Comments: I loves me some Emma Frost. Scott may be the leader and other characters like Beast and Nightcrawler may represent the heart of the mutant community, but Emma represents one of the most important parts of the mutant race: it’s BALLS. Despite her gender, she's got the biggest set in the X-Men, even more than Logan. Why?

Who else could manipulate so many as a villain before and now a reformed (sorta) hero, including the master manipulator himself, Norman Osborn? Who else would be waiting for the frickin’ Phoenix to come back so she can take another shot at her? And who else would not only tell Stark to piss off during the Civil War, but when Ms. Marvel came back to try to sway her again, she dropped wickedly graphic illusions of M-Day and the former X-Student bus that got blown up by the Purifiers into her head? My girl, Emma, that’s who. Love her or hate her, you can’t ignore her.

I went the same route BARON did of not making her Diamond Form an AE since I thought he made a great case as to why it shouldn’t be. That made it tougher to fit her into the 15/pts a rank frame, but I think she came out OK. And getting this one out of the way will make Professor X, Jean and others a lot easier to stat up.

b]Secret Origins:[/b] Emma Grace Frost grew up in the rich neighborhood of Snow Valley, Massachusetts as the daughter of a wealthy, albeit abusive father. She developed her powers while under pressure from her father to succeed. Emma blackmailed her father after he got a professor who she was romantically linked with fired. Despite her father being upset, he decided she was smart and offered her to take over the family business, but Emma declined preffering to make her fortune herself. Emma left her family and joined the radical mutant group, the Hellfire Club. After spending a stint as the “White Queen,” she later defected to the X-Men to lead the team.

The Story so Far: Her first era presented her as a leader in the Hellfire Club, but this ended when the manic time traveler Fitzroy appeared from the future, resulting in the deaths of many of her Hellions and putting Emma into a coma. Her involvement in the Phalanx Covenant led her to becoming co-teacher of the new Generation X team with Banshee. Later, when the Sentinels devastated Genosha she gained a new power - her diamond form.

She became Cyclops' new partner and lover, and a co-leader of the X-Men. Currently she is helping run the Jean Grey school along with Professor Xavier and Wolverine while Scott leads the Justice League.

Characterization: Known for her telepathic mastery, biting wit and revealing outfits, Emma Frost has transitioned from one of the X-Men's deadliest foes into a central figure on the side of the mutants.

Friends and Foes: She has been in a long relationship with Scott Summers and although they are currently not dating, they have been in contact several times recently, prompting Kitty to tell her to “just go get him, get married and be done with it”.

She has a motherly relationship with the Stepford Cuckoos and has struck up an unlikely friendship with Hawkgirl, who is “secretly” trying to get her and Scott back together. She has a long rivalry with the former Black Queen of the Hellfire Club, Selene, as well as other former and current members of the Club.

Clean Up 4/22/12: Emma gets a good review after I went through the Mental Powers Power Profile. Much cleaner array.

Clean Up 6/8/12: Emma goes down to PL12 as I continue to adjust for DCA power levels.

Comments: Malice is a long time Marauder that exists as an incorporeal entity who takes over other bodies for pretty much as long as she wants until they are able to save. Some people can do it fast, both for Polaris and Omega Sentinel, the possession went on for weeks, so either they rolled REALLY bad on their saves, it was no save, or pure Continuous, which I would hate to really use in game for something like that. So we’ll make it short term possessions like Deadman for now.

Comments: The best bitch character on TV right now IMHO, Cersei Lannister, played by the wonderful Lena Heady, who also played a nicer medieval bitch in 300 as Leonidas’ wife Gorgo. And she played Sara Conner on the Terminator TV series, and she was kind of a bitch, too. Huh. The poor woman might be getting typecast…

Anyway, Cersei is an unlikable but great character in the series. She was in a marriage of convenience with King Robert but sleeping with her brother Jaime all the time. She immediately lets you know that she sees herself as better than everyone and is obviously running things behind the scenes. Once Robert passes, it becomes even more apparent as she sees to it that Joffrey ascends to the throne despite the rumors (and actual truth) about his parentage.

