Well to my defense I can only bring two things. Number one, one the MaMa it was stated that a Benefit feat can be used to change a bonus within the same category - for example Speed of thought - so by the RAW the feat should be kosher. Number two, in Hulk case the concept is that his ability to scare people isn't based upon his ability to manipulate people - like Batman - but rather on the sheer brutality and rage he embodies, even other super-strong types usually hesitate before facing him.

On the other hand I recognize that the bonus is alittle too extreme, I felt allowed to do that because he is an NPC, I honestly doubt that I'll ever allow it on a PC. And by the way I just made some math, Hulk's charisma penality is counteracted by the Growth bonus, so the difference in cost between giving him the full bonus by skill ranks and the Feat is just 3 PP (4.5 PP when his rage reach the apex).

  • Addiction (overcharged sex drive): as a consequence of her trasformation Jen's sex drive was supercharged and her inhibition lowered, not exactly the best combination
  • Fame (green-skinned sex-symbol): Jen is quite possibly the single most recognizable heroine in the MU
  • Responsibility (Bruce Banner): Jen is one of the few people who really cares about Bruce


:arrow: after doing Hulk, Jen is a natural following. But she was alot harder to figure out than I expected, and as exected she came out more expensive than her cousin (she a physical, social and intellectual powerhouse after all). Her PL was something that took me a bit to figure out, she's powerful - but how much - in the end I placed her on par with Ben Grimm and, like him, she is a bit more combat efficient than your typical brick character

:arrow: for her lawyer skill I placed her on par with Daredevil. The difference is in style Matt is more about Sense Motive and questioning, while Jen is more about the minutiae of the legal system

:arrow: Jen powers fluctuated wildly through the years and the authors, some considered her powers to be rage fuelled, others to be pretty much constant, then there was the very questionable fear fuelled hint and the crazy proportional sttrength story. I decided to keep her in a very basic form, she has some hint of anger fuelled strength in the form of her Rage feat and nothing else

:arrow: there are also her two power stunts from her Sensational days, I kept the 4th Wall Awareness just for the fun of it. As for the Power Switch trick I think that it works as a special case of Mind Switch, but I don't see it as an iconic part of the character. As a consequence I consider that a Power Stunt of the Alternate Form

Power Switch (Mind Switch 10; Drawbacks: Noticeable [blatant physical changes], One-Way Transformation [can't run back if the other subject doesn't allow it])


:arrow: Jen transformation to one idenityt or the other can be triggered by certain radiation frequencies, since sh'es immune to environmantal radiations as She-Hulk, this have to be applied directly

As I mentioned on Arkrite topic his recent builds for the Freedom League Lighthouse personel inspired me to do the same with my Euroforce's New Avalon base.

Given the name of the base and some other elements I decided to gave each character the name of one of the knights of round table as a codename.

Full name: Anne Kao
Nationality: British citizen with juvenile criminal records for petty theft and unarmed assault
Birth: March 17th 1980, Hong-Kong
Profession: New Avalon security chief (former S.A.S.trooper)

Personality

After leaving the army Anne has started to feel very strange, she is slowly, and somewhat painfully, discovering her own femininity. This coped with her reputation as an hard-assed commando soldier is causing her a lot of trouble. Plus she has started to consider the rest of the Knights as a sort of adopted family, which is another thing she has trouble to deal with. She is more or less a Vasquez-like character (from Aliens) that is moving behind the stereotypical female marine personality.

Background

Born around the beginning of the '80s Anne was the daughter of a European businessman and a street hooker. Grown up in one of the worst slumm of Hong-Kong, she quickly discovered that she had to bury her femininity very deep in order to survive the brutal enviroment. After a childhood of petty thefts and brawls, at 15, Anne actually bite more than she could chew, along with her gang she tried to rob a ship in the yard. Unfortunalty, or maybe fortunatly, the ship was actually a cover for a MI-6 operation involving Hood, while rest of the gang surrendered quite fast Anne tried to escape and put up quite a fight. Noticing some potential, Hood decided to make a deal with her: in exchange for her freedom (and some ecomonic help) she would became one of his contacts in the city. The unexpected part was that she actually enjoyed work on the right part of the law, so when she turned 18 having little prospective she joined the army puttigng her natural aggressiveness to good use and becoming the first female recruit of the S.A.S.

Despite being a natural soldier, not in a small part thanks to her harsh childhood, Anne had big problems dealing with the machismo that suffused her new enviroment. Being the only woman in a all-male club made everything even worst, so when in 2002 Hood proposed her to became the security chief for New Avalon she jumped on the opportunity on a moment notice.

I'm interested in this New Avalon you're presenting. Are the Knights going to be filled up with ex-military types like Gawaine/Anne here (nice touch with the Authurian lore there)?

