Congratulations Taliesin!

And thank you! I just read this entire thread and it's been very useful in helping me grok MM3e. I've decided to use your Growth and Shrinking rules in my games.

(And whenever you come back, just know that at least one person is waiting with bated breath for Squirrel Girl. :D)

Just a question, though, now that he is part of the Avengers and not just a street level hero, and he has shown in increase in his strength since joining the Avengers, shouldn't he be a PL 11 character now? Or, is this build representative of his "iconic" street hero persona? (Looking forward to your Falcon build, though I don't see him listed on your roster.)

This build already places him at his current Str with Str 13, which is firmly between the 50 tonners and the real powerhouses like the Thing. It seems about right to me. Luke's schtick has always been his Toughness, not necessarily his strength.

I've got Falcon planned. Odd that he isn't on my list, since I did import my 2E list. EDIT: No, he's there.

Is Cage really this strong now? This puts him well above your Ms. Marvel build. I thought he was at about 25 tons while she was at 50.

Actually, Pym recently stated Ms. Marvel's strength as 92 tons with her quite probably being able to exceed even that. Meanwhile the Thing is now a 100 tonner, up from the old 75ton limit. Not really sure why so many of Marvel's guys are getting stronger, maybe they've been spending some of those xps they've gained over the years. Either way, strength seems to be pretty much a variable stat right now.

Of course once Ms. Marvel becomes Captain Marvel in July I'm sure she'll get another boost.....which she'll lose when they depower her back Ms. M again of course in a year or two.

The problem with determining strength is that in the '80s, they REALLY pushed the "standardized strength limits" (especially under Mark Gruenwald and the Marvel Handbooks) that usually put most non-Hulk guys at 100 tons or less. But writers are bad at figuring out what 100 tons REALLY IS, so you had guys lifting skyscrapers, yachts & giant monsters with no care given to actual weights (effectively, they could lift whatever the writer SAID they could, because writers don't need to limit themselves to what some bio said).

Some writers are still mixed up with that, claiming that certain people have a certain strength, even though you could probably prove that they don't. It's best to just place them in order in your own mind.

If I had the know how and skills, I would make an unofficial handbook using Tali's stats and in a format similar to the DC heroes stuff and bind that sucker together at Kinko's or something.

That Annihilius build is absolutely awesome. He is far and away my favorite villain from Marvel's cosmic set.

Is there any chance of seeing builds for Marvel Boy/Protector, Phylla-Vell, and Quasar?
Thank you,

A friend of mine convinced his wife to let them give their son the middle name of Aragorn. Now there's a love that will last.

My brother gave his first-born boy the middle name Danger. True story. My guess is that will shorten the kid's life expectancy by maybe 10 years.

Taliesin, my man, we miss you. How's life with the new bundle of joy? (yeah, yeah, sleep deprivation...gotta deal with that for a little bit.) Beyond that, any eta on the build master's triuphant return!?

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the well-wishes. I'm aiming to slowly ease my way back into things. The kid is great. Strong as heck--Tal-El was a well chosen nickname. He even has a couple of long strands of hair up front that I'm tempted to twist into a spitcurl.

There are a lot of things I want to work on and post, but we'll see what I manage to get to. Off the top of my head:

House rules: Some of these were actually incorporated into the Power Profiles as options in some form or another--usually in a more conservative manner (for instance the exponential ranges in the Sensory Powers Profile), but I still have the more radical versions.

I also have a "M&M-lite" that I was using a while back to ease new players into the game and which I've had a little time to refine, so look for that.

Regarding builds, I'm kind of at a crossroads. I plan to continue making Marvel builds compatible with the existing DC builds. I originally wanted to redo the DC builds as well, but I probably will shelve that until well after the fourth DC book comes out, and some of us freelancers might get together to unofficially work on characters that missed the cut. I also intend to tackle some non-comic characters.

That's a pretty ambitious slate, so we'll see how it works out in the next few months. I also have several months of threads to catch up on, which seems less likely, but if there's any in particular that I should know about, please direct me to them.

Welcome back. Glad to hear your child is strong and healthy. Personally, nothing changed my life for the better than becoming a husband and father...it's a heck of a ride. Enjoy the precious moments.

Very much looking forward to this. I ran my first ever M&M 3e games this past weekend (a Superboy scenario from the quickstart, and a Batman one-shot against the Talons) and all went well, but anything that would help both me and new players ease into the game would be greatly appreciated.

Yay! A Tally sighting! And glad to hear that Tal-El is going well. Totally agree with Jaysin1414, being Father Thorpacolypse is the best thing I have ever done. Time goes fast though, so enjoy the time of being a PL15 to him while it lasts. In about 10 years, you'll be a PL5 and your Int score will be about -2 as far as he's concerned.

If you used my Talons, Jaysin1414, I hoped they worked well for you.
