well, it is the new bond. he's new at this sort of thing in comparison to his predecessors.

what? surely i'm not the only one who feels 'james bond' is as much part of the code name as 007?

at any rate, i just thought i'd cross-ollinate from my neck of the woods to let folks know the hoffpocalypse has come and gone.

Hank Pym is no longer the object of scorn and derision

It's probably not that he's less Attractive, but rather that he is better at using Bluff and Diplomacy than he would be if he just got by on his looks. He doesn't need people to be attracted to him, but it does help.

Normally, I'd agree. But this is 007 we're talking about. He's good at bluffs, diplomacy, and all those other social skills... but with women, he's supernatural.

Nobody does it better...

Seeing how there's only one or two "bond girls" per movie, it sounds more like a judicious use of a Hero Point for a good roll - perhaps gained from some sort of complication?

Great work on Commander Bond. But I have to ask only one rank of Attractive? And zero foreign languages?

I did give give him some foreign languages, actually, I just forgot to put them on his Word doc that I post from. Thanks for the catch. It is by no means all inclusive, of course, but since I was focusing more on the ACTION! Bond, I thought they were OK.

I didn't think Bond at this point was the playa that Moore and Connery were so I only gave him one rank. It is certainly debatable.

I'm a bigger "Book Bond" fan than a movie Bond fan; I mean, I love the movies (even TWINE), but the Ian Fleming novels are just a personal weakness.

The Spy Who Loved Me novel makes pretty explicit that Bond just makes women melt through sheer animal magnetism. Plus, I figure anything Connery had going in that department, Craig certainly does.

Perhaps, I'll put in a special order from the fine folks at J-Mart: Bulk Order Bond! Stats for Sean, George, Roger, Tim, Pierce, and Daniel...

Only if you help fill the order because I (get ready to put in the request to have my man card pulled) am not that big of a Bond fan, but I'm hoping the team can come through with some builds to help with your order.

Builders Notes:Okay, here's the wackiest idea. An Amalgam of Deadpool and loki, but im going for a spin here on that toki. Loki has given Deadpool a magical belt, which empowers him with the powers of a Trickster. This character is built as an NPC, i dont see any GM with their right minds putting this guy into the hands of a player. Besides, this gives something fun for the GM to throw at the players. >=) A really twisted GM will give Deadpool an increased Dimensional Travel, so he can breach the 4th wall.

OMG, that is awesome! I could see Deadpool cracking the 4th Wall against my players, allowing me to whack them upside the head as him! :D

I do get the feeling you might have watched Hulk vs. recently, though...

Man, good stuff from JD, Batgirl is kickin' it again, Kerian put out new stuff, IK and Eld are posting, Tattooedman is still posting at a old Kreuz-like pace, and Taliesin and Kreuz have been putting out stuff again, too. All we need is Baron to come back out of exile and Wordmaker to start writing again and we'll have the board rivaling the glory days of late 2007! :D

ok delivering as promised:
Nightwing and Bullseye after hearing their names called by the judge find themselves enveloped by the now all too familiar yellow light; find themselves in a condemned amusement park that has fallen into disrepair. But unlike the previous battles, neither sees the other as they are on opposite sides of the park. The judge appears in front of each, and says "This contest is going to be different; the goal is to be the first one to successfully complete two of three trials within the park. The first is trial is located at the house of mirrors. Upon completion you will be given the location of the second, and then the third. Now, may the best man win"

