•From the pages of X-Force, Uncanny X-Men, and X-Force once again, James Proudstar here is the brother of one of the all-new, all-different X-Men, Thunderbird. After his brother died during a mission, James blamed Professor Xavier, and joined Emma Frost's Hellions, eventually turning away from evil and becoming a member of X-Force under Cable. He's remained a lesser-known X-Man, the kind who's never been a prominent member of the main team, but always one of the lesser groups.

•He's strong, tough, fast, and has mild super-human senses, nothign overwhelming but still definitely super-human. He's also a better fighter than most bricks, and with his Vibranium knives (a gift from Storm, I think) he has Penetrating damage that can let him pierce the skin of such mighty foes as the Hulk. He's under-pointed cause he's nothing spectacular, but is tough enough to hit his caps and be a firm PL 10. Experience will probably fill in the pp caps soon enough, especially if one wants him to fly (a rarely-used ability best saved for Power Stunting, IMO).

Congrats on 200 builds.

however...I have to wonder WHY your Warpath is SO underpowered. If your going by the X-Force writing...then they have done him little to no justice, basically because of Wolverine. If you go back to his time with the X-Men, specially in the Vulcan/Shiar storylines, Warpath is a one man wrecking crew that makes Wolverine look impotent.

Not only that, but Warpath had been described as "a young Collossus" by Cable in terms of strength.

That's more than 28.

Warpath's been one of my favourite X-characters for years, but his powers have been all over the place. X-Force (the 90s run) made NO mention of super-senses, and he was instead the team's "Strong Guy", drawn as being eight feet tall, arms bigger than his key love interest's whole body, rather than the svelte tough guy seen in the New Mutants series. He became normal-sized and could FLY later, but then they got rid of THAT, and now he's more of a scrapper than a powerhouse. How strong is he supposed to be now?

Underpowered? He's got a professional level melee attack. With those knives he hits as hard as a tank , add his penetrating extra AND Power Attack and he can hurt just about anyone. He's got Takedown attack for mooks, good skills and Teamwork for the team thing. Add everything together and you got one mean sunava bitch!

Grats on 200 Eld!

I don't think Warpath looks underpowered at all. Thor, on the other hand, looks like he needs a little more ooomph. PL 12 just seems a bit too low for someone so mighty.

I think Praetorian is referring to the fact that Marvel.com says James has strength in the 70 ton range and that he's a wicked melee combatant. That said, it's all a matter of interpretation and as you and Luke state, he's still head and shoulders above a ton of characters in that aspect.

The PL thing for Thor is tricky. It depends on the level of your campaign. I have Thor at PL15, Taliesin has him at PL15, but Jabroniville has him at PL12 as does Batgirl III and I have him at PL10 for a "playable" version, as does Kerianvalentine, and probably others. Some folks like a wider spread of PLs, some like a flatter spread, it depends on the whim of the builder.

I can't remember the last time my builds created this much interest.

With both Thor and Warpath, they have higher than normal attack bonuses, both in the low expert range, and they both have Power Attack, which is a very powerful feat. Thor might be a little low, compared to how he's depicted sometimes, but he can boost his damage up to +20, thanks to Power Attack, a modifier described in the core book as 'cosmic.' At base, he dishes out enough damage to hurt my Superman build (actually he might be able to beat Supes cause of that whole 'vulnerable to magic thing') but on the whole I like to keep my builds toward the lower end of the spectrum.

The only thing about Warpath I might increase is his ranks in Super-Strength but a DC 24 unarmed attack is just fine by me for somebody who's pretty much at best, a B-list character.

•Quatre Raberba Winner was the youngest child of the prestigious family, the only boy with 29 sisters, and the only child to be born naturally and not concieved in a test tube. However, he was unaware of this fact, and always considered himself an artifically created male heir to his father's fortune. At an early age, he fell in with a group of freedom fighters known as the Maganac Corps, who were a group of test tube siblings who considered themselves a true family. Eventually, he became their leader and was selected by Instrucor H to serve in Operation Meteor. Quatre was against the original plan for Meteor from the start, and though he has no taste for violence, he decided to fight for peace with his fellow Gundam Warriors, going by the code-name Sandrock.