The picture seems perfect for her too. I'm quite looking forward to seeing what's next!

Of course now I wonder which is scarier, having Cody and Gawaine fight... or having them do a superhero (Support Staff) teamup? ;~)

Well, yes and no. I've planned all of them a couple of other Knights will be ex-military, but I doubt that anyone will be on par with Anne.

Gawaine is quite a bulldozer (even if unarmed), but a considerable part of her fighting stats come from her weapons. Cody on the other hand is close combat machine and the Device body armor is a lot superior from the Euroforce equipment.

Cody's a little too powerful, in my opinion. I've handwaved that off with an indication that he might be destined for super heroics himself.

He lacks the training and the feats to be a leader type, though.

As for the devices, I felt it was appropreate seeing as Daedelus was up there. Plus it is the shiny tech castle in the sky ;~)

That being said, the armor and guns are even, in my opinion, though Cody gets a bit of an edge in the case of exposure to vacuum or PL 0-1 attacks.

Still, these two are hell on wheels in a street level setting. Destined for action movies with large explosions, and lots of guns I'd say.

Profession: New Avalon chief engineer (former engineer at the Dynlar GmbH and Völundr Enterprises)

Personality

Being the oldest member of the Knights - aside from Perceval - Micheal is usually regarded as a sort of surrogate uncle and leader figure by the rest of the team. Matter of fact he isn't confortable in this role, being more accustomed to deal with machines than with people, at least on the work. Outside "Wrench" is a very sociable kind of guy, his greatest asset is the ability to be open to any kind of company, he never discriminate people based on race, religion or politics, only based on individuals.

Background

Like many other people Micheal greatest asset is also his gretest weakness, his honesty has got him his current position as chief engineer of the New Avalon base, but also cost him his left eye and arm. Born in Ireland during the 60s, he was one of the many youngs that after getting a degree - he graduated with full honor at the engineering faculty of the Dublin's Trinity College - left the island looking for a more rewarding and profitable work. In his case he got a position in the Dynlar GmbH, a major German firm in high technology. It took him several of years to starting figuring out that the Dynlar wasn't as nice as it looked, beyond the facade there was a complex network of financial interests and collusion. The final drop came in 1993, when he presented a report about the risks of using a new type of power cell in the Dynlar first line of compact cell phones. The report was simply ignored, as consequence Micheal resigned and prepared for a legal cause against the Dynlar. Karl Von Haldmann, the CEO of the Dynlar, decided to deal with him immediatly and hired a killer to silence Micheal permanently, only the intervention of Valkyrja saved him. Helping her to find out something more about Dynlar plans was obviously the next step, and he did a good job, but lost his left arm and suffered a injury to his eye during a fight in a steel mill.
After the end of this adventure Micheal was contacted by the Völundr Enterprises for a position as chief engineer, he refused for a long time, until Katrin Sigurðdottir went personally to ask him to work for her society. In 1997, after the destruction of the original Valkyrja armor and the beginning of Katrin's heroic hiatus, she propossed to Micheal to test a couple of bionic protesys to replace his eye and limb. The resulting increased efficiency, also thanks to Micheal's personal upgrades made him the ideal candidate for the position of chief engineer on New Avalon from 2002 onwards.

Personality

Stefan has a reputation to be an hotshot and an unstable loose cannon, those who met him are usually quite stunned to find not a character like Maverick from Top Gun. Matter of fact during his formative years Stefan was a very close match for the famous movie character, but his years as a mercenary and the dozen of wounds, both physical and mental, had corrected his way, maturing him in a very solid but very rough man.

Background

Stefan's life was shaped by a single major event: the Romanian Revoluton of 1989. Just a year before he had signed in in the Air Force and was under training to became a pilot. All of a sudden his country was aflame and the army was fighting alongside the people against the goverment. While he didn't have any particular respect for Nicolae Ceauşescu, but the whole situation deeply shaked his faith in humanity as whole. Nevertheless he completed the training, but was never able to fly , since his unit was disbanded during the reorganization of the armed forces. Disgusted, he took advantage of the chaotic situation to hijack a MiG-29 and flee to the Middle East were he enlisted with a mercenary unit. For about a decade he simply slipped for a war theatre to the next, just using his money to upgrading and repairing the MiG.
In 1997 he took off with his MiG for the last time, another mercenary pilot shot him down and Stefan ejected. For days he wandered in the desert, he was about to shot himself until an airship appeared and a group of soldiers took him aboard. The ship was property of Mortimer Lawson, a.k.a. Sky Lord (Freedom Most Wanted p.106), the mastermind was impressed by Stefan's skill and offered hima chance to fly again, under his colors against some European supers. His first and most important target was Morrighan, they fought various time with mixed result. In 2000 Morrighan was finally able to put him in jail but, given his skills, Morrighan decided to use him, rather than letting him root in prison. With the help of Hood and La Picara, she pulled some strings and had him trasfered to New Avalon as pilot in 2002.
While the Merlin is usually flew by Blitzkrieg or another member of the team, while Stefan pilot the Dragonfang, but in emergency situation Stefan usually takes over. The rest of the Knights had a very hard time to fit in with a former convict and some very rough confrontation happened. So far he was threatened to be shot by Anne, having his internal organs removed by Francisco and welded to the fuselage of the Dragonfang by Micheal.
On a side note, he really hates aviation centric movies (like Top Gun), and his nickname by consequence.