Both combatants find their way to the house of mirrors. Nightwing arriving just before Bullseye. He heads in to the challenge and he looks about and notices a table with some papers on it. He walks over to the table, and finds 2 maps of the house. He picks one up and a flashing X appears with the words ‘you are here’ next to it. He heads off deeper into the house as Bullseye arrives. He walks over and discovers the map and as soon as he picks it up the X appears. Both notice as bullseye picks up his map that another 2 more of the X’s appear one with the words ‘ you want to be here’ the other says nothing but for Bullseye, is moving forward. He quickly realizes it has to be Nightwing, and takes off after him. Bullseye finds that he seems to be in a different hallway then Nightwing although his marker seems to catch up to the other marker. So he backs up a few feet and grabs a grenade from his belt, pulls the pin, and throws it at the wall next to where the other marker is indicated. The grenade hits the wall and explodes but the wall doesn’t seem to be damaged. The Judge appears in front of Bullseye and says “No cheating allowed” before disappearing. “that wasn’t cheating I was just gunna expedite the end “ Bullseye says as he walks the maze only to end up across the room from Nightwing, as the judge appears and says “The first one to grab the pendant I’ve suspended in the center will be declared the winner of this challenge.” Nightwing hurls a nightarang at Bullseye who moves just in the nick of time, as the nightarang slices a piece of his costume. The nightarang whizzes past his head, and arcs back to be expertly caught by Nightwing. He pulls a few cards from his belt and lets loose in Nightwing’s direction, but Nightwing easily dodges the attack. Nightwing dives forward, rolls with the landing, and throws his bat bolos. Bullseye twists and tries to beat the bolos and manages to do so. “ nice try you’ll have to do better then that to beat me kid” Bullseye breaks out his gat and tried to bust a cap in the intrepid hero. Nightwing makes it look easy as he dodges the shot. He makes his way towards the pendant and reaches up and pulls it down. On the back of the pendant an inscription reads ‘Fun House’. The Judge appears infront of Bullseye. “Tough break, but Nightwing wins this challenge.” The Judge waves his hand and the both contestants disappear. ”Now, find your way to the fun house.” As The Judge utters the last words, he disappears again. Bullseye and Nightwing find themselves outside and at separate areas of the park yet again, and make their way towards the funhouse.

Round 1 Nightwing rolls a 11 + 10= 21 for initiative bullseye rolls 2 + 9= 11, bad start for Bullseye. Nightwing attacks using his patented Nightarang 6 + 12 = 18 Bullseye dodges 8 + 12 = 20, talk about close, he decides he is going to give Nightwing a taste of his own medicine and gets 12 + 14 = 26. Nightwing dodges, 16 + 13 = 29, almost as if he expected this, and easily ducks the return fire. He then makes an acrobatics action to tumble towards the center of the room, 17+18=35, and attacks with his bolos 16+9=25. Bullseye tries to dodge, and rolls 3 +12 = 15, it is just not bullseye’s day is it? He then makes a reflex save for 13 + 8 = 21. He beats the DC by 7 and avoided getting ensnared. Bullseye pulls his pistol and tries to make Nightwing's day. He gets a 14 + 14 = 28 to hit, and Nightwing rolls a natural 20 to dodge! 20 +13 = 33. Bullseye never had a chance on this one.

At the funhouse Nightwing is faced by The Judge, and a minute later Bullseye walks up as The Judge speaks “In this trial, your goal is simple. Be the first man to reach the center chamber and retrieve the Bracer from its case and move on to the third and final trial.” The doors open and Nightwing and bullseye both start down the hallway. Bullseye stops and throws a rock he picked up on the way. Nightwing noticed Bullseye stop, but couldn’t get out of the way of the rock, which bounces off of his back causing him to stumble. Nightwing turns and throws a wingding, but Bullseye easily dodges it, and it flies passed him and out the door back into the amusement park. Bullseye all-out runs, and goes to pass Nightwing in the hallway, and manages to dodge the clothesline that Nightwing threw to block him. Bullseye attempts to throw Nightwing into the wall, but Nightwing out maneuvers him. Nightwing decides that Bullseye had the right idea and tried the same thing on him. Nightwing issues Bullseye a judo style flip the slams him back-first into the concrete wall. Luckily, Bullseye is made of stern stuff and shrugs it off, but is still prone. Bullseye takes this opportunity to catch Nightwing off-guard. He rolls to one side, rising to his feet. As he does, he pulls a few cards, one of which flies at Nightwing’s head. The other cards, attempt to pin Nightwing to the wall. Nightwing fails to see the attack for what it is and gets pinned. Nightwing knows he has to escape to win this gambit, and attempts to do so. Nightwing escapes the pin easily enough, nothing that he wasn’t prepared for. Meanwhile, Bullseye beats him into the chamber, and inside he sees that getting to the bracer isn’t going to be as easy to get as the last item. The bracer is suspended above a pit in the ground. As he begins to walk into the room he steps on a plate, and back flips off of it as it sinks into the ground. The plate stops with a click, and the room begins to spin and every few seconds, spikes come crashing out of the pit sure to impale anyone they touch. Bullseye hears Nightwing grunt as he throws a nightarang at Bullseye’s back. Bullseye dives to the side, as the nightarang thumps off of one arm. Bullseye runs at the pit in the center, as Nightwing runs just in the doorway, and fires off his grapple towards the ceiling. Bullseye leaps from the edge of the pit grabs the cable that is suspending the bracer, and uses it to clear the pit right before the spikes come racing up” I knew that was a fluke kid”. The spikes stay in place as the room stops turning. The Judge then appears and says “Good show, now, to the final trial. You have to face each other one on one, winner walks out of here as per the contest rules.” As he disappears so does the fun house.

