I also second the opinion.

THANK YOU FOR THE COUNT!!!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D

RE: format, I'm good either way, I like either format. I say, please use whats easier for you to put them out here on this thread, in the end, what I care about is just your version of the stats. If herolab is a good tool for you, I say go for it.

Out of curiosity, Is there a way with herolab where one can like lets say, cut and paste this Nefaria and place him into their herolab program without and not have to hand enter it?

At any rate...AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR THE COUNT!!!!!!

With all apologies to Samson, who is obviously a fan, Count Nefaria isn't a villain I find particularly interesting...which is too bad. He's got a great look and he's incredibly powerful, but, much like Graviton, his appearances have left me unmoved. While he's definitely a step up from Vulcan/Exodus/whoever Claremonts' "Ultimate Villain Du Jour" is, he lacks the flavor of a Magneto or Doom or Thanos. Still, a nice rendition of the Count, including his power vampirism traits.

As for Herolab, while I personally like to do the math myself (I can always use the practice), sometimes when you're casting a game on the boards, it's nice to be able to have something you can just input a character into and it'll check the math for you.

No, but if you're really nice, Taliesin might send you the .por file, or a link to download it.

Well, having an easily portable .por file and an easy pdf output was a really big plus for using Herolab. The bbcode output will just be something I'll probably have to rewrite on the side or something.

I'm an HL fan myself, but have to admit the program does kind of force a format that isn't always as pleasant to the eye as what a human can produce. On the other hand, given that Taliesin may be able to produce more write-ups in less time with it, I'll live. Besides, I'm entering them all in there anyway ...

His 1st appearances after just receiving his powers (Avengers circa 1978) blew my pre-pubescent mind. He didn't just beat the Avengers, he decimated them. Then Thor showed up at the end of the 1st part as a cliffhanger.

In the second part he caught Thor's hammer which at the time just wasn't done! Then to be taken out by Vision at the end in a last ditch effort. One of my favorite childhood stories.

I will admit all his other appearances have left me flat. But I will always remember that climactic battle with fondness.

I feel the same way about the ending of the Age of Apocalypse (before they brought it back and ruined it) and the both major battles with Onslaught (X-Men, as he made his initial appearance and escape from Xavier's mind, and the Marvel Universe, when he was finally defeated through great sacrifice to the entire non-mutant Marvel hero community).

Those moments were so well written, with awesome bad guys, and with just the right amount of heroic drawbacks, that I was blown away by how great they were.

Sorry, that was a bit off-topic, but talking about classic fight scenes that define our experiences of comic books got me thinking about it. Ok, maybe that's a little dramatic of an explanation, but it's fitting for my experience.

Its that very same appearence that hooked me as well. I saw him before with the Ani-men (in X-Men #95 where he was more of a mastermind with minions) and thought he bit it with Thunderbird. I thought his appearence much, much later with Busick & Perez was fine, but that one appearence when he gained his powers made me a fan for life. He's a great Avengers villian (when done correctly)

Real quick back to format, my only real problem with the HL version is it doesn't give a character's real name anywhere, but if the trade off is it makes it easier for Taliesin, I can live with that easily.

I remember that story, and was shocked later when Living laser, Power man and Whirlwind still had there powers...I thought he stole them. foolish me, I hadn't realized, you can't keep a good mook down. That was also when Wonder Man was doing his "I'm a coward in a really, really, really awful costume" schtick. Probably the best Count Nefaria story ever written. Now, I DO have a fondness for his daughter, Madame Masque. I thought she was a great Iron Man love interest/villain.

That's one of my favorite Avengers arcs, too... Wonder Man in his classic costume, being given Cap's shield to help in the fight (wait, does that break PL caps?)... Great Byrne art. Wish they would collect and reprint it, like they did for the Korvac Saga.

Regarding names in Hero Lab- there is a field at the bottom of the Personal tab that let's you add stuff like real name, catchphrase, or the like, usable for multiple instances.

(Edited to attribute the correct artist on that arc.)

HL makes it easier for me to output these characters in a format that others can use. I'm not sure it makes the posting easier.

However, I think it's easier to input into HL and take a little time to redo the build to look nice on the ATT than it is to input the build onto the ATT and spend a lot of time figuring out how to make an accessible format without using HL.

So I'll probably do both and find a place to link the HL file.

Any chance of getting a Psylocke and/or a Rachel Summers build?

They've always been two of my favorite X-Women and I loved your previous builds of them.

(Truthfully, I have a character that is based on a blending of the two and I used your old 2e builds as a base for my character. Now that I am updating her to 3e i'd love to see how you build them to get ideas. :) )
