Huntress

Lacy keeps a close eye on the man she spotted in the nearby shadows. Upon seeing him move in the general direction of Warehouse 14, she follows while keeping an eye out for other potential lurkers.

One of the gang members in the cars looks directly at scarecrow. He nods at the other one and gets out of his car. His hair is unkempt and dyed blue on the right side and he has a blue angel on the back of his leather jacket, marking him as a member of the Blue St. Gang. Moving slowly but full of confidence in Scarecrow's direction, he pulls a pistol from his waistband...

Mariotte lets out a chilling laughter and shifts back into the alley, seeking cover. Once out of sight from the other cars, he releases fear gas around him. The gas leeks from the skull he holds and forms a strange, almost imperceptible cloud...

As the gangster enters the alleyway, his nostrils pick up a rather sweet scent. It takes a few moment for the chemicals to reach his cerebral cortex, binding to neuroreceptors. As soon as this happens, the man sees the shadows creeping over the walls, extending black and oily tendrils to the dirty bricks, and pulling the darkness each time higher and higher. A nearby trash can turns into a giant tree, that shoots up in the sky, extending dark and twisted branches. It is then that Mariotte assesses the test subject to be successfully affected by the gas, and steps from behind a container, into the mobster's vision field.

Image

He came to be like a twisted version of himself, stretched, wicked, dire. The slight reflections from his goggles turned into haunted red glows. The scythe he was carrying grew larger and larger, the blade extending and exuding blood and entrails. He gas filter in his mask turned into a pointy tooth filled mouth, dripping a dark goo. As the doctor gave a few steps forward, the man screamed, terrified, holding his hands in front of his face. The warm sensation and the smell of urine from his trousers also shifted into something horrible in his mind. The man looked in shock as his belly started melting away.
Mariotte as simply standing next to the mobster in wet pants, leaning on his scythe, studying the reactions of the man. When the mobster looked up, he saw the undead abomination, lifting the blade, and slashing at him, severing his head from his body, which slumped back, lifeless. And it did, in the real world; the good doctor simply knocked the man in the head with the blunt part of the tool. The man went down on a pile of garbage bags. Hercule secured the man's weapon and wallet, before walking away through the alley, to peek at the warehouse from another corner.

The cars were not that far away to just overhear the most panicked scream the gang member ever made in his life. The remaining gang driver quickly picks up his cell as the other two drivers activate their headsets.

Seconds later, two very distinctive groups, one wearing the same gang symbols as the screamer, the other black suits, leave the ware house. Each group has a more important looking guy carrying a suitcase. They seem to go straight for the cars...

The Fixer

Well...Balls. David thought as he watched whatever was happening in the front of the warehouse. he cracked his neck, cracked his knuckles. He knew it was time to get to work. He decided to run from out of the alley and into the street, he wasn't sure what he was here for but, he knew those Blue St. guys when he saw them, and man, he did not like it.

I figure I might as well jump into the fray and hopefully get this combat started for us. Here's initiative. 1d20+1=6 and of course...

Sunrise
HP: 1 - Condition: Dafuq?

"What the hell just happened down there?!" Sunrise dashed to the edge of the roof and peered over and the chaos below. "Oh... Beating the crap outta guys who ain't looking? Now we're playing my game!"

With a graceful swan-dive, she leaps towards the rear guard.

If we're rolling initiative, Initiative (1d20+4=15)

D-Fens
HP: 1
Condition: Fine/ annoyed

D-Fens looks up from where he was trying to sneak around, in clear sight. A small rag was in hand, already wet with who wants to know what, about to offer a bum quality carwash. Hopefully, gathering more information on who the people were and what they might be doing here. Still, not getting much of a clue other than two briefcases. Hell could be contained in a briefcase, not that we weren't already surrounded by it.

His head perks up, a low grumble in the back of his throat, as he starts to shuffle away, being careful to not offer anyone his back. His other hand goes to the hood of his chainmain lined jacket. He drops the rag back into his pocket, fingering the release of his pistol.

"Man, man, no need for violence, just was gonna give you a carwash.. help an old vet out, willya?" He spooks, "What tha.. what was that man? That sounded like a scream.."

Dr. Mariotte had been spotted and the criminals were fleeing like rats from a sinking ship. But rats are animals with pack mentality, and factor chaos will surely spice things up for the benefit of everyone not involved in drug dealing or organized crime. He lets out a maniacal laughter, to enhance the effect and raising the twisted looking skull he carries, he releases the Fear gas over the mobsters.

OOC: Trying to catch as many mobsters in the 60 ft cloud as possible. Affliction Will DC 16: 1: Entranced 2: Disabled 3: Paralyzed, Cumulative, Instant recovery ,Area Cloud, Concentration, Sense dependant (Olfactory). Affected minions will assume fetal position and remain paralyzed in fear, mumbling and slobbering. I leave the hallucinations to you WD, I had my share of fun already.

