Downfalls:

False Hero: Though the Phantom Stranger is a lineage for Holycross' family. The name itself is of an Acient Hero whom mysteriously vanished after rescueing Queen Victoria. If they real one returns, questions may arise.

Phantom Ability: Though The Phantom Strangers have no real powers, the family line itself is has access to the afterlife. Able to talk to ancestors of the family line. No one knows why but it all started around the 2nd generation of the hero. Thus some people might catch Phantom talking to himself.

Dark Secret: The Holycross family is bond to keep the secret that they are 1 hero whom has lived for at least 100 years. If anyone knows this secret, it could destory the name and the lineage.

Queen and Country versus The Church: Being that The Phantom Strangers work both for the queen and for the church, he most make some hard choices which might reflect badly on some others.

Responsibilty: Though Daniel is resposible for being The Phantom Stranger, he also must run the million dollar factory that his family has put together. Because of this, Daniel finds himself getting annoyed easily due to lack of sleep. He may also have to choose between working overtime at the factory when needed or leaving to roam the streets as Phantom Stranger.

The Yellow King:
With the first generation Phantom Stranger stumbled upon the ring, they took it to use the powers it contained for good. However, the King knows it's missing and is out to find it. This is unknown to Daniel.

Background Information:

The year was 1835 when the Holycross family's destiny changed forever. It was the celebration of Princess Victoria’s 16th birthday. Everyone was invited to celebrate this special event and the Holycross family was no exception. The whole city watched as the young princess walked out onto her balcony and begun to wave at the people below. At this time, a evil mad man known only as The Cultist appeared behind her in a puff a smoke and with dagger in hand claimed that her life must be sacrificed to stop the anger of The Great Old Ones.

Many men responded by climbing the castle to aid the princess, including one Benjamin Holycross. The Cultist however, held great magic powers. With a simple mutter of a few words and a flick of his wrist, let out a great blast of energy which slain most of the men and injured many others.

Just as it seemed all hope was lost, a hero appeared from shadows of the bedroom from behind. The hero's face was covered by a simple mask as most of his body was covered by a great purple cape. From there he and The Cultist fought for what it seemed like ages. It appeared that the hero wielded magic just like The Cultists. It seemed that the battle was dead even. That is until a unknown man (who was minorly injured in the blast) got to the balcony and grappled The Cultist from behind. That man was a no name inventor known as Benjamin Holycross.

Defenseless, the hero was able to subdue The Cultist. Refusing to be taking to jail, The Cultist took his own life from his own blade. The hero merely shook hands with Ben before quickly vanishing as fast as he arrived, leaving Holycross and the princess alone.

The papers deemed the hero ‘The Phantom Stranger’. Many claimed to be him but held no proof to back up the claims. As for Ben, he was rewarded by being the first person the princess would knight.

With many doors now opened thanks to his knighthood, Ben gained grants and connections that allowed him to get started on an improvement on a invention called the rechargeable battery. As Ben dove into his research, his brother Damien took another route.

Copying the suit the Phantom Stranger dawned, Damien started to walk the streets as this unknown hero. Unlike the others whom claimed to be The Phantom Stranger, Damien had knowledge of previous inventions from his brother to make seem like he had magic abtilites.

At first it was to simply draw attention to himself, for being the brother of a national hero left quite a shadow to get out from under. With Damien merely just walking the streets of London wearing the uniform and using his brother's Lantern Gloves that most thought was some kind of magical energy, crime dropped and papers instantly posted all they could about this stranger and how his return to clean the streets was for the future queen.

Damien wasn’t put to the test until one night were a criminal decided to confront this Stranger. Unfortunately, Damien was beaten senseless and the crooks made off with what they stole. It didn't take long for the rumor of The Phantom Stranger being a fake to spread. Quickly many Englishman started to lose faith of the hero and thought him to be one of many copycats of the original. Crime started to climb again.

Determined not be responsible for the new crime wave, Damien let his secret out to his family. In shock and in fear of what Damion had done, his family started to talk about what to do. The family feared that rumors of the false hero being Damien could get out, which would destroy the new found fame and fortune. Once again, Benjamin stepped up.

Together, Benjamin and Damien teamed up as the first Phantom Stranger. Ben decided that they must first train before they start to roam the streets again. Using the family fortune, they began training. The next time The Phantom Stranger roamed the streets, he started to actually confront and attack the criminals of the night Again, the papers spread the news and once again crime started to drop.

After months of being The Phantom Stranger, Ben and Damien found that this hero simply couldn’t go away. With that they decided to write a code of conduct for the hero and to keep the legacy of the hero within the family so that all Holycross’ will know how to act as the Phantom Stranger in the future. Around this same time, Ben's rechargable battery invention became an instant success.

With this new code, the family continued the legacy. Unlike most legacies, this one was built to be open to the whole family of the orginal Holycross. The person whom was elected to become the new Phantom Stranger didn’t have to be a direct descendant like it was with kings and princes. This meant that any male Holycross could become the next Phantom Stranger. When injury or death happened, the family would quickly elect another to take the Phantom's mantle.

