I'm not sure Touch sense dependent is kosher for a Close range power. But maybe I just don't understand it right. Do you mean direct skin-to-skin contact, as opposed to touching someone over armor or clothes, or a costume, as you might with normal Close range powers (Affliction, Damage)?

If so, that seems less like a -1 Flaw, which Sense-Dependent is, and more like a Quirk. Especially sense Touch is the one Sense you can't have Concealment from.

Skin-to-skin is required. But your right, that is more of quirk.

EDIT: That just means it should be the Alternate Power, rather than the concealment. I'll edit that.

Edit 2: Decided the only way to make it work was reduced mind-reading rank. It's more of an-off-chance perk sort of power now.

I get tired of building and posting them occasionally, but at least people want to see the ones I do finish!

It's a bad habit of mine across the board--half-finished books and half-finished builds.

But that doesn't really matter. I'm starting to get back in the swing of things.

Garth is like my old character, the Human Nebula, a self-contained mini-universe inside a human being. This sort of character isn’t one-of-a-kind in the Ghost Age, but most don’t even reach Garth’s moderate level of control over their powers. Garth is also known as a hunter of the star-ghouls, creatures that sap the power of the nearest star and gain phenomenal powers from it. Also, Garth is an executive in a large power company, but that does't come up often, as he is a hands-off sort of boss.

Well then we are the ones who benefit!! I always enjoy your builds Dweller, you bring something to these characters, that make them stand out. Something I wish I was more adept at doing with my own. Probably cause I can never stay on just one thing for long.. lol Anyways, keep up the good work!

Description: Layne is a powerfully built black-skinned man, massive and muscular. He has grown used to fighting and running, and takes pride in the right sneak attack rather than the wrong open battle. The ghost of John Dee helps keep him ahead of the monsters magically, but it isn’t just that--Layne himself is scarily intelligent.

Background: When he was a boy, Layne was raised as one of the tunnel-dwelling slaves of the beast Halashash’s Silver Tower, a slave among slaves to keep the house of full of monsters running. Eventually the fungal infection used to suppress Layne’s growth began to fail and he escaped from the tunnels before he could grow so large as to be trapped within them. He lived on the streets of the Old City, doing his best to avoid its monstrous inhabitants and the often cruel nobles for a decade. He survived so long with the help of the Ardine Group, an order of human rebels who dwell both among the nobility and the street craft and who initiated Layne after his long service with them in his 25th year. The initiation was an ordeal, but when it was over, Layne found himself bonded with an ancient ghost, the ghost of one of the humans who once ruled the world eons ago… Doctor John Dee. The good doctor has been an active partner in Layne’s endeavors ever since. Only recently has Layne started to see visions of another kind altogether, the image of a young woman named Rena who occasionally helps, and occasionally inconveniences him with her appearances.

Notes: I built this guy as a different take on an old concept. In a city ruled by monsters he is a pretty small-fry, but give him enough time to prepare and he can whip up some major butt-kicking with the help of the Ghost. I like how he turned out--one part grizzled streetfighter, the other part sorcerer if not a spell-slinger. Also, I’m trying to keep some builds at standard cost, just because I think it is more entertaining to build with some restrictions.

Background: Born in House Rankin’s darkest warrens, deep under the city, Tiros grew up being trained as a street hunter and potential assassin in the sweltering climbs of Agony’s Mantle, a place where magma seethes just beneath the surface. He survived on a steady diet of fresh meat and stimulants for most of his life. After earning his way to the surface, Tiros began to seek his own ends, gradually leaving his house’s interests behind in favor of the most beautiful and thrilling hunts and with them, the most terrible kills. His favorite prey is of course, the lowborn humans of the city.

Notes
Johan is quite a mercenary, and a great shot, but he comes into his own only when piloting Scylla and commanding its drones. The carrier itself is weaponless, unlike most of those that see actually military service, but that is hardly a major concern with eight heavily armed Morae drones at Johan’s disposal. The carrier itself isn’t like a lot of spaceships pictured in fiction, in that it has no living space and would be rather uncomfortable to live in for any amount of time. Scylla’s nanotechn recovery nodes are the most remarkable thing about the ship in this setting, as most carriers (Read: pretty much all the others) cannot handle any major level of damage.
