Comments: I really liked Man-Bat as a kid. He was the first villain I ever saw Batman fight in the 70's with that rockin’ Neal Adams art.

In the Thorpacoverse, he is pretty much as he is in canon. Langstrom tries to avoid taking the serum, but his urges often overtake him and the Man-Bat flies again. Although, he is getting better about remaining in control and is sometimes an ally of the Bat family.

As Scott Snyder is weaving his wonderful Court of Owls story in Batman he introduces a character named Lincoln March, who is running for Mayor. Bruce meets him, and finds out that they share a similar history in that March also lost his parents as a child and was raised in an orphanage. Bruce throws his support behind March as they both seem to have similar goals to revitalize Gotham.

During the Night of the Owls, Batman fails to save March who falls to a Talon. Bruce declares that he will avenge him and of course, since he’s Batman, he pretty much takes out the Court but realizes there is a missing piece to the puzzle. As he tries to wrap things up, he runs into March later and finds out he was part of the Court all along and had managed to take the same elixir that the Talons did that allowed him to be revived. So they fight.

And that’s all I’m saying, I’ve spoiled enough. All I will say is that March claims to be more than just a regular orphan with issues that wants it all, and gives Bruce a great fight to end the arc. With a small sample, it’s hard to tell exactly what all his abilities are, so I’m sure this will change when he shows up again, and I am pretty sure he will.

Comments: I was almost OK with using the DCA Ra’s for my setting, but I couldn’t help myself, I thought he was just a tad overpowered, too, plus, I like to refine a couple of things that were not done in the core build. My Ra’s has his cash noted, a limit on his equipment but he’s still a scary swordsman and a manipulator of the highest order that can be a major pain for the Bat Family or even a group like the Justice League, given the right usage of resources.
