Impervious Toughness Question

Postby Bookwyrm » Fri Jul 13, 2007 7:55 am

I'm currently running in a PL6 game and have a question about Impervious Toughness.

My character currently has a Con 14, giving him a natural Toughness of +2, and Force Field [Impervious] 4.

Would it be possible for my character to pick up 2 ranks of Impervious Toughness with the Flaw: Limited-Only when Force Field is active?

Thus, when his Force Field is active, he would have a total Impervious Toughness of +6, rather than being limited to Impervious 4.

And if it is possible and Impervious Toughness is 1pp per rank and Limited is a -1 flaw, I assume the cost would be reduced to .5pp per rank or 1pp per 2 ranks. Right?

That's all correct, although "only while force field is active" isn't too much of a Flaw, as such.

I'd be more likely suggest a player take Force Field 4 (Impervious 6), such that, while his Force Field is active, all 6 points of his Toughness save become Impervious, the 4 from Force Field and the 2 from Con. The Impervious benefit has the same duration as the Force Field, but can also be enhanced with extra effort and is part of the Force Field power.

Your milage may vary, however, and your approach is perfectly workable.
