I figured as much, but I was hoping for a loophole.

Complications
Disability: The High Evolutionary has had extensive genetic modifications and emotional manipulations. Sometimes he's a bit unstable.
Obsession: The High Evolutionary is obsessed with evolution and creating perfect life forms.
Reputation: Sometimes he's noble creator and benefactor, sometimes he's a manical mad scientist, sometimes he's a detached observer, dude shifts around so much that nobody trusts him.
Responsibility: The High Evolutionary is the creator and leader of the New-Men and of Counter-Earth.

Herbert Wyndham was a genetics student in the early 20th Century studying the works of Nathaniel "Mr. Sinister" Essex. Obviously, he was quickly thrown out of Oxford for his crazy ideas. He decided to move to Mount Wundagore to pursue his experiments. Eventually he evolved himself to to the point that there are cosmic entities who look up to his intellect and started calling himself the High Evolutionary. From there he created several races of new people and an entire planet. Yeah, he's PL 16 and super duper ridiculously over cost. The High Evolutionary hits his caps with his extensive knowledge of science (genetics, chemistry, engineering, the whole thing), technology, and medicine. His special evolution/devolution rays and his fancy armor also get him up to caps. Besides that he also found vast mental powers by evolving his mind which grants a huge dynamic array with a bunch of effects that make him a PL 14 combatant to match his PL 14 saves. The High Evolutionary is all over the place alignment wise and he's responsible for the birth, creation, or education of such Marvel Mainstays as Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Man Beast, Spider-Woman, and the Jackal.

Thanks Gaz. I likes me some High Evolutionary. Poor guy tried suicide by Hulk and that didn't work, so he's gone back to being an occasional pain in the buttocks to the whole MU.

Of course he's obviously performed some hideous experiments on himself. How else would you explain those proportions in that picture.

Cool High Evolutionary! Should his high strength score come from his suit? I know he also grew to giant size once but that could be a power stunt. Nice job.

You're welcome. Yep, smashed down to protoplasmic goo and he still comes back. I'd call that part of his Disability.

I'm not that big a fan of the art for that picture, but I did like that it pictures Herb with some of his experiment creatures acting the imperious lord of Wundagore.

Thanks, scc! I honestly wasn't sure if his strength was the result of his experimentation (which I know gave him a super-human stamina rating) or his suit. It seemed simpler just to say he's got some super-strength. There's still room to caps if he wants to stunt Growth for the higher stength.

I think that covers most of the Fantastic Four classic rogues. On to the next thing! Filling in the Avengers I missed the first go-round. Let's see. I need:

She-Hulk
Wonder Man
Vision
War Machine
Tigra
Captain Marvel/Photon/Pulsar
Black Knight
Jack-of-Hearts
Jessica Jones (Jewel)
Machine Man
Triathlon
Hellcat
Sersei
and *sigh* Sentry

Am I missing anybody important? (Don't say Dr. Druid) Nova and Quasar are going with cosmic, Valkyrie is going with magic, and Bucky is going as Winter Soldier in streets.

Power Points
Abilities 98 + Powers 50 + Advantages 7 + Skills 25 (50 ranks) + Defenses 15 = 195

Complications
Enemy: Titania, ever since the Secret War.
Motivation: Thrills: The Sensational She-Hulk represents on the confidence and excitement that mousy Jennifer Walters lacks.
Power Loss: She-Hulk can choose to or be forced to return to the normal human form of Jennifer Walters.
Responsibility: Jen is a high powered attorney and an Avenger, she has responsiblities to the law and to world saving heroics.

