I'm so similar to you in this regard its scary, JD!

I really like 3rd edition's approach to ability scores, but it took a while for me to get my head around it. And I too only own the PDF so far. Would get the hard copy if I wasn't dirt-poor.

It's not that much difference, but yes, it took even me a while to wrap my head around some of it. But thankfully, now that I do.. I've been going back, and stream lining a lot of my builds lately. I've grown to like 3E more than the 2E, though there are some trade offs to it. 3E's elegant nature really has merit, but it is quite the jump from 2e to 3e, when your used to having saves/defenses above normal. And for the most part humans, don't have a strength greater than 3, 7 in everything else. Though honestly, I find myself caping most "normal" humans about 5. With 6-7 for the really exceptional ones.

I'd still like to get my hands on actual physical copy of the book.. Sometimes reading a PDF, is really inconvienient for me. I'm just poor as Sin these days.


I've grown to like 3E better for the most part, too. And it's definitely easier to run and play with newbies.

You know, about the book, I did the book/$5 PDF combo order when the MnM 3E handbook came out because I originally felt the same way, but really, I do all my building on the computer so I use the PDF all the time. My paper book is sitting and gathering dust God knows where. :shock:

For me there is still something about a hard-copy, especially of gaming books that I find attractive, but what can ya do, the price has to be right and I'm poor.

Good to see you back and posting new stuff, dweller!

Minor notes about the Kiushi Initiates, in 3E its called Perception, not Notice.

And from how I count, their Powers only add up to 18 points. Remember, Wings is a -1 per rank Flaw for Flight, not a flat -1. So their Flight only costs 3 points.

In my defense I made those stats a while back and am only just now posting them. The flight thing is something I was not aware of though. Very interesting and useful.

On the perception versus notice... would you believe I meant to do that? :wink:

Description: Appearing as a humanoid with a single oculus, and few to no other features, Myo is also a giant. His skin is green, and tendrils of the curse radiate from his oculus.

Background: Maladrites are the more refined side of Demons, and they are also somewhat younger. Myo is an old Maladrite and nemesis of Mother Mercy. Like all Maladrites the source of his immortality is a marred version of the Immortad spiritual property, resulting in some vulnerability. For this reason, Myo has not often gone to war in the human world since the founding of the Kism about seven centuries ago. Before that he fought against the demons of Iem, Gorsheva, Mother Mercy, and the Elder and sometimes allied with them when they clashed with the Primes. He founded the Kism with the other four members and is the first Maladrite the followers of the Kism reach out to when seeking aid. Ironically, his power is in Demortad, making him less receptive to the pleas of most mortals.

Richard is the first character of this new setting, and the only one who is a flat-out remake. He's a good deal beefier than the last version of him I made way back in second edition.