Due to the original’s obvious magic abilities, many cultists and mages came after Phantom Stranger. This lead to some family members to become insane from the unnatural things they witnessed. When more and more of the male sons started being hauled off to mental institutions or locked in their rooms for years, rumors started to flow in the royal family that the Holycross’ started to become unstable. Much of the fortune was lost.

Thus a new law was enforced into the family by the 4th Phantom. It said that only 1 member of the family at a time shall be the Phantom until death or until he steps down. They also made the bearer (as they called it) attend and be active in church. They found that a link with the Holy Spirit kept the creatures of the Void from affecting their minds as much, so required all Holycross’ to attended church.

Throughout the years, Phantoms have collected many books, items, and objects of the unknown. Most were destroyed unless found a purpose in the fight against evil. Contacts were also made in the church so that the Phantom could locate the weird or unnatural easier.

The only change throughout the years is the look of the Phantom Stranger. The family felt that a small reward of being elected into the role should allow the said person to make his own suit. It had to follow the normal suit in some way so that most would recognize it.

The 5th Phantom Stranger was recently elected by the family. His name was Daniel and he also so happened to be the new chairman for Alkaline Batteries Inc factory. There wasn’t a rule saying that a Holycross couldn’t run the business AND be the Phantom Stranger(though this was the first time one was both since Benjamin), so it was decided that Daniel would be both, until he decided to step down from one or the other. Thanks to the family fortune, Daniel is excelled in many things and though hasn’t had much experience with being the Phantom Stranger, had enough training to gain faith from the family.

Backstory:


-Henry Crossman was born into the army by his mother whom was a nurse at the time. It wasn't long before Crossman started to get into liking the army. All his life he read, watched, and breathed army and once he turned 17, he joined. He happen to join a few years before the start of World War I. Quickly climbing in the ranks of the Army due to his ability to work as a team, Crossman soon volunteered for The United Solider Experiment. It was an experimental program that used the science of the 20s and the blood of ancient heroes, which were found in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome in a recent archeological dig. United Solider (codename Solider I), was a success. His abilities and power was able to counter what the Germans were talking about making. He achieved powers beyond the scope of modern science. They believed that his powers were advancing and mutating, giving him the ability to aid soldiers around him by a mere touch. Soldiers whom fought along side United reported feeling stronger, faster and over all better. Soon United had his own group whom seldom lost any men. There were many other experiments after United Solider and some did succeed, but none every to the ability of what United became. His codename during the Great War was United Solider.

-After the second World War. United Solider soon became obsessed with Unity. His Experience as a solider made him a powerful hero for the ages as he continued his march over the communist nations. United Solider continued his deeds for another decade, soon after that, soldiers started to mention how he was trying to unite the countries with United States without the permission of the government. Seeing his mental state, the army honorably discharged him. Depressed, United Solider made his way into the real world. After 2 years trying to find what to do with his life, a small light of hope came when he heard of a group of heroes joined together. Hoping for Unity in a different way, he then joined Team: Mask, one of the first ever Hero Teams of the time and changed his name to Mr. United, keeping his identity a secret.

-With successfully teaming up the Heroes into a perfect team, Mr. United started forming teams everywhere he could as he secretly tried to tie everyone together and form a perfect Unity of heroes. He formed many of the famous Leagues of the past, drifting from one team to another, aiding in the building of the team and when the team was perfect, he moved on. He rarely stayed with a team, Being he simply would make them and then head to another new group. However, exceptions were made, and he became a permanent member of 2 to 3 groups that survived until the 80s. With his Charisma and Powers, he quickly became a household name. People loved his kind nature and how he wishes to unite all the heroes, so that they may flourish and expand to unite the world.

-When the 80s came, Mr. United abandoned the hero life, for the Vigilantes who called themselves heroes, killed without thought and never worked with a team. Mr. United pulled away after trying to unite them. At this time he decided to find other species in the vastness of space and learn from them. Maybe their wisdom will give Mr. United what he needs to bind Earth together.

-Ever since, Mr. United has traveled from world to world. Fighting the evil their before Uniting the planet under one government. Using this knowledge he would then move to another world and then another. He would banish evil tyrants, free slaves, and crumble galactic holds in every world. Many know his name and ask for his aid after helping another world. However, he has yet to find the key ingredient that he knows would ban Earth under one flag.

Of course this ring has nothing to do with the Jedi, but the maker (and Kevin's friend) of the ring was a huge fan of the sci-fi world and thus forged a ring that resembled their ability to move objects. However, the maker of the ring was killed by a renegade Black Vampire. Kevin now uses it to honor his friend.

