If I have 'Drain all traits at rank 5', and I target a person who has some of the following sorts of items (the list of things most likely to get confusing):
- Skills at rank 6
- 7 normal feats total.
- A 3 pp/rank power at rank 7.
- A 3 pp/rank power at rank 7 with 6 power feats
- A 1 pp/rank at rank 4 with 3 power feats.
- Str 8, Dex 10, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 16, Cha 18
- A 6 pp/rank powe
What happens to each of these items?
My assumptions:
- Skills are 4 ranks/point, so they are all now rank -14, or 0.
- feats are 1pp/rank, so they are all gone.
- A 3 pp/rank power loses 1 2/3 ranks and is now rank 6 (round in victims favor). I can hit it again next round to get it to have lost 3 1/3 ranks and now be rank 4.
- This one is as above, plus has lost 5 of its power feats? Or all of them as they were just 1 point each, or I just take 5 points from it wherever...?
- This one is now rank -1 (0), and loses all feats. Or, it is rank 0, and loses one feat?
- stats are now Str 3, Dex 5, Con 7, Int 9, Wis 11, Cha 13
- I drain 5 points, or 5/6ths of a rank. The victim can still use it at full power. Next round I drain another 5 points, for 10/6th ranks, the victim can now use it at max-1 ranks. Presuming here we round in victims favor, even when that means they don't have enough to make a full round by a large margin?
Some of these I'm very unclear on...
Also, once we know what happens to each item on that list, if one character had all of that list, I assume that the drain would affect all of the items - essentially taking 5 points from nearly everything on the character sheet, 5 points for each.
I'm working on the notion that I take 5 points from each item based on what it says on drain on page 83 under the 3 points per rank option: "subtracting its ranks in power points from each".
