What I never really understood about Galactus: How in the worlds does he have a space ship capable of fitting him in it comfortably, as well as not be detected a couple months in advance?!? I mean, the dude is big enough to eat planets, and he somehow manages to find enough material to build an entire ship capable of fitting him...his ship must be so huge that it would have it's own gravitation field! How does he get it anywhere close to a star system without disrupting the orbits of the planets orbiting said stars?!?

Comments: Galactus’ Punisher Robots rarely show up anymore, but from time to time he brings them out to deal with cosmic threats. One of them was able to beat The Thing so PL12 felt about right, especially considering that they will have the Minion rule working against them a lot since he normally sends them en masse against characters like Thanos.

Here's some Mass Combat stats for them as well, since Galactus has a ton of them he can bring out when he needs to.

Now, my good Dragon, surely you're not trying to use real physics in a comic setting are you> You'll strain your suspension of disbelief. :)

There's so many things in the comic world that defy physical laws, I don't know where to begin. It's best not to think too much about that stuff and enjoy the fact that we regularly get to see a guy that was one of the first beings to trod the universe after The Big Bang eat planets wearing a big purple hat! 8)

Build Comments: Tenebrous and his follow Proemial God, Aegis, showed up in Annihilation to do battle with Galactus. The two of them took Galactus and The Surfer out pretty easily and it was stated that they have the same power level as Galactus. I think Galactus would have dispatched them himself if he wasn’t blindsided, since he beat them a long time back, so I made Tenebrous a PL lower and Aegis 2 lower. I think that works because they did get taken out by The Surfer on his own later on, with some Extraordinary Effort and PP usage in game terms. Of course, comics don't really deal in game terms, but the way I play things, you can pull off just about anything with enough HP and Extraordinary Effort, so I could it happening in a game.

Tenebrous hasn’t shown that darkness power that I added but since he is supposed to be the Darkness god, I added it for flavor.

Secret Origins: Tenebrous was one of the Proemial Gods and existed when the universe was very young. Along with Aegis, the Lady of All Sorrows, he destroyed all of the Chaos Mites that were created by Diableri of Chaos.

Tenebrous was one of few Proemial Gods to be very loyal to Diableri's cause of remaking the universe in his own image. This battle eventually brought them to Galactus. Tenebrous and Aegis were the only Proemial Gods aside from Antiphon the Overseer, who decided to remain a neutral party in this conflict, that survived this battle and were imprisoned by Galactus in the Kyln.

The Story so Far: They remained there for centuries until the Annihilation Wave destroyed the prison, freeing them and other prisoners of Galactus including Fallen One, Galactus' first herald, and Kosmos the Maker, also known as the Beyonder. Tenebrous began draining the strength of Fallen One and with this newfound strength he and Aegis confronted and easily defeated Galactus and Silver Surfer.

Thanos arrived with a Chaos Mite on his shoulder who would not reveal how she survived all this time to Aegis and Tenebrous. Thanos began to drain to The Power Cosmic from Galactus and Silver Surfer and then handed both over to Annihilus . Some time later Tenebrous and Aegis returned to their old prison in hopes of finding other surviving Proemial Gods. All they could find was the rotting corpse of Antiphon the Overseer.

By this time the Silver Surfer and Galactus had escaped from Thanos and Silver Surfer found Tenebrous and Aegis at the ruins of the prison. Galactus soon arrived only to witness the Silver Surfer's impossible victory over both Tenebrous and Aegis.

Friends and Foes: Tenebrous is generally with his Proemial God mate, Aegis. He still bears ill will towards Galactus and now The Silver Surfer.

I think it's because they are so cosmically powerful that they have to be rather comical in appearance! :P

That, or people are too scared to tell them that they look silly for fear of being smashed to tiny subatomic particles...

Sorry, I was in Physics class today, and the teacher showed us a video about the Hubble Deep Field images. I suggest you watch them if you haven't, it really puts things to scale when we are talking about the cosmos. It really puts things in perspective, truly.

Nevertheless, I guess that's why we must always follow Wile E Coyote's Laws of Cartoon Physics instead!
for an example of such, refer to Order of the Stick # 437
Wile E Coyote's laws should be a closer rule set to follow in comics.