•Okay, so here's Quatre as a regular super hero type. He's a brick, through and through in combat, focusing on melee combat, dishing out a hit and, even though his defense isn't bad (a requiste in the beam-happy Gundam world), he's the toughnest of the GW boys, and is only a 9.5 on offense. He lacks Corrosion like Duo, Heero and Wufei have, but he's also team leader, so he has a bevy of feats to help him in that respect. He would perfectly complement Trowa in combat, since he's good up close and the latter is nearly supreme at range. I didn't give him the Minions feat, cause he's already expensive, but Rasid and the other Magnacs should be around him, but really never made too much of a difference in combat that I remember. Rasid is his own man, and ther others are probably minions really, but since he follows Quatre, so do they.

May I ask why you didn't use the Normal Identity drawback for Thor's Donald Blake form?

An oversight on my part.

Although Thor's current incarantion does not, as I understand it, transform into Blake if he has the hammer out of hand for more than a minute, he still qualifies for the Normal Identity Drawback. I just haven't seen it used in a while, but that doesn't mean it may not come up.

Nice catch, Jack.

I know he likes to follow his emotions and all, but any desire to wear what is essentially a tank-top by itself should be repressed.

•First of all, I want to extend my gratitude to Grahf and MDSnowman for their own Gundam Wing builds, as I've used them as a rough guideline for my own. Can't believe I forgot to bring that up earlier. Anyway, Heero Yuy (that's not his real name, but his real one is unknown, so we'll just stick with that) was a protege of sorts to Odin Lowe, the greatest assassin of his age. From the age of seven, he taught Heero to handle a gun, and to live by his emotions. Eventually, Lowe was killed while on a job, and Heero wandered for a while before being taken in by Dr. J, who helped turn the boy into a living weapon. Armed with fantastic weapons and a formidable sense of drive, Heero is perhaps the most unrelenting and powerful of the Gundam Warriors.

•Heero is definitely the strongest of pretty much anybody in Gundam Wing with a few possible contenders (Wufei, Zechs), but a lot of that is due to the Beam Buster Rifle, so take that away and he'll still probably win, but it'll be a close, epic fight instead of a few rounds of beam spam. Most people who can make the Reflex save aren't the kind who can handle the Toughness or Fort rolls, so its gonna dish some damage. Still, he's primarily a melee fighter, and Corrossion 9 can still cause some hurt. Toss in an expert level of combat skill and a smattering of powerful feats, and Heero is not one to mess with. Still, he's not good at too much besides fighting, although he's a decent infiltrator. Everything considered, his best bet is either to close and hack away with is beam saber, or just stand back and vape everything in his path, although he won't be doing that too often, simply because of all the collateral damage.

•A leader of a tribe of caveman, Vandar Adg was bathed in radiation from a strange metorite 52,000 years ago, gaining an impressive intellect and immortality in the process. Since then he's had an enormus part in shaping human history, claiming to be various historical figures and close advisers to others. In the 1940s, he became an enemy of the Justice Society of America, and though his wide-spreading plots have brought him into conflict with numerous other heroes, including his archenemy, Ressurrection Man, he remains an important adversary of the JSA.

•You gotta love long-lived genius baddies. Unlike Ra's Al Ghul, Vandal here actually goes out and does a lot of the action stuff himself (a remnant from his caveman days, no doubt) and is strong enough to knock out Wildcat in one punch and hang with low-level superhumans due to impressive phyisical strength and combat skill. I've left the whole 'loses his power' thing up to the whims of the GM, because you could raise or lower his physical scores as you wish, depending on what (or who) he's had for dinner recently. As a guy who can mix Ritualist and Inventor for magic and technology, he always struck me as the kind of DC villain who would make a great adversary for Hellboy.

Well, while I have various fights and builds in the hopper at the moment (Supes versus the big G, and then perhaps the world's most dysfunctional daughet and father combo go toe-to-toe against a hairy Canadian and his female clone, then maybe a Hulk build, and definitely a Rulk one, he's just easier) I'd like to take this moment to let all on the Tank now that I'd be more than happy to drop everything and work on any requests you might have at the moment.