The gun that kept the peace in Deadwood, now keeps the peace in the darkness. After Bullock's death, a local Venatori Umbrorum bought the gun from Bullock's family. He was impressed that the weapon was hardly ever fired. After looking at the weapon up close, he found it was previously enchanted. After some study, the Venatori Umbrorum found that the pistol was already sought after by many factions and clans of the supernatural, fear of it getting into the hands of evil, the Venatori hid it in his store house. Many years later, Kevin stumbled upon the weapon by accident after raiding a warlock house in South Dakota.

Downfalls:

Flashbacks: Kevin is plagued with flashbacks of his friend Jenna being slain by the rogue Black Vampire. These sometimes wake him at night and causes him to be fatigued the next day.

Hunt and Hunted: Kevin has been trailing the Black Vampire (known only as Shadow)for some time that attacked his friend. He has in return killed some of the Vampire's underlings. This has resulted in many confrontations with the damn thing.

Kept Secret: Kevin is unaware that his friend Jenna whom was attacked is actually now a Black Vampire herself serving as one of the Shadow's minions. Shadow has kept her in the dark about Kevin being after him as well. Neither Jenna nor Kevin know the other is alive.

Spotty Sanity:
Being forced into the dark world of the Supernatural didn't go smoothly for Kevin. Seeing the unseen has caused some issues in Kevin. Leaving him to have fits of rage, depression, and narcolepsy.

Background Information:

Don's eyes opened as the pain of his head was too much for unconsciousness anymore. Memory of what had happened was spotty at best. Last thing that he remembered was draining some poor homeless woman of her blood. Or as Don liked to call it, Brunch. Now he looks around only to see 4 walls, a manhole above and a door to his front.

His senses coming back quickly. Getting back his sense of balance, Don tries for the door only to find himself strapped securely to the chair he was in. It was then that his ears picked up a sound. The sound was unmistakable. The thumping of a calm heart of a human. The person was behind him. Don tried to turn to see the person but his bonds hardly allowed any movement.

The footsteps came closer behind him. Instantly Don's fear jumped through the roof, "Who are you! What do you want?" He says as he tries to turn to the noise once again but can't. The person behind him merely sighs as the sound of footsteps near. Don frantically tries to free himself but stops as the sound of a metal ladder is heard. Whoever was behind was climbing a ladder towards the manhole. Don looks up and sees the build of what could only be a man.

Slowly the manhole opens and Don can see the early dawn light. Don's fear worsens as he struggles at his bonds, "What do you want!?" He yells as the man climbs back down. Hot breathe brushes the back of Don's neck as lips near his ear. "A name....." says the man in a hush whisper. "Just a name."

Don quickly answers, "Name is Don Green. Don Green! Now please untie me!" he says as he looks towards the opening fearing the sun would rise too early. The man laughs as he throws Don's wallet in his lap, "Idiot. I know your name. I want another name. I name I know will be hard for you to spill. But as you can see from above. Time is against you. So,....Don who is your master. You might know him by his nickname, Shadow."

Don's eyes widen but quickly he hides his surprise, "I...I have no idea what your talking about. " He says as he seems to lower his head, knowing that the man could sense his subterfuge. The man quickly grumbles as he comes in front of Don, hand on his pistol.

Don looks to him and instantly knows who it was. Kr is what people called him. It seems the rumors were true about someone being after Shadow after all. Don had little time for a flashback though as Kr smacks Don across the face was the side of his knife, leaving a deep gash on his cheek.

Don let out a frightened scream as Kr yells, "Your lying. I don't like lair's Don." He says forcefully as he jabs the blade into Don's left hand. Don screams in pain as his hand struggles at the bonds. Kr's other hand comes up in a flash, grabbing a fang of the vampire with a pair of pliers and yanks.

Don again screams and this time, Kr lets him. As the pain slowly dulls, Kr asks for a name again. Don's mouth was full of blood but fear of the sun drives him to speak, "I don't know....I only know where he's going. Kr smirks, "That will work." He says as he removes the knife from Don's hand whom sighed in both defeated pain and relief.

Kr or Kevin Roman was once a white collared worker like so many other people in Chicago. His hobbies were comics and collectibles. He had little of a social life. His days were mostly spent reading or watching movies. His job was barely enjoyable, but it paid for Kevin's hobbies. It was at a comic store were he met a fairly attractive lady known as Jenna.

Jenna seemed to have the same passion as Kevin did when it came to thoughts about comics and the such. Each weekend, he would spend it over at Jenna's as they watched the latest movies. However, some weekends were spent alone as Jenna had a job that took he places. Kevin didn't really ask. She didn't seem to want to talk about it and he had no reason to push.

6 months after meeting her, Kevin thought it was time. One night, Kevin went to go surprise Jenna at her house and officially ask her out. Kevin went to knock and found the door was open. As he entered, he heard a man's voice and as he turned the corner, he saw him. The vampire known only as Shadow draining the life out of his friend. Quickly, Kevin screamed for him to stop, but the monster ignored the petty man and merely drained her dry before going towards Kevin, spitting his friends blood all over him as he sniffed, "You are not anything special." he said as he corners Kevin, "I only drink of the gifted." He says before transforming into mist and floating away. Kevin went into shock as he fell to the floor after the creature left.