Well, remember Galactus doesn't pop planets into his mouth like a sandwich or anything. He lands on them, assembles the machine that breaks down the organic matter on the planet into energy that he can consume and then eats that energy, leaving the planet a lifeless rock. Some writers have shown this to destroy the structural integrity of the planet, but others have had characters land on planets Galactus has "eaten". Galactus physical dimensions are usually portrayed in the 50 to 100 foot tall range, though there seems to be some artistic license involved as to how massive he is. Just like space travel in comics happens "at the speed of plot", so does Galactus size correspond to "as giant as the story requires him to be".

Enemy: Galactus
Motivation: Remaking the universe into her vision

Abilities 102 + Skills 19 (38 ranks) + Advantages 1 + Powers 426 + Defenses 30 = 578 / 578

Build Comments: Aegis, the Lady of All Sorrows, has a cool name. but hasn’t had a chance to show much other than some blasts and being able to smash The Surfer. So her build is pretty much Galactus scaled down a bit, but hopefully she’ll get resurrected again and have a chance to show more since I think she and Tenebrous are good concepts overall.

Secret Origins: Aegis has lived in this universe since it was young. She was tasked with sorting out the divergences of the living universe. She destroyed all of the chaos mites that Diableri created. After the Proemial Gods lost their battle with Galactus, the corrupted Aegis and Tenebrous were the only survivors and they were imprisoned by Galactus in the Kyln at the edge of the universe.

The Story so Far: Aegis and Tenebrous remained there for centuries until the Annihilation Wave entered the positive universe and damaged the prison. They escaped along with Fallen One, Galactus's first herald, and Kosmos the Maker, also known as the Beyonder. Tenebrous drained the strength of Fallen One and he and Aegis confronted and easily defeated Galactus and Silver Surfer. They eventually returned to their old prison to search for any other surviving Proemial Gods but they only found the body of Antiphon the Overseer. The Silver Surfer found them here and, in a suicidal maneuver, channeled the chaotic and mysterious energies of the now unchecked "crunch" into a tidal wave, seemingly killing them both, and gravely injuring himself.

However, Aegis has been seen recently on the fringes of Sector 2815, her reasons for her apparent resurrection and current activities is unknown.

Friends and Foes: Aegis is generally with her Proemial God mate, Tenebrous. She still bears ill will towards Galactus and now The Silver Surfer.

Loving the cosmic characters Thorp. Especially the really powerful ones like Tenebrous. I know growth now mentioned in the power profile gives you a rank of reach for every four ranks of growth. I know a lot of my old builds need cleaned up because of this. You have been a machine lately. These aren't easy builds either.

While the concept of cosmic space god has been diluited to the maximum (Marvel seem to be extremly fond of it), I like the design of the Proemial gods. There's something utterly refreshing in something so essential. Unfortunatly having being introduced now, they are just the new fish in the really big pond, which mean that they're unliekly to be reused soon.

As a personal note I reused Aegis design (and name) for a NPC of my Generations of Freedom campaign world.

Really? I have all that Power Profile, too, but I obviously didn't read that very closely. That's good, I thought that was a major oversight. I guess I'll edit about...100 builds now... :D

Toughness +22 (+8 Impervious), Fortitude +16, Will +10

COMPLICATIONS:
Motivation: Killing, kiling and more killin'…
Reputation: Generally no one ever likes to see a Herald of Galactus.
Rivalry: The other Heralds of Galactus.

Abilities 96 + Skills 16 (32 ranks) + Advantages 14 + Powers 127 + Defenses 10 = 263 / 263

Comments: Morg was one of Galactus' big errors in Heralds. Since he was tired of having Heralds with guilt about his role, he decided to take on Morg, who was an executioner who had no qualms about life ending. Or course, went a bit overboard with the life-ending thing, so Big G had to take him out. He came back, of course, and got into it with several heralds and held his own, but finally lost in the end.

I haven’t actually read the series where Morg takes on like 5 heralds at once but I’ve heard about it enough to make sure I gave him enough power to do it, at least for a little while. While the other Heralds I have, or will build, I am making PL15 tops, he gets a PL16 with beyond Doomsday Toughness and a Multiattack strike with his axe, making him mega-tough to deal with.

