Comments: Rusty is one of the more sympathetic characters in Noble Causes. The first born of the Noble Clan, he was a super strong, golden boy type of hero until he was nearly killed by a robotic assassin and Doc had to transfer his brain into a robot body or lose him forever. Rusty has had a hard time adjusting and compounding that was finding out his wife was having an affair and other big blow to the family just about set him over the edge.

As a build, he’s pretty standard robotic powerhouse. He’s an experienced fighter and even though some characters said he was stronger in his real body, he still took out 3 other heroes in a brawl so I thought PL11 was about right.

Reputation: Most people don't even know he exists and he likes it that way so he can operate as an urban legend

Comments: Frost has become my favorite character in Noble Causes, and apparently that’s the general feeling among fans of the book based on my research. He’s Gaia’s son from an affair (I’m not saying who is dad is yet, it’s a fun reveal) and as such, Doc Noble wants nothing to do with him and they kept him hidden away from the rest of the family for a long time. So while Rusty, Race and Zephyr were being raised in splendor as America's Super Kids, he was was living in a small apartment with a family friend. Gaia visited him regularly when she wasn’t out saving the world or doing press junkets but he longed for her love and the recognition that Rusty, Race and Zephyr received. Eventually, though, the defense mechanisms went up and he became your general aloof bad boy with attitude, and he even uses his hidden status to his advantage, being thought of as urban legend which allowed him to do some wetworks stuff for the government and other interests. Despite all that, deep down, he’s a good guy, he just has a lot of issues.

Despite the varying degrees of scorn he’s been treated with by the rest of the Noble clan, he’s saved their bacon on more than one occasion and even though he’s been having an affair with Celeste, he still seems to really want to be part of the family. I think...It’s a messed up deal, which probably why I love the book so much..


Frost Noble, the bad boy of the Noble clan. He's one of the high points of the series.

Comments: I may not keep to this (especially as I work on Coyote Starrk and Barragan who are both MASSIVE pains in the arse to build) but I am planning on working on the Espada from top to bottom. So since he is Espada Cero, Yammy is the first Espada to get built.

Yammy was fairly easy, really. He’s basically a brick with growth, which is a pretty standard build type. The only thing I may end up changing are his caps. He is the most powerful Espada, but I don’t think he’s the best. With +20 strength and +19 Toughness, no one else can touch him there. But outside of that…he’s dumb as a post, inaccurate and has no other skills. But he’s a beast once he releases his Resurreccion. It took both Kenpachi and Byakuya to take him down, and both of them are probably going to be powerful PL13 builds when I’m done so PL14 felt about right for him for now.


Starting with some Espada from Bleach, here is Yammy one of my favorites, mainly because he is a such an ass, he's easy to hate.

Comments: Espada #1, Coyote Starrk. He is one cool customer. He’s lazy, handsome and would rather nap than fight, but when he does, he’s a bad dude. I may take him up another level. He was able to take on Captains Ukitake and Kyoraku and then two Captain level Visoreds before finally falling. Still, I didn't watch the whole fight, so there may be some inaccuracies in the build. If so, let me know.

I do know that his spiritual pressure was so strong, he was killing all the Hollows in Hueco Mundo that tried to approach him so he split off Lillynette from himself to have a companion. He was one of the more sympathetic Espada, really just wanting not to be alone and only fighting because he had to. I'd like to think in my little universe, that he didn't actually die and is somehow being redeemed to help assist with another universe shattering threat.

Here's Lilynette and after that are the spirit wolves he summons. I named them Los Lobos, even though they are not technically called that but since his release is the Los Lobos (and I always liked the group :wink: ) I went with it.

Comments: Lillynette is Starrk’s counterpart. She is basically a part of his spirit energy that he split out to give himself some companionship when he was a powerful Arrancar in Hueco Mundo. On her own, she’s enough to a high seated officer a fight, but most Lieutenants and Captain was trash her without a second though. Captain Ukitake stopped her Cero with his bare hands and said it was far less powerful than one of a Menos so 6 ranks might even be too high. But I didn’t want her to be too much of a pushover on her own so she is decent on offense and pretty good on defense.

