Hey, Mon-El. Thanks for the compliment and the constructive criticism. I really did think about having the absorption linked to enhanced light projection. It makes sense for Bishop or Shaw because they directly turn attacks back to the extent that they were hit first. Although she can't be harmed by sonic descriptors, Dazzler isn't dependent on being attacked first, background noise can activate her powers. There doesn't have to a damage or dazzle effect as long as there is ambient sound. And then she can store the energy for long term use. Its up to the GM to say when Allison doesn't have enough juice in sound or storage. And then give her a hero point for her Pump Up the Volume! complication.

Gonna go completely off the rails and ditch the program for a minute.

Having recently finished Skyrim, I wanted to do my player character in Mutants and Masterminds. I often go for ranger types in RPGs and I never choose the native race for my first play through of an Elder Scrolls game. So this is what I figure my Imperial looked near the end game.

Okay. You know how Norrin Radd is a scientist and philosopher who can use the Power Cosmic in infinite ways? Pyreus Kril is the other kind of herald. He's angry, obsessive, and prideful with a focus on fire. He was a member of the Xandarian Nova Corps when a teleport beam jacked his captain. So he followed the guy across the universe in a commandeered ship. Then he stood up to Galactus for the sake of the missing captain (now an ex-herald) and got a job. That job was as PL 14 cosmic fire guy. A burning aura gets his defense to level but unless Firelord focuses his power through his staff, he only hits attack caps with his area gouts and dazzles. The cosmic fire constantly wreathing him also gives him a PL melee attack in addition to defensive powers. Firelord has a space cop training, cosmic power, and a cool weapon to fly through space with. But he still lost a fight to Spider-Man.

Gabriel Lan was a space captain on the Xandarian Nova Corps ship "Way-Opener" when Galactus kidnapped him. Big G decided that Little G would be a suitable herald and Lan decided that destroying entire civilizations was a far price for zipping around the cosmos under his own power. So we get the second (and lamest) of the Heralds of Galactus. Dude survived like a grand total of one mission before he was shot down and destroyed. So Galactus transferred his consciousness into a perfect android replica. That replica is the iconic PL 13 Air-Walker. Obviously the Power Cosmic is the cap hitting power and Air-Walker's spin on it is electromagnetism and air control. So far he's the only herald who doesn't get a neat toy like a surfboard, axe, or baton and his cosmic level EM blasts don't have a visible manifestation like gouts of flame or glowing eyes or whatever. Air-Walker's advanced android body is highly armored enough to hit dodge caps and can repair itself slowly but surely. That's good because the weakest herald has been destroyed like a dozen times already.

Frankie Raye started off like many comic characters, the step daughter of an existing character hiding from the public. This guy had built the original Human Torch and accidentally gave similar powers to his step kid. Then hypnotized her to forget that and fear fire. So she naturally starts dating the FF Torch and then starts calling herself Human Torch. Johnny will later introduce her to Galactus and Frankie runs off with the big guy as a new herald. So now she starts calling herself Nova and getting populated worlds ate. That's where this build comes in. As Nova, Frankie had power equal to love interest, the Silver Surfer, but was less adept at wielding them. So she has fewer alt powers and less accuracy. Nova is PL 14 with a ranged, area, and melee attack. Her dodge defense also hits caps. Aside from the powers, Frankie barely knows enough cosmology to do her job well and the whole scene is new to her. Her earth job was as a UN translator so she actually knows some languages in addition to be able communicate with every intelligent being in the universe. The Silver Surfer and Galactus actually rivaled for her affections at one point.

Nice Heralds so far. These guys are tricky until you build a few, and you've done a fine job so far. Determining their PLs, when they seem to be near-equal to Thor, who is often barely stronger than a standard Marvel Top-Tier like Wonder Man, can be tough, but I think PL 14-15 about covers it.

Reputation: Herald of Galactus is a bad rep of cosmic proportions.