Secret Origins: On his home planet, Morg served in an army of rebels fighting against their Queen. He always sought to serve the most powerful. His rebellion was defeated by the sheer numbers of the queen's army. He was taken prisoner and he and the other survivors were brought before the queen, who gave them one last chance to serve her. Since Morg was drawn to the powerful, he turned on his allies and joined the side of the queen. He was then given a position as executioner, and his first duty was to execute his former comrades, which he did with no remorse.

His planet was then approached by Galactus, Devourer of Worlds. In the presence of the awesome being, Morg showed no fear; instead exhibiting a respectful but uncowed defiance. Impressed with Morg's demeanor and wary after losing several heralds to attacks of conscience, Galactus decided to recruit this brutal and remorseless specimen as his latest herald.

Morg gladly accepted the task of being Galactus' herald, and was given the Power Cosmic, making him powerful enough to rival the Silver Surfer, a status Galactus has not allowed his other heralds. As a weapon, Morg wields a double-edged battle axe which he previously used in his executioner duties. Morg served as a herald of Galactus after Galactus' previous herald, Nova, was expelled for sparing suitable but inhabited planets from his hunger.

The Story so Far: Silver Surfer learned about Morg after discovering that Nova had left Galactus. He expressed his concerns to Galactus about Morg's low morals but were dismissed. Morg battled and easily defeated the Surfer, leaving him unconscious. The Surfer knew he needed assistance and sought out Firelord. Although they had never been the best of friends, Firelord agreed to help stop this unworthy herald.

Seeking reinforcements, Silver Surfer and Firelord recruited the rest of Galactus' former heralds: Nova, Terrax and Air-Walker, whom they had to unearth from his grave and reassemble. During this time, Morg discovered a powerful pool akin to the Fountain of Youth on a planet to which he had lead Galactus. The pool enhanced Morg's powers exponentially before he returned to his master and the planet was destroyed.

The assembled heralds confronted Morg together and were easily defeated. In the battle, Air-Walker was severely damaged again and Morg killed Nova by blasting her in the back when he was thought to have been beaten. Galactus was not pleased with this, so he removed the power cosmic that he had imbued in Morg, leaving him with only the power he'd gained from the pool he'd discovered. In his weakened state, he was still able to defend himself briefly. Although the Silver Surfer tried to stop Terrax, Morg was killed by Terrax in the end. To repay Galactus the inconvenience of losing his herald, both Firelord and Air Walker volunteered to stay with him.

Months later, Galactus resurrected Morg to give him a second chance. Morg then went off in search of Terrax to exact vengeance upon him and retrieve his axe. He defeated Terrax and was about to finish him but in their battle they were ambushed by robots working for the villain Tyrant and were taken captive.

After escaping Tyrant’s clutches thanks to Thanos and his allies, he returned as Galactus’ herald for a while before being dismissed again and choosing to wander the cosmos in search of greater power.

Characterization: Morg is as remorseless as any herald could ever be and has no regard for any life.

Friends and Foes: He’s all about himself and serving power so at this time, he has no allies.

Yeah, i'm avoiding the space god thing. Then again my campaign universe is kind of disorganised on the space front... No Green Lantern/Nova corp for my universe, no instantanous travel. My universe is kind of like the marvel space empire thing, but the space empires are considerably smaller & due to distance they rarely interact with each other. Even the few that have coneected stargates to make travel fast, are so spread out that i'm not doing the DC Green Lantern/Marvel Nova corp over crowded universe thing.

Some very cool write-ups here! :)

I am not too familiar with many of the Heralds of Galactus, such as Aegis. Is she an old or new Herald? Isn't there another Herald who is sort of an energy creature similar to this Aegis? I thought Terrax was the Herald with the Axe, but then I saw Morg. I mostly know of SS, Nova and Terrax. And someone told me there was another Herald so powerful from far in the past, that even Galactus was no match for him and was afraid to face him. Any ideas on these?

Aegis is not an Herald at all, she's a proemial god, one of the many kind of space gods from the MU. The character you're thinking about is probably Stardust. Aside from that, both Morg and Terrax used an axe (they even fight over Terrax weapon after Galactus destoryed Morg's).