Comments: Frost has become my favorite character in Noble Causes, and apparently that’s the general feeling among fans of the book based on my research. Despite all that, deep down, he’s a good guy, he just has a lot of issues.

Despite the varying degrees of scorn he’s been treated with by the rest of the Noble clan, he’s saved their bacon on more than one occasion and even though he’s been having an affair with Celeste, he still seems to really want to be part of the family. I think...It’s a messed up deal, which probably why I love the book so much..


Frost Noble, the bad boy of the Noble clan. He's one of the high points of the series.


Frost is my favorite character of Noble Causes (next to Liz) because he's actually a decent kind of person. He just wanted to have a little of recognition and love from his relatives.

There's an incredible wealth of character builds here! Really enjoying them. These latest from Bleach finally intrigued me to start watching the series two weeks ago. Thanks for both the awesome character builds and getting me hooked on a great anime, Thorpacolyspe!

You're most welcome, Moo goo! I have to give the credit to Kreuzritter. I've told the story before, but I used to HATE anime. But a few years ago, his 2E Full Metal Alchemist builds got me interested in that series and it became a gateway anime to others, including Bleach, which is my fave.

I'm suffering from a bit of building malaise at the moment, but I'm sure it will pass soon and I'll more ready to post more stuff. Usually happens this time of year due to summer activities and such, and I've also been working on clearing off my DVR that I let get WAY out of hand. I had all of the Ultimate Spider-Man series, Young Justice: Invasion and the second season of Avengers to watch, but I had to cut Spider-Man (amongst other things, like a re-watching of Cowboy Bebop) just because I am out of time.

But it looks like I will be getting a week without the Little Thorpacolypses, so that massive influx of free time will have to be filled somehow. :wink:

Of course, she was far more worried about being rich and famous than being a superhero, although she’s actually a pretty good one when she wants to be.

Started having an affair with Rusty’s half-brother Frost and so they are now divorced, but she still hangs out the Noble clan quite a bit, mainly to stay in the spotlight and continue to profit off the Noble name. The tension between her and Rusty is a good stuff.


My building malaise has lifted so I've got several builds for all 3 of my threads. I'm going back to Noble Causes for a bit first, so here is Celeste Noble.

He and Draconis’ son, Krennick, were bitter enemies until they were trapped in alternate dimension for a year but after spending all that time together, they became best friends and they treat each other like brothers.

But he really rocked the family boat, and kicked off the series in grand style, by marrying a “normal” girl. After years of dating girls in the superhero scene, he fell in love with Liz Donnelly, a bookstore owner with no powers and no contacts in the superhero community. They got married in the “wedding of the century” and her view of the Noble world from the normal person perspective is what keeps the book, and sometimes the Nobles themselves, grounded.


Race Noble, the best of the Noble kids as far as being a decent person goes. And of course, speedsters are always hell to deal with in a fight.

Comments: Krennick is the “Hadji” of the Noble fam. He is the son of Doc’s archnemesis, Draconis but after he and Rusty were trapped in an alternate dimension for a year, they bonded and have become best friends. As such, he stays with the Nobles and is treated like one of the fam.

At first, despite his appearance, he seems to be about the most normal one, but a little bit of his dark side appears when it becomes apparent he is in with Zephyr but she seems like him a brother. He finds an outlet for it, but it becomes a bit of an issue later on. As a build, I’m only on TBP #4 and they really don’t show much of their powers and action since the story focuses on their interactions more than anything so a lot of this is guesswork. Then again, MOST of the stuff in the Noble builds is guesswork, so I guess this is really right in line.


Krennick is an interesting character, for sure. I love how they have developed him as time has gone on in series. I'm up to TBP #7, actually, I added the healing factor he showed in TBD #6.
