And here I was expecting to see a certain archfoe of the infamous Dr. Venture... Sadly, like so many butterflies, my dreams were crushed by feet of life...

At least I got some chuckles seeing that Mordru fellow and how he seems to be on a steady diet of too much coffee with that look on his face...

Nice Team Wrecker night

Postby Wyld0007 » Fri May 29, 2009 8:40 pm

very nice Team Wrecker builds Thorp!

Chemo is absolutely sick. actually they all are. i like.

one of my favourite JLU episodes was the one where Booster Gold is the main character and the whole JLU is fighting Mordru. kinda showed how much of big-wig he is

also, while i'm here, how does one become a "J-Mart" employee? i'm a casual, occasional M&M character builder and am starting to get a good feel for the system, but don't know if i'd ever start up my own intensive roster like the one found here at J-Mart. i'd be interested in supplying some builds occasionally. and they'd probably be the rarely seen characters that i started on my own thread like the ones from Dark Horse and stuff like that.

Wyld, there is a very intensive application process to work at J-Mart.

Not much of a conversationalist, but man, does he know how to make an entrance!

CHEMO
PL:
13 (196 pp) – OPL: 12; DPL: 11

Hey, nice Chemo, looks like one nasty piece or work.

POWERS:
Growth 12 (Extras: Action [Continuous], Flaw: Permanent, PF: Innate [37pp]) [12]

Attack/Def -4, Grapple +12, Stealth -12, Intimidation +6, Space 20ft, Reach 15ft, Strength +24, Con +12, Carrying Strength +15

Note that growth gives a toughness bonus to constructs, so his Toughness save should be modified accordingly.

AP: Snare 13 (Extra: Independent, Cone Area [1pp]) [13] - DC:23:ref

A Snare, as an instant effect, does not nor does it need the Indepenndent extra. You have to bump the duration up to Sustained if you want to apply that extra.

Nice Ultron build, Thorp! I like how his Impervious is high, but he doesn't have total immunity to damage. I know the Hulk's fist has cracked adamantium before, and in a cross-company type thing, Supes could probably rattle him around pretty good.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one hoping for Venture Bros. Monarch lol. I'd request him but i don't think he'd fit into Thorp's TEAM WRECKER theme too well  though a good ole Brock Samson update might :D.

He's coming, guys, he's coming. I actually started both Monarch's them at the same time, but I got sidetracked on the husband of Dr. Mrs. Monarch. I've got a Venture run in the works in the near future, don't worry. As I push for personal build #1000, I was thinking I had done all my milestone worthy builds but then it hit me I still have (amongst other icons and personal faves):

Monarch
James T. Kirk
Luke Skywalker
Yoda
Jonathan and Martha Kent (tell me there's more important people in the comic universe and I'll debate all day, check Red Sun or Speeding Bullets for what could have happened if they hadn't raised Clark right)
Godzilla
King Kong
Master Chief
Kratos
Mario

And more that could be worthy of a milestone build like that. And Brock does an update, thanks Luke! 8)

That was my thinking. Thor and others have been shown to hurt him at times, so it's not like he's Juggernaut, he's just made out of really tough stuff.

But if you don't have a high level paragon with you at the time, you have to outsmart him somehow, which is always a fun challenge to throw at PCs and a good test as GM.

I honestly did not know that about Toughness for constructs. I thought it was for characters with Con only, but that makes sense. I'll have to rework him and a few others characters as well, apparently. I was getting ready to work on some Hollows from Bleach, so it's a good thing you hipped me to that now.

I guess what I was going for with the Independent extra on Snare was him blasting out some goop and it sticking to the target and taking a while to go away, but that is redundant with Snare as written. Thanks again for the tip.

Hitting the Aisle 2 shelves is a quick new addition to our Villain's Line.

*Sigh* If only that were true, my friend. But yet Pym's suckiness survived to to continue to plague us many years hence...

Comments: Equinox holds a special place in my heart because he helped me see the true beauty of Pym’s suckiness back when I started reading comics back in the 70’s. In the comic where the picture above came from, Pym and Janet were teamed up with Spidey and were taking him on Equinox. So Equinox blew up a tanker or something and it looked like Hank was toast. So Janet was the one who went off and did most of the damage to Equinox before Hank showed up out of nowhere with an invention to nullify his powers.

That’s right, Janet had to defend the family honor while Hank was off tinkering in the lab. *Sigh* *Sigh*

Anyway, onto Equinox. He started out as an Iceman and Human Torch villain who basically had both of their powers. I was going to build his cold and heat arrays as APs of each other, but from reading the comics, the way his powers work is that he experiences thermal shifts and when his body is covered in ice, he uses his fire powers. When he is covered in fire, he shoots ice. So I gave him two alternate forms with those arrays and a few other powers accessible when he is in those forms. It cut back on the PP for APs, but with some GM fiat or proper HP usage, he can do whatever he needs in the situation.

Comments: A long time Marvel powerhouse, Tiger Shark. He’s been an enemy of Namor’s for some time, taking a whooping from him and coming back for more time and time again. Gotta love his never say die spirit, even if he’s not quite in Namor’s class. Lately, he’s been going at it with Deadpool and with Rulk’s version of the Offenders. He's still getting pwned, but at least he looks cooler doing it.

You can't feel too bad if you job to Namor. After all, Namor regularly gets into fist fights with the Hulk and the Thing, and ends up flattening Ben and having to be tamed by Doctor Strange when he's punching it out with the Hulk!

And it's not as if his attack on the Avengers in one issue was another sign of suckiness. It was him and Whirlwind versus She-Hulk and the Wasp.

You want to talk about a job squad member... "Whee! I'm an obsessed creep who dresses like a Bakugon and stalks a pixie who continually kicks my ass!"

I actually think Jennifer smacked him over the head with a station wagon in that fight.
