This is a character concept that I was introduced to in the Percy Jackson series of books. Basically, Ageless hunter maidens that are blessed by Artemis, the Greek Goddess of the Hunt.

I always thought the idea was pretty cool.... so..... Here we are.

I am trying to branch out and build something other than a power-suit.

Thunderbirds.... Yeah.. that movie sucked. I am still planning on returning to do the T-Bird suits, but right now, I am starting to finalize the stuff I need to start a new campaign. Once it gets started, I will go back and flesh out the suits.
I think TB2 is going to be more of a Mecha than a suit though.

This is an idea spawned from my groups forth-coming campaign/game. We are borrowing a page from the Percy Jackson novels and creating a team of characters that are "demi-gods". We are taking it one step further and crafting them after the "Big Three"... Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.

My character is going to be the child of Hades. As I was wanting to FINALLY play the Horseman character, I started prepping him. The other day, I had a flash of inspiration.... well.. either that or I shined my flashlight in my own face. ... Anyway....

I thought that if my character was to be a child of Hades, then I might craft an image that follows form a little more. I saw a woman walking a dog and <pop> the idea was there. Cerberus!!...

The armor is the base Horseman armor and after about 45 minutes of photoshopping... I was able to come up with the character above. The heads are borrowed from a picture I found on the web. The original artist of the Cerberus picture is RaineShadow0025 on Deviantart.com

"special" and now he has the tools and the knowledge to live up to his potential.

Relationship_Family: Carter has a a step-brother, Gabriel who he gets along with, but does not talk to
very often. Gabriel lived in the shadow of Carter and acted out in school. He does not attend many
functions, but a trust fund set up by their father provides him with a very comfortable life.
Carter's father Alexander, and his step-mother, Jessica, live in New York City in a penthouse suite. They
spend most of their lives traveling the world.

Secret: Secret Identity: Carter Hargrieves, Owner of Hargrieves Imports. An international company that imports and exports technology and other materials. The company was founded by Carter's father when
Carter was young. Carter would eventually take over the business when his father retired.
Secret: Carter is the child of Athena. He only knew that his mother had left shortly after his birth and his
father had raised him while he was growing up. Carter's father would eventually remarry and Carter
called her "mom", but he knew she was not his 'real' mother. Carter has a keen mind and a
photographic memory. He easily can master battle field tactics. He designed his battlesuit, to provide the
upmost in battlefield felxibility.

This is a character concept that has developed over a period of time. Ironically enough, this idea developed from an Iron Man-esque build that I made.
In our current campaign, the characters are all the children of one of the Greek gods. (Heavily influenced by the Percy Jackson series... although not the same setting) This character (mine) is the child of Athena, while we also have a son of Zeus, a son of Poseidon and a son of Hephaestus.

It is loosely based on the Green Lantern power-set, with some tweaks hear and there. A big tweak is to remove the space flight ability. I also want to play with the 'Force Constructs' a little. I can see him calling forth a energy centurion to aid in battle.

I built it around the premise that Athena is known by multiple different names and was thought to be in the fore-front of battle.. HOWEVER... she uses her intelligence to fight a battle, unlike her brother Ares, who is more about brute strength and blood-shed. Athena is also credited with battle strategy and invention. The ring is based on Intelligence rather than Willpower. The wearer focuses on an item and "thinks" the item into existence. His 'force field' looks like a suit of Spartan Armor. The wearer can shoot blasts of energy and such.

The Athenian Ring of Crafting is bestowed upon a mortal who is favored by the god. The ring produces a costume of Celestial Bronze that provides protection and life-support functions. The ring also gives the wearer the ability to wield a small fraction of the power of 'creation' that is powered from the the heart of Olympus.