Cops arrived later and when Kevin told them his story, they quickly locked him up for the murder of his friend. What little friends Kevin had left him that day. It was when the Venatori Umbrorum that he agreed to abandon his previous life and join them. The Venatori Umbrorum then got him from prison and was given the ring that was found on Jenna's body. It was the Venatori whom told Kevin of Jenna's real story. She was a Mage of the White Council whom was attacked by a psychopathic Black Court Vampire known as Shadow. Shadow had been on the run ever since he was discovered feeding on only gifted humans.

Kevin's efforts to track down Shadow has yielded many profits. One being his pistol which he hopes to bury in Shadow's chest. Kevin's whole life is now devoted to vengeance.

Background Information:

Johnny Swift was born was born to Rudolph and Mary Swift in Blue Valley, Iowa. As a boy, John was overweight and had a severe case of asthma. He would often daydream, about being able to play in sports, run in track and field. Instead he had to breathe through a machine every night due to his asthma which acted up at night, making it hard for him to sleep and stay indoors for his allergies often caused him to go into an asthma attack. So he would stay inside and read books to try and feel what the outside world was like. He would always talk about how he was trying to run and get himself away from his medicine so that he could join sports. However, once he started running his asthma would act up or his body would cramp due to being overweight. Of course this made him no friends at school. Being so weak he often debated about asking if he could just be home schooled, but school allowed him access to the outside world if only for a few hours. Being at school also gave him a chance to try and pick up running. But one instance made him break his inhaler and he was quickly rushed to the ER. Seeing this his parents thought he was setting himself up for failure and did their best to dampen what they believed to be unrealistic expectations, in rather harsh ways. His father encouraged him to work at the same office he did, by sorting out papers and keep him indoors so another attack wouldn’t happen, but John grew frustrated and hurt (and eventually apathetic) by their lack of faith in his abilities.

One summer, when he was Fifteen years old, John went to Central City to stay with his aunt Iris. He was 1st in his schools’ science fair and was sent to Central for the National Finals. Because of his asthma, his parents were against the idea. But his aunt reassured them that he would be okay. John was naturally gifted in the arts of Science, especially Chemistry and his science fair project was an unstable chemical compound that rose ones metabolism and give them a rush of energy and speed. The risks were there. Such as shock from the body and increased heart rate, but the fact was, that it was proven to work (using mice) and that no one else could possibly have something even remotely close. Secretly, John thought about drinking the Chemical in hopes to shed some pounds. He was temped but didn’t want a damaged heart on top of everything else. He couldn’t do anything already.

Iris was going out for her daily BINGO but promised to return in time to take him. However, as she won two games in a row, time was of little concern and failed to return in time to take John to the fair. John couldn’t lose now, for the prize was trip to see the Greek ruins, something he always wished to see. So he began to make his own way there with 2 inhalers in hand. Carrying his chemicals in his arms, John was cutting through the park to buy some time. About half way through, he suddenly stumbled over a branch. Quickly he tried to regain his footing as he stumbled into the dense forest of the park until he finally slammed his shoulder into a small child, knocking him down and away just as the child said “SHAZAM!” Confused, John was about to apologies when a bolt of lightning struck down and into John. The lightning itself surged through the boy’s body, the heat combusting the chemical he carried, splashing his face and creating a gas like cloud around him. John muscles refused to listen as the electricity surged through him. The boy screamed in pain as the magical lighting surrounded his body and just ask quickly as it began it finished, leaving John in a smoldering pit, smoke rising from him as he countied to breathe in the gas as he lay unconscious. The child (known as Captain Marvel) quickly transformed and grabbed the boy, sending him to the nearest hospital.

The next day, John awoke in the hospital. When he asked what happened, the doctor said that he was struck by lighting (even though it was mostly sunny) and had some light burns from the chemicals. The doctor stated that he was lucky to be alive. He was taken back home a few days later. His parents blamed Iris of this and left without a word to her. Once home John spent many of his first days sleeping. He had nightmares of the pain that the lightning caused and woke many times in a pool of sweat. Over the next 2 weeks, Joh no longer needed his inhaler or medicine for his asthma. Baffled, his parents still didn’t let him out, thinking that this was only temporary. Over the course of 2 months, he lost 200 lbs! He was visited by doctors whom merely shrugged and said that he checked out healthy. They also stated that his asthma had seemed to disappear as well.

Many just blamed puberty for his sudden change. With the weight off and asthma gone, John was officially let out of the house, for hours at a time at first. He now weighed 150lbs. 4 months after that, he joined track. From the day he was let out of the house, John ran and quickly grew to love it. He never stopped and never tired. He didn’t know why nor did he care. Many people at school started to notice him. When he won the track finals later that year, he was officially one of the popular kids in school. On his sixth month, John tested his limits and at night when the streets where light on traffic, he ran. Something inside him clicked, it was as if someone flipped a switch. Before he knew it, he was on the highway keeping up with the cars. After break 100 miles an hour, John noticed strands of lighting leak from his body. Of course this scared him at first and stopped running all together for a few weeks. But the call for speed and curious how heard he could push himself was still there. So once again he tried, this time break 200 mph! Lighting leaked from the hairs on his body but did not harm him or his clothes, though his clothes quickly burned up from the friction. This was only the beginning.