Eventually Galactus figured out that taking the strongest and most noble souls for his herald was problematic. They kept sparing inhabited planets or trying to do their own thing. After Nova, he decided that he would take a properly deferential and qualm-less being to guide him to snack time. That being was Morg, a traitorous executioner. Morg promptly beat up the Silver Surfer and gained even more power than Galactus gave him. That's PL 16 power. He hits caps with his melee attack and defense. That attack can slice through almost anything because his axe also got cosmically empowered. That and the standard herald powers are really all this guy has going for him. No skills besides being really scary and almost no advantages besides being scary and axey. Morg is high level but a really simple soul. He just likes chopping stuff and he can do it well enough to fight like 5 other heralds.

Oh God! I am so sorry I trash talked Air Walker earlier. This epic loser is clearly the worst Herald. Red Shift doesn't even have a backstory! He's maybe a Korbinite (like Beta Ray Bill) and that's all we know of his life before being imbued with the Power Cosmic. Imbued is being used lightly. The basic Herald powers are all he has. The rest is his swords. I assume he can use the things, so he hits caps with a melee attack and defense. He gets a few sword fighting advantages and the ability to slice open a hole through space. Which is kinda cool. Except that instead of trapping the Silver Surfer, he got stuck in black hole himself for like a decade. Lame.

Responsibility: Stardust actually likes being a Herald and wants to serve Galactus to the best of its abilities.

The Ethereal Lambda-Zero is the big G's newest sidekick. He/she/it is totally into the whole thing. It will kill beings trying to escape the death of their planet for the crime of not going willingly unto Galactus. It won't even stand for lesser creatures messing with other heralds. Galactus has apparently decided this is good work, so Stardust has received the Power Cosmic at a level equal to the Silver Surfer. PL 15 cosmic force, matter manipulations, and rending space is pretty powerful stuff. Unfortunately, that blast is the only way for Stardust to hit its caps. It lacks the defense necessary, but that's okay because Lambda-Zero's people are made of energy (rank 3 insubstantial) add in the herald enhancements and Stardust can pull itself back together from complete bodily destruction. That and a cosmic halberd are pretty hardcore.

I'm really enjoying the Heralds of Galactus profiles, Gaz!

As always, you have a great understanding of the characters and translate that into great builds!

I agree with you that Stardust is Silver Surfer-level in the Power Cosmic. One of the few times that Galactus embued a Herald to this level, and perhaps the first since the Surfer. But unlike the Surfer (and some other previous Heralds), Stardust had some power before the transformation, making it really powerful now!

Again, another fantastic pic! I love that we get to see the additional eyes, hands/arms of Stardust! This character fascinates me even though I only know alittle about it!

I actually had no idea Galactus had this many heralds before I started doing these builds. No idea who Red Shift, Stardust, or The Fallen One were until I started researching them. Never mind there's also the Destroyer, Dazzler, Johny Storm, and Deadpool (all of whom have or will get non-herald builds). But Stardust is a nifty one. I like the "out there"ness of the character.

Reputation: Herald of Galactus is a bad rep of cosmic proportions. This is the guy who started the trend.
Rivalry: All the later heralds.

The Fallen One was retconned in as the first herald of Galactus, eons prior to Norrin's chrome job. He's different because instead of The Power Cosmic, his limitless energy source was dark matter! Which makes very little difference buildwise, because he still has all the regular herald powers. Just with slightly different descriptors. His dark powers let him hit harder than even the Surfer or Stardust, but he lacks their control (and will defenses) so he's still "only" PL 15. Dude is really strong, tough and angry with the all-out/power attack stuff and hits caps with his melee defense in addition to his dark energy attacks. He knows even more about the universe than Norrin because he's been all around for a loooooong time, kinda doing terrorist style attacks against the Big G. Until Thanos knocked him out and then he got killed by some gods. The end of FO and of the heralds!

Locked