Stephanie "Red" Lazar is the latest in a long line of women that have been cursed with a unique illness... mystical-lycanthrope. It is an illness that originated in a small village in French Village in the 15th Century.
In France between 1520 and 1630, it is estimated that approximately 30,000 people were identified as werewolves. These "werewolves" were subjugated to horrific interrogation / torture. Whether they confess or not, most of them died at the stake. During these "Werewolf Trials", Stephanie's ancestor was a judge that ruled over the trials. He was responsible for condemning many innocent people to their deaths. One of these victim's mother was a witch. As she watched her son burn to death, she cursed his wife with the same mallody that he had accused all the innocent people of. Eventually, he was forced to have his wife put to death. The witch went further to curse ALL the women of his bloodline.
This form of lycanthrope is mystical in nature and passes to the females of the bloodline when they reach puberty. Because this lycanthrope is mystically "targeted" to their bloodline, it cannot be passed to others through their bite.

Stephanie's family was wealthy and their money enabled the family secret to remain buried. She had private tutors and she enjoyed a protected life. She eventually started feeling that she was trapped in her life so one night, she slipped away. She now travels the world enjoying her life. Her wolfen-abilites have saved her on more than one occasion. She now embraces her abilities and uses them to help other people... She has now assumed the title of protector.

I was discussing the build for Spartan and the fact that there is a rather complex build of arrays and options.. I was hoping that I could reach out to the members of the ATT and get some feedback.

It IS a complex build and maybe I crammed too much into it... Let me know what you think.

After completing my build for Spartan....

I was looking at expanding my character log and a silly little idea popped into my head.

While researching Athena, I read about how Ares is considered the embodiment of the rage and blood-shedding on the field of battle. Where Athena is the embodiment of strategy and using the mind to win battles. Ares is the embodiment of the violent aspects of war.

Also added to the mix is the new Green Lantern Animated series, which I just started watching. This series started me thinking of the different rings....

I thought of Ares having his own ringed warriors.... Hmmm.... Sound familiar?

After completing my Athenian Guardian (AG) build... I started thinking about a possible foil for the character. I did not want to create a direct "arch-nemesis" for the character, but instead wanted to play with a more subtle concept. The Warriors of Ares (WoA) are not exactly allies of the Athenian Guardians...bu they are also not their enemies. They are both derived from the gods.. but where the AG's are more of a thinking and plotting force... the WoA's are more of an in-your-face combat group. The rings are virtually identical with a few exceptions.
There are three 'new' powers that the WoA have that the AG do not.
1) Awareness: Aggression (Visual). This power literally allows the WoA to see the aggression levels in their opponents. They see it as a glowing reddish-orange aura around the person. The more aggression... the brighter the aura.
2) Regeneration: Regeneration 2 (Every 5 rounds) This is the classic power for the WoA to heal themselves in battle. The catch comes in the fact that there is a limiter on the power. Even though the power is bought at level 10... the limiter sets the level equal to the amount of damage the WoA was able to inflict the previous turn. Tied directly to this power is the third power.
3) The ring also as a tied in power: Feeding on the Blood: Energy Absorption 8 (Absorbs: Pain energy (amount of wounds inflicted), Boost: Regeneration) This power is how the WoA are able to 'feed' on the damage inflicted in the previous turn and use that 'blood energy' to heal themselves. SO... Regeneration starts at level 2, but with inflicting pain / drawing blood... the WoA can heal themselves much more quickly.

With the powers of the two rings almost the same... I see these characters bumping heads and possibly becoming enemies mostly due to ideologies as to how to wage war and to what extreme conflict should be taken.

In combat, the WoA are typically an "in-your-face" group. They often charge in and start attacking. This is not to say that they never plan things out... they just don't give their plans much thought.

They will swoop in and attack in a brutal fashion... not stopping until their enemy / target is destroyed. As the WoA inflict pain and suffering, they are actually able to heal themselves. This again spurns the WoA into combat rapidly. The sooner they are inflicting pain and spilling blood... the sooner they can heal.

As they are the creation of Ares, they are technically, "cousins" to the Athenian Guardians. They can work together but more often than not, they end up butting heads. The WoA will invariably want to charge into conflict, while the AG's will invariably want to plan things out. Both are sides of the same coin. This has led to several 'heated' encounters in the past.