The next summer, Captain Marvel came to John, telling him of the day when he was hit by the lightning . This surprised him, but Joln in turn told Captain Marvel of his secret. Marvel already knew and it was the reason he came to him. He wished to convey with him about his powers. Captain Marvel talked about how he should use his powers for the good of mankind. It didn’t take much convincing, for John agreed with Marvel.

Because John had been struck by lightning he was ironically deathly afraid of storms since then, fearing that another bolt will hit him, causing him the pain he faced when he was first struck and taking away his powers and putting him back to what he once was. John’s speed was immeasurable at this point in time, for every time he pushed himself, he would always go faster than before. As much as he tried, he would always go faster than before. John was in no way disappointed by this.

John hasn’t done much in the act of superhero work, but has taken down small crimes in Metropolis, a City that he visits regularly now. He was still new to the whole crime fighting game however, the papers have recently gotten a picture from him. It was blurring and out of focus. The title of the paper read “Faster than light?”, and the name Lightspeed was born. Not knowing his own strength, John still has problems when it comes to stopping criminals. In his latest heroism, he nearly paralyzed the man by pulling him off a motorcycle at super speed. Other powers have seemed to arise from his super speed. It seemed the lightning that flew from his body, seemed to gather the faster he went. More and more abilities have been cropping up and John does what he has always done in the past year. He just goes with the flow.

Dean Nightstar was born during a rare time. Not a time when the Sith were ruling or a time under a right moon, no. Dean was born just as the ship he was on jump into hyper drive. Though this meant nothing to many, for Dean it was a sign. This was a sign that he was born to fly.

When Dean was born, his mother passed shortly after and his father abandoned his mother when she found out about Dean. With no mother or father, Dean was sold by the ship’s captain in return for fuel. His owner then shipped him off to some off world where he sold him for double what he paid. Dean however, young and didn’t understand what was happening during this time nor does he remember much of it.

By the time he was 7, Dean was then rented out by his master to ship owners to help repair their ships or speeders. It was apparent to his owner, that Dean had a knack for starships. This was in the means of repair, but especially in means of piloting. By age 9, when he wasn’t sold as a living repair droid, he was hired on as a taxi service. Though he was kept in the same system and his hyperdrive removed to prevent escape. His worth started to go up throughout the years. His master quickly gained credits from his skills and services. He had no intention of selling Dean or releasing him, but Dean had other plans.

To Dean, his master was a evil tyrant whom cared for nothing expect the credits that he drained out of Dean. Knowing that his knowledge would be more valuable in space, Dean killed his master that night and fled the world on a ship he patched up earlier in the day.. He never really got to know his master nor even remembered his name. To this day, Dean doesn’t normally talk about that night. His master’s killing though did not go unnoticed.

After escaping, Dean got lost in an asteroid field while his starship lost power (seemed the power core was bad. Something Dean didn’t check in his rush to repair it.) Thinking he’d be lost in space forever, Dean pointed the ship to a random direction and with the last of the ships energy sped off in to the darkness.

Luck was on his side that day. A freighter happened to spot Dean and pull him in. The freighter itself was a black Market ship owned by the Hutts that did illegal trades in the asteroid region. Luck was on his side that day when he met old Capt. The Capt quickly took a shine to the boy. Sensing his love for flying, the Capt started to show the young boy (11 at the time) everything he knew. Again Dean’s skills were put to good use, only this time he was working for someone, not a slave to them. Dean quickly became one of the leading Smugglers in the Asteroid region. With his skills in flying, Dean out matched any fighter that brought his squad trouble

It didn’t take long for Dean’s confidence to build. Soon his mouth became as deadly as any blaster. He would radio the enemy flyer, telling them what they did wrong to their craft before crashing them into a asteroid or gunning them down with his own ship. Because of his constant flying in the field, his skills continued to increase. Many could barely keep up with him by the time he was 18.

Being a smuggler wasn’t easy but Dean loved it. He made a lot of good friends and money doing what he did. Some missions tested his blaster rather than his piloting skills. Luckily the Capt taught Dean How to use his. Mixing that with the drawn brawls he caught into when he was on shore leave, left Dean to be one of the top Smugglers for the Hutts. To celebrate his latest mission Dean sunk all his credits into a pilot suit that balanced flight with ground battling.

However, all good things must come to an end. With the Capt’s sudden death, Dean was alone yet again. Instead of inheriting the ship, The Hutts (which Dean learned earlier he worked for) gave it to the First Mate whom was jealous of Dean. The First Mate made a quick decision to banish Dean from the ship. Angry, Dean rebelled against the new captain, shooting him dead in front of the Hutts before blasting his way to a escape Pod. Last time he saw the famous Asteroid Freighter (whose name was Rocky Waves) it was floating powerless in a sea of rocks for Dean had the power core stripped of its wires.

