Wunderkind Sean Tennyson; internet millionaire and adrenaline junkie. After selling off his website company for several million Sean became interested in hobbies only the idle rich and suicidal indulge in. Always looking for the next more thrilling rush. Each stunt more dangerous then the last.
Sean was inspired to become a costumed superhero not do to some dark event in his life or some feeling of responsibility. No, Sean was finally bored with "mundane" adventures like mountain climbing, freebase jumping etc. So he paid for the best training money can buy and became "proficient" in Ninjutsu, clad himslef in a Ninja Gi and set off to fight crime. It did not go well....In his first outing he encountered tried to stop a break-in a United Petroleum Plant and was ousted by thugs into a vat of chemicals. Instead of dying, Sean's body became the consistency of stretchable rubber. Using his new powers he caught up with the thugs and using his training in combination with his pliant form he was able to beat the snot out of the thugs but the mastermind behind the break in got away.
(Re)naming himself "Tension" NinjaStorm didn't seem appropriate anymore. ;) Sean's next step was to make a large contribution to the Olympia Foundation to gain membership to the Guardians. Figuring joining a soon-to-be prestigious supergroup would give him the Hero Cred he needed to make it in the Big Leagues.

I like Tension. He's a fresh take on the stretchy super while also incorporating classic elements. :)

History

Richard O’Shea was born the son of Irish Immigrants in the “Little Belfast” area of the Bronx known as Bainbridge. However during the downturn in the US economy the O’Sheas, as well as many other Irish families were forced to move to Germany (whose reunification process coincided with the American recession).

His late teens in Germany were a series of semi-successful Criminal Enterprises; becoming something of Robin Hood type, robbing from Smugglers and other Criminals and giving to the Poor. By the time he was an adult he had achieved some notoriety, even garnering the attention of the Crimson Council; whom he had inadvertently crossed during one of his cons.

It was the Council who gave O’Shea his powers , kidnapping Rick and putting him through a series of weird experiments. Rick found that he could repulse any matter or energy that entered his Kirlian Aura and send it back to its source. Through practice he even learned to reflect things at different angles to different targets.
After being brain-washed by the Council he was given the name Ricochet and was set-up to be the Crimson Council's latest Super-Villain.

That was until he fell in love.

Victoria Lenz was a double agent working for S.T.O.R.M. and had successfully infiltrated The Crimson Council as an Agent. She and Rick developed a relationship and it was Vickie who began to show Rick the truth about the Council. When they discovered her duplicity they ordered Ricochet to kill her. He refused and overcame his Brainwahing and attempted to escape, with Vicki, to America. However as skilled as he was, Rick couldn’t protect her from the hail of bullets that rebounded off of his repulsion field. Vicki died helping Rick escape and he has sworn to make the Crimson Council pay.

One such Demon; a fickle body jumper whose name shall not be spoken aloud, was trying to create some havoc at ASTROLabs.
While trying to possess a scientist the Demon passed through his creation; an android whose positronic matrix happened to be
very similiar to the pattern of a Binding Circle. So much so The Demon became trapped in the android's form.
He also found that not only was he bound by the robotic body, but by its programming.
"Serve and Protect Man."

So the Demon waited; fulfilling its body's Prime Directives while scheming to free itself and wreak vengeance!
But it found itself more and more fusing with the android AI and becoming something else altogether...a hero.

Derek Hearst was a veterinarian who worked for the state gambling commission. His job was to make sure various animals were drug-free before competing in races at the track.
