Real Name: Erik Moore
Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 178 lbs
Hair: Black with red streaks
Eye Color: Brown
Complications:
Responsibility ~Family: Erik’s brother, Rick, is his only remaining family and Erik makes sure that Rick takes time away from the labs and tries to relax a bit and enjoy life as well as make sure he eats regular as well (as Rick tends to forget as he gets wrapped up in his work).
Responsibility ~Business: Thanks to his work in the world of extreme sports Erik has a small business to run that he must deal with from time to time (meetings with sponsors, public appearances and such).
Thrills: Erik is always looking for some new trick to pull, place to skate before anyone else, break some record somehow. He loves the rush he gets taking chances.
Background: In his early teen years Erik Moore became one of the more well known skateboarding celebrities who was part of the X-Games and other extreme sport channels. Thanks to the investment talents of his father, Erik was able to maintain a good portion of the money he made and increase it considerably. Meanwhile his younger brother, Rick, was starting to become recognized as a gifted genius who was able to go to some of the best schools, mostly thanks to the money Erik was bringing in. Their life was one of upper-middle class, wanting for nothing and having several of the extras in life that made it very enjoyable.
That came to an end when Erik and Rick’s parents were killed in a car crash, though thanks to Erik’s lawyer and his financial situation he was able to get himself declared an emancipated minor at seventeen and took custody of his brother. Though they missed their parents deeply the boys were able to move on with their lives; Erik continuing his skateboarding career and Rick focusing on his studies at MIT. A couple years later Rick graduated with another degree in his third scientific field and decided to take a break from school for a couple years. Erik decided to add on a full sized lab to his home for his brother to work out of as the mood struck him.
Their lives would have continued on in this manner, with Rick usually holed up in his lab and Erik working his mini skate park to keep in shape for his next show when life threw them another curve. At one of Erik’s skate demos a small group of bank robbers tried escaping from the police by cutting through the series of ramps and rails the skaters were using when Erik, using the only thing he had on hand (his skateboard), stopped a pair of them coming off the ramp and on top of them then chasing after the remaining thieves on his own.
For his efforts Erik was praised by local police as well as his fans, given several accommodations by the city for what he did. During all the interviews on the talk shows, radio shows, press conferences Erik realized that he’d felt a thrill like no other he’d experienced. Soon he was talking with Rick about possible ways to build a hi-tech version of a skateboard as well as a couple other items he thought might be useful in what he was planning to do. For his part, Rick was intrigued by the idea of pushing the boundaries of several areas of science and agreed to work something up for some testing. After months of trials and errors Rick was able to develop a working overboard that Erik started training with as well as developing several gadgets, including a set of sunglasses that held several optic enhancements and miniaturization of common items used everyday.
Almost a full year later Erik has mastered the McFly, as he’d named the hoverboard, even though it had to be repaired or rebuilt a couple of times as well as becoming competent with a couple other items Rick had worked up over that time. Soon Erik was out on the city streets, pursuing his new passion: fighting crime. Though Erik hadn’t thought it all out, he never bothered to wear a mask of any kind, becoming a public hero which has helped to increase his personal celebrity status as a result.
Currently Erik, calling himself Flipkick after the first trick he’d done on the McFly (at a few miles above the city no less), now splits his time between skate shows for his sponsors and fighting crime in Bay City where he and Rick have recently moved. He’s making something of a name for himself among the teenage crowd and has even worked with Johnny Rocket a time or two as well, who thinks Erik has some decent potential and has spent some time helping him to learn the ropes so to speak in the hero business.
