More 4e conversions will be coming in the near future.

I have been busy with art commissions, which has kept me away from my thread, but most of the art is done.

 This dragon, Ashardalon, is a major villain. He was put forth as the final boss monster for the series of modules written when 3rd edition was first released. Ashardalon ruled a vast cult who tried to make their dragon overlord into a living god. The dragon was defeated by a powerful druid and did everything in its power to stay alive, even binding a balor demon into its body after his heart was ripped out (The Balor is freed upon Ashardalon's death, hence the Summon power).

Preach on, brother. I started running M&M Fantasy games more than a year before Warriors & Warlocks came out, and 4E has actually provided me with more players. And your critter builds have been a huge part of that, so thanks. And more, please. :)

 One of the lesser-powered of the angelic forces: the Angel of Valor. They look really cool! I recently purchased a D&D mini set and got one of these guys in the box. Its a really pretty figure!

 I know that Drains are not supposed to be made Sustained in Duration... I know. But I could not think of any other way to get the Angelic Presence Aura to work. The Shield Power or extra Defense Bonus did not seem like the right effect, because it is supposed to directly impact others (giving them a -2 to Attack Rolls).

 EDIT -- Forgot to add the No Save extra to the Drain effect.

I would have to say that the rule (not making Drains sustained) is only there to prevent the abuse of the power. As this usage has a very limiting flaw, I would say it is ok.

Re: Prodigy Duck's Beastiary and More (4e Yeenoghu)

Method Behind the Madness

Some folks may be wondering about how I develop the 4e conversions, givine how 4e is so different from 3rd edition (and thus M&M). The trick is the Level Bonus that all creatures in 4e get.

For those who are unaware, 4e gives a level bonus to all characters and monsters equal to one-half the creature's level (rounded down). This level bonus is applied to all sorts of rolls, such as Attack Rolls, Defenses, Skill Checks, Ability Score Checks, Initiative, etc. Thus, if a creature is 14th level, they gain a +7 bonus to a multitude of different rolls.

It is this Level Bonus that I base my conversions upon. For example, The Yeenoghu conversion I have just finished is based on the Yeenoghu description in Dragon Magazine #364. In that issue, Yeenoghu is a 28th level opponent; thus, he has a +14 level bonus. 14 is the number I concentrated on. His special attacks (like Filthy Curse and Crushing Grasp) all all rank 14, due to this outlook. The Ribbons of Flesh attack is rank 8 because in the 4e description the attack causes opponents to lose -4 from their Attack Rolls. Otherwise, I try to follow the Level Bonus guideline. The guideline also give me a basis for the creature's base Saving Throw bonuses (I just look up what the save bonus is for a 14th-level outsider, in the case of Yeenoghu).

Also, in the context of conversions, I am using the basic creature guidelines based on Pathfinder rather than basic 3.5 D&D (which is why Yeenoghu has a poor Fort save and good Ref and Will saves).

Given how basic the 4e creature descriptions are, I usually have to guess as to what Skills and Feats to give the converted monsters...

The one thing I can say is how nice 4e is to do these conversions. The descriptions of the creatures are not so convoluted and packed with spell-like abilities. Also, the higher-end monsters (like Orcus and Yeenoghu) don't seem to be so out of the power scale that PC heroes cannot face them in battle (the 3.5 Orcus conversion is PL 23, compared to the PL 16 4e conversion).