Round 2 Starts with Bullseye throwing the rock 10 + 14 = 24 to attack, Nightwing rolls defense 10 + 13 = 23, not good enough. Nightwing rolls his toughness save and gets 12 + 7 = 19, he failed by 3, so he takes a bruised mark. Nightwing retaliates with his wingding 15+13 = 28 bullseye rolls defense he rolls a 20 + 12 = 32. Bullseye then goes to run past Nightwing and Nightwing throws his arm out in a clothesline. Nightwing rolls a 12 + 13 = 25 for his attack, Bullseye rolls a 13 + 12 = 25 and ties the attack, negating it. Bullseye will attempt to flip Nightwing into the wall, he rolls a 17 + 9 = 26, Nightwing defends with a 16 + 13 = 29. Nightwing tries to do the same trick, and gets a 15 + 13 = 28, Bullseye defends with a 6 + 12 = 18, not so nice. Bullseye’s toughness save vs. the stone wall is DC 20. He gets a 15 + 8 = 23, and is otherwise unharmed. Bullseye then will attempt to regain his feet, feint as a move-action, and surge to do a ranged pin, granting Nightwing a hero point. Bullseye rolls a 19! + 11 (Bluff) – 5 = 25. Nightwing will try to see through the ruse with a 12 + 12 = 24! Oh so close, but not good enough. Nightwing gets treated as surprised for the attack. Bullseye gets a 19 + 14 = 33 to hit, and Dick gets a reflex save to avoid the cards, gets a 5 + 13 = 18. Nightwing winds up pinned to the wall by multiple cards. Nightwing must get free with either a DC 15 strength or escape artist check, he takes 10 on the check, as per skill mastery, and gets a 21, easily passing the check, and freeing himself. As Bullseye steps onto the trigger plate he rolls a 13 + 8=21 acrobatics for the back flip in the spinning room, he then makes a notice check 14 + 10 = 24 to hear Nightwing grunt as he throws the nightarang for 11+12= 23. Bullseye makes his defense save 14 + 12=26 just barely makes his save, he then bolts for the center. Nightwing fires his grapple in an attempt to get there first. I will have them make opposing dex checks for this last part. Bullseye gets a 13 + 5 = 18, and Nightwing rolls defense 5 + 6 = 11. Bullseye then jumps to grab the bracer and this ends the trial.

Nightwing “we will see if it was a fluke or if you just got lucky last time” runs up to bullseye quick draws his Escrima sticks and attacks. He connects, knocking Bullseye a good one. Bullseye is stunned from the blow and can’t act for this round. Nightwing attacks again and connects with a escrima stick to the head stunning bullseye again. Nightwing swings a 3rd time and connects again, this time Bullseye crumples to the ground unconscious. Nightwing finds himself surrounded by the yellow light and back in the locker room. Bullseye finds himself back in his lair when he regains consciousness. “Good job Nightwing. Next is Hardkor Darkness and Lobo” as they hear their names, they find themselves enveloped in the light, and off to the battle field

Round 1, for initiative Bullseye rolls 3 + 9 = 11 Nightwing rolls 14 + 10 = 24. Nightwing runs up, uses quickdraw, and attacks bullseye with his escrima sticks 18 + 13 = 31. Bullseye rolls defense, 17 + 12 = 29, not good enough. He rolls toughness, 5 + 8 = 13 – 2 = 11 he takes a bruised and stunned and cannot act this round.
Round 2, Nightwing attacks again 2 + 13 = 15, Bullseye rolls defense, 1 + 12 = 13, then rolls toughness, 2 + 8 - 4 = 6 he gets knocked out by the last blow. Ending this fight, and this round of combat.