Huntress

Lacy was watching her target when she heard the bloodcurdling scream.

That sounded very bad.

she started to head in the direction of the scream when she caught something out of the corner of her eye near the warehouse.

Perception = 1d20+8=25

Something was happening at the warehouse. She saw the men rushing out including two who were holding briefcases, no doubt carrying a lot of cash. Some of them looked like gang members while the others were dressed in nice suits.

Interesting. Could the mob be making deals with local gangs now? she wondered.

Just as she was about to make her move and perforate one of the business suit guys, something else happened. Several of the men fell to the ground screaming. Some others joined the fray including someone leaping down from the warehouse roof.

Initiative = 1d20+6=11

She cautiously made her way from the shadows. She wasn't sure who these newcomers were but they were at least fighting against the gang and the suits. As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Grave Robber
HP: 1; Second Chance: F,E,T
Condition: Falling

Watching the masked man enter the game is puzzling. I've not interacted with many others in my six, going on seven years, and this tactic is far different than my less direct route. I ready for a decent along the warehouse wall, using the out stretched light as a slowing point and then sliding the rest of the way on the metal siding. Looks like another pair of gloves going in the trash tonight. I ready to leave but more people come out of the building, holding brief cases. Too much. Too fast. I need to act or risk being left behind.

My decent is much slower than that of the brave swan from 14. The fact that I hadn't even noticed her until she leapt from her perch is a reminder that I need to stay alert. Perhaps there are more than even those I've seen, comes a thought, answered quickly by the entrance of even more on the ground. (Fixer)

The fall is fine, the jump is good, and I land on the trunk of the car, rolling to the ground. If the driver gets out of the car, I'll slam his head in the door. If he doesn't, I'll have to ask him to get out even less politely..
Move Action: Safefall to the car, leaping at the end to roll off the trunk.
Standard Action: Attacking the driver of the car with the door, description based on their position of inside the car or getting out of the car.
I'm assuming using the door is under the 'improvised weapons' umbrella, so this adds +2 to damage and allows me to use my unarmed attack roll. (improvised weapon 3);
I'll take 10 if its a minion, totaling 16. (so DC17 +any the door would do normally, maybe +1?)

If possible, I'd like to remain stealthy during this. I have hide in plain sight, and there is a lot going on, so if possible to be unobserved by the mobsters, I'd like to maybe, possibly, replace the driver while they're not paying attention.

All but two man in suits and one man with neon blue hair keep standing, the rest falls down gibbering, screaming and ... lets say the lost control over some basic bodily functions.

Still, the few able to act react fast, drawing pistols. While the suits aim at the Scarecrow, the gang member recognizes the Fixer and opens fire at him.
Loud bangs and the smell of gun powder permeate the air, not unusual smells and sounds in NKC.

But this situation is and the still standing criminal seem not be able to lock on their targets, the panic and confusion around them being contagious.

minion fear gas save (will DC 16) (1d20=19, 1d20=11, 1d20=9, 1d20=13, 1d20=13, 1d20=20, 1d20=19)
minion pistol attacks (2x Scarecrow, 1x Fixer) (1d20=9, 1d20=12, 1d20=7) forgot the attack bonus, but this are still misses.

BTW, the Fixer gains a HP for encountering this gang and becoming their main target.

Any changes to the two posts below Screcrow? The divers and suitcase carriers are already out. (I have to remember the effectiveness of area attacks vs low level minions...)

Sunrise
HP: 1 - Condition: Smarmy

The warehouse was getting crowded. Bad enough two new weirdos were taking all the fight out of these guys, but Mia suspected she passed another weirdo on her way down the wall.

As the gunfire raged in front of the warehouse, Sunrise rolled silently into the midst of the remaining goons. She nonchalantly leaned against the back of one hood while pitching a pebble into the back of another's head. "Hey guys, we've gotten some noise complaints. You wanna tone it down?"

Sunrise is Tricking the second gunman to take a shot at her, which will naturally miss and (with her Redirect) hit the confused fellow she's leaning against.

D-Fens
Is there no standard anymore? What it takes, who I am, where I've been Belong You can't be something you're not Be yourself, by yourself Stay away from me

D-Fens let out a lot mutter, growling to himself about ambushes and not so innocent civilians.

Time began to slow down; the musical score began to raise, the gunshots becoming distant booms, the bullets leaving trails as they zinged through the air.

He walked.

His wrist turned, a baton coming to his hand- not intending to use, but having it just in case.

He walked.

The gunmen fell, screaming from their secret sins and their fresh new wounds. The smoke blew around him, disturbed by the bullets. He had no fears, death held only release for him.

He walked.

He twisted, his hand reaching down to grab the brief case.

Edited for timing issues. Re-edited for clarity.
