Well, huge demons stalking the city is one thing - huge IMMORTAL demons would be troublesome - it would attract a strong response ( see also, AEGIS ), but your team doesn't seem bothered by that possibility, so, we'll see how it plays out :wink:

Edit: To that end, DC20 Perception checks for everyone;
Essence:1d20+13=14
Eidolon:1d20+12=18
Willow:1d20+12=13
Tyrannosaur:1d20+10=18
Cheshire:1d20+8=21

The Shoggoths might be mostly immortal (though "kill it with fire" still works) but they will still last only for a scene. In fact, the ritual would include 1 rank of "Trigerred" so they appear at the right time - otherwise, they might get summoned ahead of time and dissipate before the heist is over. The actual ritual should be Sidekick 28 (limit: uncontrollable, triggered 1) for a 15-ep spell for each of them.



EDIT:

Essence is currently in her "essence of utter darkness" aspect, meaning she's fully concealed and incorporeal. She uses a move action as soon as possible to make an active perception check - and gets a result of 22.

If that reveals nothing, she'll use her standard action of that round to actively search too (getting another roll). I suggest you guys also do active perception checks - though Essence can't actually say anything to the team. She's cloaked from all senses so you couldn't hear her if she screamed at the top of her voice right in your ear or notice her if she danced naked before you. (not unless your senses both pierced all concealment and affected insubstantial anyway)

Where is she searching ?

No reason she has to be specifically searching towards a location in order to get perception checks. If someone is sneaking up behind you or in a location you're unlikely to look at you still get that check against their stealth - that they are sneaking up behind you or using unlikely locations and cover is what that stealth check is to begin with.
Besides, a round is several seconds. Someone can do a 360' scan in that time.

In this situation, where has purpose, but nevermind, because Essence doesn't discover anything :wink:

Eidolon's primary goal is to get the inventions made, even to the point that he'll use Extra Effort to power stunt for some Quickness soon. Unless something major happens at the docks, he'll just return and work as planned, keeping his men on high alert and keeping an eye out for whatever Cheshire Cat noticed.

As I previously noted, I'm flying to New Delhi in a handful of hours. If I have free internet access from the airports, I'll be on ATT. If not, I'll get caught up once I get settled into my apartment. I have internet access there so it shouldn't be a problem. Just have Eidolon work on his inventions so that we can proceed with the bank job as planned.

Ditto for Essence - she'll be making the rituals for the job too.

Also, I am traveling back from vacations as well - this Sunday I won't have internet access for at least 12 hours.

Since crafting spells is nearly identical to crafting inventions; wouldn't " Summon " be more appropriate than " Sidekick " ?

just curious - build the spell however you like, as long as it isn't broken.

So, Eidolon is working on his devices, Essence is crafting her spell(s), Willow is taking " me " time, while T-Rex and the Cat are rolling to the club -

After the club scene, I'm moving to the next day, unless RedBstrd, Belial666, or Nine have further posts for their PCs - let me know ...

I have a few ideas I could do for willow. Planting Triggered plants around the city to act as 'bombs'. Causing mayhem and destruction as tree's the size of city blocks erupt about, stuff like that.

We chatted about that - I need a deeper reach - what we discussed wont dissuade the NPC heroes - I need you to be clever in order to win - they have Hero Points and Extra Effort - how would you defeat your OWN PC to ruin the day ? If you aren't clever, you will LOSE

I'm thinking why Villain Games fail - it requires the GM to embrace FAILURE and drive PCs towards VICTORY - can you win ? Do you have that Mantle ? With everything against you, can you grasp Victory from the hand of Defeat ? I wont ignore this aspect - you want to win, SHOW ME YOU CAN.

Edit: There is a powerful NPC hero already on your path ...
