sense]

Initiative/Defense: +4/25
Saves: FORT +3, REF +4, WILL +10, TOUGH +5
Attack/Damage: +8/+6 [+8 Strike]

History:
Matthew Murdock saw what was happening even before he realized it. Deep in his mind, he knew that the lawlessness would overtake the world - he saw it from the beginning of the Act.
As the Bullet struck the Captain, the Devil ran. He hid, deep in the darkness of the world, and thought.
When he emerged, he was a devil no longer. He was Justice - he was Law. Truth. Order.
And so did the old adage become true. Justice was blind - but in blindness, he saw better than all the others.

DVD Commentary:
Probably the most radical departure to date, Justice plays rough and plays by his own rules. He's all about punishing the guilty - just like Frank Castle - and doesn't care who gets in his way. In fact, if you do get in his way, you're defending the guilty, and that makes you guilty, too.
He's not insane, of course. He can see people quite easily - he knows who's just been duped and who's a liar with his absurd Sense Motive.
Daredevil's thrown away his club for the Sword and Scales of Justice. The sword can cut through even the toughest of foes, and the Scales allow him to see that which even he cannot - and there's not much he can't see.
He singlehandedly terrifies the criminal underworld as Justice. Just imagine him coming out of the shadows behind the Kingpin...

The screen changes to see Hank Pym, in his giant size, sitting in the midst of ruins.

Image
Once the god of size, science has played its final joke.

Titan (Hank Pym)
PL 10/PP 150
Attributes: STR 40 [Capped], DEX 18, CON 30, INT 16, WIS 14, CHA 12

Skills:

Feats:

Powers:
Innate Permanent Growth 20

Initiative/Defense: +4/-2
Saves: FORT +10, REF +4, WILL +2, TOUGH +10
Attack/Damage: -2 [Counting Size]/+15

History:
Time makes fools of all, and none a bigger fool than Hank Pym. Celebrated and hated, Henry was the discoverer of the size-changing Pym Particles, and for a long time, he used them without truly understanding their consequences.
As the war sparked, he thought to contain it. He grew to his greatest height...
...and was frozen at that size. The Pym Particles took their toll - Hank Pym became Giant-Man forever more.
The war did not stop. It consumed him, and he, too, fought with the vigor of a god. Henry lashed out at the world, and the world screamed in terror. Those he had once 'protected' now feared him as the greatest symbol of destruction grown from the greatest alliance of heroes.

DVD Commentary:
Ho-hum. Nothing to say about Titan except that he's Hank Pym stuck in Giant Mode and wishing he could forget and go back to where he was. Not a very good character, but then, Ant/Giant-Man isn't exactly a great character to begin with.
He's very straightforward. Punch your foe with a giant fist, punch them again, punch them again. That's about it.

The Announcer takes center stage again, the apocalyptic visions falling away.

"Marvel: Revelations is The Master's vision of what would occur if Marvel took the route of DC's Kingdom Come series, reimagining characters based on their development from a specific point. Therefore, familiar characters from Marvel have been darkened past the point of recognition, blurring themselves and all that they have ever stood for."

He leans forward.

"It certainly is a dark vision."

The screen goes back to Marvel: Revelations, zooming around Cable's island, Providence. The island is a black husk, and the dead can be seen...roaming about it, skeletons and zombies animated by some foul will. In the center, a man sits, surrounded by the dead and the light of spirits.

Betrayed by the truth he had always seen, he became the place where the dead pool.

Saves: FORT +1, REF +5, WILL +7, TOUGH +10
Attack/Damage: +0/-1

History:
The death of Nathan Summers (a.k.a. Cable) struck a personal chord for Wade Wilson. Driven by grief, he desparately sought an end to the lies he could so clearly see through.
His regeneration burned itself out as his madness peaked. The cancer took over...and yet...
...and yet, Wade Wilson survived, for the door between the Lie and the Truth - the door in the Fourth Wall - was still required. His mind blasted by the other side of the Wall, Wade returned to the blasted ruins of Providence.
Through him did the dead return. And he became The Necromancer, master of the necropolis of Providence.

DVD Commentary:
A massive dead-summoner gone completely insane because of the dual nature of his existence, Wade Wilson doesn't really control any of his powers - they're just there. His force field, for example, just hangs there because the spirits don't want the Necromancer to die. His Shield is the same way - an unconscious protection of a withered husk.
He fights like a normal Mastermind - in other words, he doesn't fight, instead allowing his masses of minions to fight for him. And he has MASSES of fanatical minions - they serve his will, because after all, if they die, the door is right there, right?

The screen flicks closer to the Necromancer. By his side is a skeleton, a skeleton wielding a massive gun, arms and legs solid steel.

Affects Insubstantial Blast 6
Protection 12

Initiative/Defense: +5/10
Saves: FORT (Immune), REF +5, WILL +3, TOUGH +12
Attack/Damage: +8/+7 [+6 Blast]

History:
Cable was the first one the Necromancer sought. As the bomb was dropped on Providence, Nathan tried so hard, so hard to save them...
...but the technopathic powers he had could not stop an A-Bomb.
Providence was blackened, a husk. Deadpool, in his madness, found him hiding in the world of the dead.
Deadpool's tortured psyche dragged Cable back, kicking and screaming, and forced him into the blackened skeleton. He renamed himself Tether, the link between life and death, and became The Necromancer's protector...and the Necropolis's erstwhile guardian.