I loves me my segues and transitions, so here we have a recurring member of the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters was Bruce Banner's meek and mousy cousin, daughter of Sheriff Morris Walters. When a crime lord her father crossed shot her, Bruce gave her a blood transfusion to save her life. Since then, Jen has been the Sensational She-Hulk. The glamazon has the lower levels of Hulk strength and the combat training to get to PL 12 caps. She-Hulk is of slighter build and lacks Hulk's crazy rage boosts so her regeneration, leaping, and immunities aren't quite as impressive. To make up for that Jen gets to retain her intellect and actually ups her Presence as She-Hulk, so she's over cost for her PL. Still those points pay for a nice set of legal and people skills in addition to a PL 12 powerhouse so its fair.

Complications
Fame: Simon Williams is an Avenger and a Hollywood actor with glowing red eyes and a star on the Walk of Fame. People know him.
Motivation: Doing Good: Simon used to be weapons maker and an embezzaler who was tricked into aiding the Masters of Evil. He wants to make up for that.
Relationship: Simon loved the Scarlet Witch, and more recently, Ms. Marvel. He's also got a bromance with the Beast and an actual brother in the evil Grim Reaper.
Rivalry: Wonder Man has a rivalry with the Vision, an android programmed with his brain waves.
Weakness: As an ionic energy being, Simon is susceptible to attacks that disrupt or disperse his unique energy pattern.

Simon Williams was the younger, nerdier son of munitions industrialist Sanford Williams. He inherited control of Williams Innovations when his brother ran off to pursue crime and his pops died. Simon was inexperienced and started quickly losing out to Stark Industries. Simon turned desperate and began embezzling company funds to invest in his brother Eric's criminal ventures. He got sent to jail and then turned into a being of ionic energy by the Masters of Evil. After dying and coming back, he found a place on the Avengers. Wonder Man is one of the Avenger's power players, a nearly invulnerable energy being almost as strong as Thor. He rates as a PL 13 PC, hitting caps on offense and defense thanks more to his beastly power level than his skill. Still, Simon has some skill as he's been a stunt man in addition to a famous actor. The remained of the points from his paragon power set give him some solid people skills on top of the tech savvy he gained when young.

Unarmed, +8 (DC 31)

Defense
Dodge 8, Parry 8, Fortitude 10, Toughness 16, Will 10

Power Points
Abilities 82 + Powers 79 + Advantages 3 + Skills 17 (34 ranks) + Defenses 14 = 195

Complications
Enemy: Vision made an enemy of his creator, Ultron when he rebelled.
Power Loss: Vision runs on solar energy. Depriving him of it will result in systems failure and shutdown.
Prejudice: People think of Vision as just a machine, when he is really a person.
Relationship: Vision has a long term and very complicated relationship with Scarlet Witch.

The vision was created by Ultron from the body of the original Human Torch and the brain waves of Wonder Man with the intent of defeating Ultron's creator, Hank Pym. Vision almost immediately rebelled and joined Pym's team, the Avengers. One important note about Vision, is that he's not a robot. He's a synthezoid, an artificial man with internal systems that make him every bit as complex and complete as a biological human. Thus a Stamina score. Its a high one because those artificial bits are quite durable. Vision can ramp up his durability by using his special density control power. By increasing his mass, Vision hits his PL 12 caps with Strength and Toughness. If that's not enough he can pull in even more mass to the point where even Vision can't move himself. The distracting aspect of his super high density setting allows for an even bigger Toughness shift than he normally has and make Vision almost impossible to move or to damage. The alternate effect of high density is such low density that Vision becomes intangible and floats through the air as well as interposing objects. He also comes with a heat ray and hologram projector. The addition of deceased scientist Alex Lipton's brain waves also make Vision a scientific genius. I'm not even going into his relationship with Wanda Maximoff.

Complications
Relationship: Rhodey is good friends with Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. He also dearly loves his mother.
Responsibility: Rhodey always has demands on his time from the Marine Corps, or Stark Industries, or the Office of National Emergency, the Initiative, or the Avengers.