Personality

Being the most normal member of the Knights, Matteo is usually regarded as the moral compass of the team. Matter of fact he has a very strong moral, even if a little too strict on certain things. The only thing capable of making him goes ballistic is when his wife is threatned.

Background

Matteo life can be described as uneventful at best, third son of a family from Palagianello (a small town near Taranto), he studied in the Scuola Alberghiera (a professional school for cooks and ) of Bari and started working as a ship cook shortly thereafter. After many cruises in the Mediterranean sea he was transfered on a ship cruising the Carribeans. It was during a stop in Haiti that is life took an unexpected turn, drunken and bored he went into a giant brawl and was subsequently arrested and detained for the night. While he was in jail he met a young woman called Géraldine Charrette. It was love at first sight, at least for Matteo, he left his work and looked for another one in Haiti and for year he went to met her in prison almost every day. As soon as she was out they married and in 2001, when she ws recruited as computer technician for New Avalon he went along becoming the base cook. At the moment their marriage is experiencing a bit of tension, since they both want children, but recognise that New Avalon is not a good place for a child to grow up.

Personality

According to most people Géraldine is a little freaky, to be polite, or downright scary. But this is only a facade, deep down she is a very loyal and carring person, cursed with an extreme fear of the world, all her creepy demeanour is a strategy to keep those who scares her at arms length. The only person that seem to knew the real Géraldine is her husband.

Background

Little can be told of Géraldine early years, she has an amazing talent for covering her tracks, but some details came through. Apparently she was born in Port-de-Paix, or moved here when seh was very young, and attended to some technical schools with very high degrees. Somewhere in her formative years her family suffered a major financial crisis and she was forced to relay on her skills to survive. Over the years she profitted from her hacking skills working for some questionable causes, but was smart enough to know where and how to stop. In the end she was caught for a small theft matter with some fraud attached and was jailed. In jail she met a strange guy called Matteo Basile, he was drunk and she was scarred, not the best combination but for some unfathomable reason she trusted him by instinct. She was sentenced for a whole year of prison and he went to see her every day, a the end of the year they married.
Over the years she had some run in with various supers, particulary Siren (from Freedom City) and Valkyrja after she hacked the mainframe of the Völundr Enterprises and discovered the existance of O.D.I.N. and traded her freedom for her silence. This made her the ideal candidate for the position of computer technician on New Avalon. The Pendragon system was linked with O.D.I.N. mainframe, a thing that made Valkyrja very anxious (she has no desire to made O.D.I.N. existance public), so she having a technician already aware of that and sweared to secrecy was primary need.

Personality

According to Francisco to be a good medic you have to be good human being first. Which doesn't mean that you have to be kinder at all cost, but rather that you have to be honest at all costs. If you lie to someone, even for a good reason, you are basicaly denying his right to choose freely, unsurprisingly he is a strong advocate of the informed consent. For a reference he is like a older and more soft spoken version of doctor Cox from "Scrubs".

Background

Born in the Francoist Spain, he had the luck of having a couple of uncle who were among the top brass of the Falange. This, along with the increased prosperity of the Spanish Miracle, enabled him to pursuit his interest in medicine quite freely. Matter of fact Francisco was quite a spoiled young man, until he met face first with the reality of war and sufference. Shortly after the end of university he enlisted as medical officier with the Spanish army and was sent to Ceuta. After a year witnessing the horror he resigned and became a member of the International Red Cross. His first contact with Euroforce was less than pleasant, La Picara tracked him down and gave him a major third degree about his uncles and his link to the Falange. After that his contacts with superhumans were sparse, but strangely frequent, he met a lot of African heroes in Somalia and some of the old members of Euronet. In 1996 he was assisting a group of women and children on the Rwanda border when he was shot by a sniper in a leg. Unable to do field works again, he was relegated on desk duty, which was very frustrating for him. In 2002 Euroforce was looking for a medic and La Picara contacted him shortly thereafter, his experience with superhumans was obviously a pivoltal factor. One of the few plusses was the chance to get his hands on Valkyrja's prosthetic technology that gave him back his leg mobility.