DVD Commentary:
Tether is essentially a blaster with a high toughness, immunity to FORT saves, and the ability to blast spirits with his arm-guns. He's a dangerous entity, but, like many of the Revelations characters, is fairly one-dimensional. Still, that doesn't diminish the fact that he's effectively a SKELETON with METAL ARMS that shoot ENERGY RAYS. Emphasis on Skeleton, Metal Arms, and Energy Rays.
And yes, the picture is a Terminator.

History:
In the aftermath of the death of Steve Rogers, though many tried to fill his shoes, only one man could truly claim to be the next symbol behind which the metahumans could rally.
It was not Frank Castle. It was not Tony Stark, for he was slain at the prior's hands. It was not Professor X, or Cyclops, or Wolverine.
It was Captain America, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was General Nick Fury.
Taking up the stars-and-stripes, he did honor to the memory of Steve Rogers, and became the next Captain America.

DVD Commentary:
It's Ultimate Nick Fury's build merged with Captain America's. There's really not much else to say. Captain Nick can fling his shield around better than Cap can, because he's Nick ****in' Fury, but he does less damage overall than Cap. For that, he has his submachine gun, which is overall longer-range than Cap's shield and has served him just as well just as often.
Oh, and he's also ageless because of the Infinity Formula. Other than that, there's really nothing more to say.

The screen clicks on. The Master and the Batman are locked in combat.

The Batman rolled the higher initiative, so he gets the first strike.

"I know what you're planning," Batman grunts, jumping over the Master's punch and hitting him in the back. He rolled to the side to avoid the retaliation...and rolled right into a geyser of silver flame.
"What you know does not concern me, Mister Wayne," the Master answers, his hand thrown out imperiously to guide the metallic fire, "Because you will, in a matter of moments, be dead."

Bats nails the Ascendant Master a good one on the first blow, but the Master's Force Field absorbed the shot. Bruce, however, took the second shot poorly, and got Bruised. Bruce also gets a Hero Point for the Master knowing his Secret (Identity), so he's at 3.

Batman grits his teeth and ducks to the side, flinging a Batarang at the Master. The black-and-red projectile soars at the white-haired man, slicing across his cheek. The Master laughs.
"Come now, Mister Wayne. Is that the best you can do?" The Master clucks his tongue, and a green-haired man in a purple suit forms in front of Bruce, a diabolic grin on its face and a flower in its hand. The figure hurls the flower at Batman, a blade ejecting from the end of it as it slices past his arm.

The Master saves once more thanks to his Force Field, but he's taking a bit more of a risk now, pumping his damage back up at the cost of his Force Field. Batman takes another rank of Bruised, saving his hero points to finish the fight instead of keep himself alive.

"You're crazy." Bruce replies, rolling forward and digging into his belt. He flings a gas pellet at the Master, who brushes it aside like it was nothing. A moment later comes another burst of silver fire, wrapping around his body.

Bruce saves on his disbelief of the Joker-illusion, but the fire's a little too much for him. Still, Batsy tried a good tactic - the gas would bring any human down. But Bruce isn't dealing with a human.

"You're mine." The Batman charges, grabbing the Master by the arm and leaping over him, vanishing into the shadows. The Master tilts his head.
"You're running away from me, then, Mister Wayne. I don't much appreciate that."
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
The Master's eyes widened in horror.

Bruce burns a hero point to come up with a Master Plan on the fly, another hero point to save on his Acrobatics check, using his foe as a vault, and then blows another to vanish into the shadows like the Batman he is, after leaving the Master a little surprise. The Master fails his notice check, and thus, can't see Batsy.

Boom.
The explosion tears through the street, ripping apart everything in its path. Bruce huddles behind a dumpster, breathing quietly, listening for any sound indicating his foe's defeat. After a moment, he dodges around the corner, ready to strike, but there's no one there. The whole street's been repaired...

Bats does a huge load of damage to the Master, but fails his will save for disbelieving the illusion of the street...

From somewhere - nowhere - comes the strike. Bruce doesn't even have time to defend against it, silver fire blazing through his chest. He falls over, and the street ripples, revealing the Master, licking his lips and holding a blazing pillar of flame. He is unharmed, undamaged, his clothes unscuffed...the entire street, however, is in ruins. Batman's quick-whipped-up bomb didn't seem to have any effect.
"Good-bye, Mister Wayne." The Master says, sweeping down in a bow.

The Batman critically fails his Toughness save, and he's all out of hero points, having burned them earlier to save himself...the Master, on the other hand, saved against Bruce's bomb (by sheer luck - a natural 20. Anything less would've left him stunned and open prey, since he put his whole array into his illusions). Bats got very unlucky...you can bet there'll be a rematch.

The Winner: The Ascendant Master is a tough enough customer that Batman had to pull out a bomb to even scratch him. The Master's immunity to the gas was Bruce's clue that he couldn't treat the Master like a human - no human is immune to such things. So he flipped out a big ol' bomb, which had a great chance to stop the Master...and got very, very unlucky.
The fight was very even, but I think Bruce deserves another shot at greatness. Of course, a Joker/Harley vs. Batman fight is almost -required-, now isn't it...?

Interesting match. Seemed to be decided simply by a couple of (un)lucky rolls. I must go and look over your builds to compare the Master and Batman.