After his escape, Dean started privateer work in the galaxy. One particular day, Dean quickly found that he was wanted when a bounty hunter attacked him, destroying his ship in a attempt to capture him. He battled with the Bounty Hunter before kicking him into the engine core, killing him. As a souvenir, Dean took the Bounty Hunter’s blaster.

To escape the bounty that was on his head, Dean joined the Republic. He has found a place in the army and much like Smuggling; he has made some friends and is known for his recklessness in asteroid belts. It is because of this reckless behaviour and his silver tongue that Dean wasn’t promoted. Though he enjoyed the army, he would quickly leave it if anyone came with a real challenge.

Background:

Matthew Sage grew up on the upper North Side of Gotham. Unlike most residents there, Matthew hardly had to worry about crime and violence. Most of the North side is where the wealthier families hand their housing built. The only time Matthew saw Batman was on the news. Though he normally stayed up at nights just to watch what little video of him there were. Yet, as a little boy Matthew idolized the hero of his town and dressed up as him when he was little.

Along with a good neighborhood, Matt's parents were uncorrupted. They brought Matt up on good manners and being polite. Do to his uprising; Matthew steered away from gangs and drugs throughout his school life. It wasn't until senior year of high school that Matthew finally rebelled. After being caught in his room with a girl, his parents grounded him. Though Matthew claimed nothing happened. This angered Matt to the point of rebellion. He began to sneak out at night, go driving with his football buddies. Cause vandalism throughout the night. In turn this also affected his grades, something he normal excelled at. Soon, he flunked out of football and was caught sneaking out more and more. It was also at this time that Batman had vanished.

It finally came to the moment when he and his friends thought it would be fun to rob someone. Many had their doubts about it and left, but Matt and 2 others decided it would be exciting. So, they slid on Ski Masks and waited in an alley. Moments later a couple walked by. Zach (the leader of the other two) grabbed at the girl, while the other two pinned the guy. With gun in hand, Zach wrestled the girl to the ground. Struggling, the girl scratched at Zach's face. Out of anger, Zach fired the gun, killing her. The others looked in horror as he then turned and shot the guy. Looking at the two, he told them, that they were to never tell.

2 weeks later, Zach was arrested for murder, his DNA found on the girl. The other friend committed suicide while Matt acted as a witness, dropping all charges in doing so. Though this did not help his growing guilt. One day as he walked home from school, Matthew stopped a bully from beating up one of the students. Many cheered him for his deed which seemed to flick a switch in Matt's mind.

Quickly, his grade rose and by the end of the year was on the honor role, gaining the affection of his parents once more. As a gift, his parents revealed to him the bank account they had saved up for his college. It had more than enough for him to go to school on and was even granted scholarships. This left Matthew with a great deal of money.

His heroism started one day when his guilt pushed him to the point of drinking and in a drunken state, bought 5 Batrangs found after a battle. Matthew didn't seem to remember this purchase until it arrived on his door. Matthew was at first shocked on the amount he spent on them, but using his sharp mind (which seemed to of sharpen back to its peak before drugs) Matthew reversed engineered the simple design to the point of easy reproduction. Though he did little with the weapons, merely spent his summer learning how to throw them. He started by watching old videos of Batman using them. By the start of his freshman year at college, he was very accurate and deadly with the batarangs.

Moving to an apartment near Gotham's college, Matthew saw firsthand the crime in the town. He didn't sleep well his first few weeks in his new place. Again it came to a moment when his neighbor's boyfriend attacked her that Matthew jumped into action. Using his batarangs, Matthew was able to fend off the boyfriend. The girl thanked him.....

Again the battle seemed to eat away at the guilt and a week after fending off the boyfriend, Matthew was patrolling his building. He quickly found that having just a few batarangs was not going to be enough to fight. He learned this lesson with a baseball bat to the ribs. Using his college money, Matthew started to buy products of other heroes. He was amazed at what they would leave behind. Using the Internet and the Black Market, Matthew gathered his suit. After the bat incident, Matthew bought a fallen Themysciraian woman's armor that was collected after they aided in an attack. Of course it was made for a woman, so Matt only using certain plates from the armor, holding the rest. After having his head slammed into a wall which broke his first helmet (as seen in the picture), Matt bought a Thanagorian helmet that had been uncovered after the invasion. He then rebuilt it with the look of a cowl (Much like Dredd's helm). Other instances brought up other reasons to buy more gear from others who specialized in that field. Much of his suit copied that of Batman's.

By the end of his sophomore year, he had had 23 emergency room visits and countless stitches. However, the guilt of what he did in the past seemed to ease. Using what he called, "The Batman Tactic", Matt also joined Muay Thai and Yoga in attempts to give him an edge of the local thugs. Also at this time, he had finished his suit. Having all but exhausted his funds (but still having scholarships) and using his developing mind, Matt seemed to piece together a truly freighting piece of armor. He was also now prowling the night not just in his building anymore.