Now that her son Joffrey is on the Throne, she has been doing her best to keep him looking good, but Joffrey’s impulsiveness and vicious streak keep undoing her, and Tyrion’s, attempts at damage control. She still as her finger on the pulse of things, even advising Tyrion of things he doesn’t know and has many under the table deals going on to cement her, and other I suppose, Joffrey’s power. And man, does she have an axe to grind with her little brother. She blames Tyrion for her mother’s death and once Tyrion arranges for her daughter to be wed to another high family in Dore, she REALLY has it in for him as she doesn’t want her daughter to be used like she was in being forced to marry Robert. And she doesn’t want her daughter to leave, even though Tyrion knew she would be safer out of King’s Landing as the War of the Five Kings comes closer to their doorstep, as she truly loves her. Showed she truly does have a hear underneath all that bitchiness and treachery.

While her Vibranium stuff doesn’t work now in the main Marvel continuity, it does in the Thorpacoverse, she functions more like her original introduction into the main Marvel U. In the Thorpacoverse, she is part of the Initiative at the behest of Steve and Bucky, even though she still takes off on her own sometimes for her own adventures.

Comments: As part of the thinning of the herd of Spider-people in the Grim Hunt, Anya Corazon here, who had Spidey type powers as Arana, had them stripped and how she fights crime as a non-powered young superhero. She originally wanted to stick with Arana, but decided to give in and take on the identity of Spider-Girl (which was smart on her part since it got her a new book).

Not really knowing how much she’s been trained, but knowing how plucky she is, I stuck with a PL8 and make her a stick and move type fighter. She’s only a PL5 unarmed offensively, but with her bola, she’s a solid PL7 and defensively she’s PL8 with her dodge defense, since even before her powers were awakened, she is very quick and was a well trained gymnast. I think she and Rikki would be a fun combo for a street level team game. Give them a brick to set up and they could do some serious damage.

Clean Up 6/8/12: Reworked Anya to her current re-powered version.

Arana received some on the job Training as Ms. Marvel's sidekick for the first chunk of the Civil War. Training on tactics and whatnot, she was their when Ms. Marvel she took down Julia Carpenter Spider Woman/Arachne. She should totally have some skill ranks to show her experience in the Fast Food industry. She worked at Chicken Cow for a while.

Kate herself is a street level type bad ass and I almost went the Reflex Memory route since the Marvel Wikis and other books have reference it, but I just went with straight melee and bow mastery advantages and skills.

And that's it for this LADIES' NIGHT. More Young Avengers builds are coming up as I have time this week. I didn't get Cassie done in time for this LADIES' NIGHT run, so she'll be in the mix with the others. I've also got some more X-Verse builds on tap and then I'm going to mix in some villains before I start some playtesting.

I did a couple of short ones with my PL10 PC Daredevil against Jabroni's Bantam and Gamecock and it's not even worth posting. DD got his arse handed to him, sadly enough, so I am fixing him and then I am in the middle of a Gambit vs. Black Manta test that I will probably post once I take time from building to finish it. He rolled over the Manta Men, but he's not faring well against Manta.

I have only read a little of The Runaways, but the oldest Little Thorpacolypse is starting to get into comics (and I had NOTHING to do with that... :wink: ) and he likes teen character stuff so I am going to get myself, er, him, some Runaways trades to read shortly.

I am really bad about actually getting around to playtests, but if I actually follow through, I can try to work that in. However, I don't have Knight and Squire builds. Well, yet, anyway. Doesn't mean I won't, of course... :wink:

Comments: As I said earlier, I really like the original run of Young Avengers and Iron Lad here was the root of all the mayhem. He is actually a young version of Nathaniel Richards, alias Kang the Conqueror, who was rescued from a life threatening injury by his future self who took him around the timestream to show him who he would become. He didn’t like it, so like any normal teen, he rebelled by swiping his armor and trying to go back in time to find the Avengers, who he realized were the only ones who could stop Kang. He came back during Avengers: Disassembled however and ending up having to find the kids that were part of the Avengers Failsafe program housed in The Vision, hence, he started the Young Avengers. Sadly, he had to leave this time because his presence was messing up the timestream, but he pops up from time to time (no pun intended) as a plot device for his young friends’ adventures.

His armor rocks, with a Neurokinetic adaptation ability and the usual battlesuit capabilities in addition to his time travel abilities. He’s a character that would have to be GM’d very carefully as he could be a game breaker, but personally, I am trying to lighten up my restrictions of variable powers since I have found that anything can always be worked around if need be.