James "Rhodey" Rhodes was a US Marine Corps pilot who first met Tony Stark while flying combat mission in Vietnam. After saving Stark's life, Rhodey was offered a job as his personal pilot. This led to a long time friendship and eventually the gifting of the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit. This War Machine armor isn't quite as fancy as Iron Man's suit. It's got the sensor array and the coms package and whatnot, but its slower and packs less powerful repulsor tech. Only PL 12 instead of 13. War Machine makes up for this by packing all of the weapons. All of them. Cannons, miniguns, flamethrowers, missile pods, even an energy blade, everything. And Rhodey knows how to use it all. He's a trained marine with combat experience so he gets Military Expertise, naturally high close and ranged combat scores, and bunch of combat Advantages Iron Man lacks. This has the interesting side effect of making the armor cheaper for War Machine, since some of what Tony gets by being Iron Man, Rhodey already has. He's still over cost, though.

Nice stuff, as always. Every time I see your builds of the more-complicated guys, I have to go back and check my builds to see if I got all that :). I was like "OCRAP did I give High Evolutionary a Devolution Attack IDID OHGOOD."

Which of the like, eight different Black Knight power-sets will you be building :)? Dude goes through an interminable number of changes that the next writer just completely forgets. His sword is either a Laser, a Sword, a Demonically-Powered Hellsword or an Angelic Uber-Goodness Sword. Sometimes he has a flying horse, sometimes it's a jetbike. Sometimes he even wears a BOMBER JACKET over his Knightly Armour!

Thanks, Jab! I usually check out your stuff when I'm doing a build too.

When I get to Dane, he will definitely not be wearing a leather jacket. I was originally planning on giving him the Ebony Blade, but now I'm thinking he'll have a series of alternate devices including that, his photon blade, and the Sword of Light. Still not sure on Aragorn vs Strider, but he won't be riding a robo-steed.

Enemy: Tigra hates Kraven the Hunter for enslaving her and Jigsaw and the Hood for brutalizing her.
Relationship: Greer loves her son, William. She also has a thing for his sort-of father, Hank Pym.
Responsibility: Greer is a licensed officer of the law and a trainer for the Initiative or Avengers Academy.

Greer Grant was a college science student when she met and married policeman Bill Nelson. After he was shot, Greer Nelson went to work as a lab assistant for her old professor, who gave her super powers as the Cat. After some adventures as the Cat, Greer was magically transformed into Tigra, ancient protector of the Cat People. Greer actually prefers being Tigra, and will only appear human if she has to. Tigra is a well rounded PL 9, hitting all of her caps and perfectly balanced in melee attacks and saves. Her mystical transformation provides Greer with any number of catlike powers including fur, claws, a healing factor, and animal senses. An alternative of the physical senses is the ability to sense the emotional state of people. Though Greer has never been very powerful, she has been a superhero for a very long. Despite her low PL, Tigra is a veteran crime fighter with many skills, capable of training young heroes and winding up over cost.

Nice Avengers builds Gaz. Now while, it's arguable that these are not critical Avengers builds, I'm not certain you have this quartet on your list, though they have served with the Avengers in one incarnation or another.

D-man- Yes, Demolition man, former super powered wrestler, with one of the worst costumes ever, but he became an Avenger in the Captain America comic and Busiek and Perez remembered it for the opening storyline of their run.

Human Torch (Jim Hammond)- You might simply be able to change the name on the Johnny Storm versiona and change out some of the skills, but the original Human Torch was a member of the Avengers, West Coast during Byrne's run on the book.

The Swordsman- Much like his protege', Hawkeye, the villain Swordsman reformed and went 'legit' as a member of the team during the Celestial Madonna flustercuck. Sure, he was killed by Kang, but I've always had a soft spot for hard luck heroes.

Songbird- Okay, she only appeared as a team member in Avengers Forever!, but since I loved that mini-series, I'll ask for her anyway. I honestly haven't checked your character list, so you might have already statted her up for all I know.

Dr.Druid, Dr. Druid, Dr. Druid, Dr. Druid, Dr. Druid, Dr. Druid