When Jimmy Olsen visited Gotham (for a convection), he happened to get the first photo of Matt. The news noticed many similarities of his suit to other heroes and quickly named his "Legion." Unfortunately, this gained Nightwing's attention. Seeing a stranger using his mentor's weapons, he traveled to Gotham to confront him.

Upon meeting Legion, Nightwing demanded he stop using "stolen" equipment. After refusing, the two fought. The fight was short, but Legion impressed Nightwing and rather than seeing the young blood die from this "stupid crime fighting", he decided to train him once a week. Legion agreed to this and the two went their separate ways.

By the end of his junior year, Legion was starting to be taken seriously. Of course this lead too many others seeing him, including Wonder Woman (Diana). Like NIghtwing she confronted him. Unlike Nightwing, when he refused, she battled him. He seemed to hold his own for about 4 hits before a blow to the ribs cause 5 ribs to break. Furious with him, she ripped away the armor from his body. Legion proceeded to attack her again in rage. Both because of her verbal abuse (which always seemed to bring him back to that night) and because she destroyed his armor. Shocked, Wonder Woman beat him to near death. Worried she went too far and knew modern medicine wouldn't help him, she took him to Themyscira. Their magic was able to save his life.

As Matt was healing from his wounds, he was greeted by many of the women. This caused unease on the island and Matt was quickly locked up and guarded daily by Philippus. Unknown to the others Matt and Philippus seemed to grow found of one another. When he was healthy enough to stand again, Philippus began to secretly train Matthew in the art of combat. Both seemed to enjoy one another. Soon Philippus started staying inside his room to "guard" him all day and night. Diane grew suspicious and walked in unannounced, catching them in the act.

Matthew was almost banned from the islands with nothing more than a rowboat when Philippus stepped in and reasoned with Diana. She said if he could pass the test of battle, then he should be able to wear their armor with honor instead of dishonor. Diana gave Matthew the summer to train. With Philippus' help, he passed the test and was rewarded with his very own armor. Though nothing like Wonder Woman's, it was still better than anything else he could find. Matthew accepted it and a feast was held in his honor. It was there that after some talking with Mnemosyne, that Matthew tried the Courting ritual to Philippus. She politely turned him down in saying, "Come back, when you can hold your head high and are not burdened with troubles." Though she was flattered and told him that the answer wasn't no, just "not now." Matthew has since asked if he could return each summer to resume his training. Diana (now queen) has accepted his request each time. He has given up on Philippus for time being. Though their battles are always enjoyable.

After college, Matt has entered the business world under Wayne Industries. For now he is a simple Data Entry Clerk. The pay is ok, but the hours allow him to vanish when needed. With the help of both Themyscira and Nightwing, Legion is quickly becoming a force to be taken seriously.

Backstory:

Nathan Wesson was seventeen years old when he first enlisted in the United States Army, having lied about his age. After serving a stint in various countries, he was later assigned to Camp Washington where he had been promoted to the rank of Captain and reassigned to a new Sniper Team. In the early 2000, he met Major Douglas Brown who was tasked with training young soldiers in new fighting techniques in anticipation of brewing troubles taking place in the Middle East. Brown was amazed at how skilled Nathan was and how quickly he adapted to modern conventions of warfare. He realized that he was without a doubt the most able-bodied combatant he had ever encountered. He offered to privately train Nathan in guerrilla warfare. In less than a year, Nathan mastered every fighting form presented to him. The war in Afghanistan began to escalate and Nathan was shipped overseas. In the war, his unit massacred a village, which sickened him. He was also rescued by SAS member Baker, to whom he would later return the favor.

After careful consideration, Nathan as chosen for a secret experiment, the Army imbued him with enhanced physical powers in an attempt to create metahuman supersoldiers for the U.S. military. The experiment failed, leaving many disappointed. It was at this time, when Nathan said he would become the greatest solider both physically and mentally. Unfortunately, Pinpoint became a mercenary soon after the experiment when he defied orders and rescued his friend Baker, who was sent on a suicide mission by a commanding officer with a grudge.

After living the life of a mercenary, Nathan was contacted by Apex Corp. Apex was the leading privately owned company that multipule contracts to the army. Nathan accepted.

Nathan found that Apex Corp. was actually a ghost company for S.T.A.R Labs. After some digging, Pinpoint found out that Apex Corp was not only part of S.T.A.R but also only one man whom used S.T.A.R funding for his own deeds. Nathan threatened to bring his evidence to the public but instead made a deal when Rigoro Mortis came to him.

With the help of Rigoro Mortis, Nathan “acquired” 3 items from the Gotham Laborites Weapon Division. S.T.A.R however, never reported the items due to the legal issues of them existing in the first place.

Using the new found items, Pinpoint became one of the leading assassins in recent history. He never claims he is good nor does he brag. If anyone ever asks how good he is, he merely says to look at his track record.

Nathan obsesses about being ‘perfect. He has a small addiction to health pills to keep his physical form. He downs roughly13 different pills every 4 hours. He is still a mercenary for hire and has cut all ties with Apex, leaving him completely independent.

Background Information:

Rightful Heir to the throne as it is said, Jake’s has always been surrounded by glamour and fame of being one of the most desirable boys in America. His parents were owners of the Hotel and Casino The Blue Lagoon. Being one of the first lasting hotels in Atlantic City, The Blue Lagoon had been family run since the early 20s.

Though his parents pushed, Jake didn’t respond well to learning. It seemed physical power was his specialty. Captain of the Football, Ruby, Hockey, and Lacrosse Team in his private school Jake seemed to never tire of over powering his opponent. His love of the games increased in his sophomore year when he already earned a scholarship to Princeton. His grades were average of any other sports captain, but he never really tried hard enough.
It wasn’t until one of this last of the Football year his junior year that Jake’s life took a sudden turn. The day of the game, Jake awoke with a terrible headache. No matter what he took, nothing seemed to get rid of it. In the end, he just tried to fight it off thinking nothing of it, even as it worsened throughout the day.

The night of the game, Jake came face to face with The Wall, a senior of the opposing team who was known for sidelining the strongest of players. When the two clashed, Jake thought his head was going to explode as The Wall went flying across the field, slamming into the goal post. Many were shocked at this especially Jake whom passed out moments later from the headache.

Both were tested for drugs and ironically it was The Wall who was caught using them. Jake was sent home after a night in the hospital. The doctor’s saw nothing wrong with the boy’s head. His mother and father however, were no fools and knew something was up. Quickly, they dialed their friends and contacts and after countless tests, discovered Jake’s ‘problem’. Jake released brainwaves similar to other psychics in the past. His parents quickly covered up the news and dropped him from school, blaming head injuries from the game.

Before Jake knew it, he was being home schooled by day and taught how to control his powers at night. His parents brought in many teachers to see if they could they could teach their son to control his new found powers. Jake himself had no idea what to do, or how to do it. Every time he tried to concentrate on moving something, his mind would fill up of past events or past women. Many teachers of the psychic told his parents they he was a low level and might even show his powers ever again.

Though Jake hated being torn from school, he respected his parent’s wishes and spent most of his waking hours (when not being home schooled) watching old kung-fu movies. Going into his mid-senior year, his parents gave up on the psychic training and sent him back to public school. At the same time, Jake wanted to find a way to access this ‘inner secret’ of his so he joined Tai Chi. Known for its meditation methods, Jake slowly started to learn the ways of focusing his mind.

His teacher, an unknown man who replaced the original dojo teacher after an accident, recognized Jake’s potential. With the help of Tai Chi, Jake started to learn how to ‘stretch’ his psychic muscle. Soon, he was able to us this manifestation to push over tables and chairs, while at the same time learn to control it so as not to harm anyone through rage or impulse. Keeping this from his parents, Jake continued his teachings. When it came time for college, his master agreed to follow him to his new school. Jake thought it was somewhat weird, but wished to proceed in his training.

Against his master’s command, Jake refused to use his powers offensively, fearing he would accidently unleash it upon someone, hurting them. He cared too much about his parents (who knew would take the fall if something happened) so instead, he manifested his psychic energy into a ki like energy. Doing this fed his body of psychic energy, giving him access to many psychics like skills that not even other psychic knew existed. With his body feeding off this unique energy, In just a couple of years he had increased his strength, made his body immune to all disease, able to sense other living things just by thinking, and many more. He even discovered how to fly and other more powerful but still passive powers. The only downfall is that the power distracted him, making him open for attack. Even his master was surprised by the reaction his body gave to the concentrated psychic/ki like energy.

Finally after an argument his 3rd year in college, Jake fired his Tai Chi master. Angered the master left the city and surprising keeping Jake’s secret to himself, never to release it to the public which was Jakes biggest fear. Continuing his self taught Psy Chi training techniques, Jake looked for another defensive by slightly more aggressive martial arts. This led him to discover Keysi Fighting Method.

The summer of his graduation, Jake received a call from his old Tai Chi master. He had his parents and wished to talk. Jake agreed. He arrived to see that the master already had slain them. It turned out the old master was another psychic who saw Jake as a pupil who he hoped to trick into doing his dirty work for him. Jake and his master fought. With his new fighting style and psychic techniques, Jake was able to keep up with his old master. Unfortunately, the two had taken the streets in the fight. His master constantly threw innocents into the mix. Luckily, Jake had the ability to save them all and in a desperate attempt to stop his rampage, killed his master.

People commented the unknown hero claiming he to be “a Wonderful man” and it didn’t take long for the media to turn it into “Mr. Wonderful”. Since then, Jake became the owner of Blue Lagoon and has kept it thriving. He enjoys his job, for it gives him time to head out into the night as Mr. Wonderful.
