Shifted a few things around to give Scope 1 rank of Agility and some ranks in Expertise (Tactics).

Complications:
Motivation: Making a difference - Allyson has an idealistic goal of making a difference in the world, of somehow tipping the balance of good and evil, peace and war. She has a hard time turning any kind of blind eye to corruption specifically as she feels it is the root that leads to other evils.

Obligations: Allyson Valentine is a fairly popular action movie heroine, and thanks to this popularity, she has some flexibility with her filming schedule, but the life of an actress is a trial in and of itself with traveling to location sets along with having to actually put in time filming.

Bonded: While the magical earring that grants Darklite her powers is indestructible, attacking it while she is not wearing it (Say, hit it with a hammer) will send direct pain to Allyson wherever she is. This is a part of the link that allows her to always know where the earring is. In theory, the earring can be used as a direct link to Allyson herself for certain purposes.

"They're not rainbows!": Allyson is a little touchy about the fact her energy blasts warp light around them, making it seem as though she is projecting rainbows. Favoring the more shadowy and dark approach in her heroic persona, picking fun at her 'rainbow blasts' is a hot button with hero and sure to make her lose her temper in short order.

Background:
The classic story of a young girl from a little country town, dreaming of better things. Making a difference in the world, moving to the big city and becoming famous. This is that same story, but with an odd little twist.

Allyson Valentine grew up in Fawcett city on the outskirts where things weren't so bad before Captain Marvel's and other super heroes influence cleaned up the city. But having grown up witnessing these feats, Allison, who had no powers, wanted to somehow be able to make a difference as well, maybe somehow support the heroes in some way to help them as they help the powerless civilians.

This lead to an interest in journalism and a desire to become a reporter so she could get the stories of these heroes who people really didn't know much about, though of course, she was too young to really understand the reasons for such things.

Well, it as it turned out, Allyson DID have a power. One of a mystical nature that manifested as a result of the celestial conditions around her birth, or put simply, she was born in the right place, at the right time, to the right people. Certain constellations and stars aligned and when Allyson came of age, her power became active, unbeknownst to her.

Her power was the ability to bend the very material of time and space, the re-write reality itself for the cause of granting one, single miracle wish under the light of a shooting star during the night of a full moon. She could have ensured a lifetime of world peace, cures to all diseases on the planet, world hunger and suffering all in one fell swoop. How could she know she had the power to grant a single wish under such specific circumstances?

"I wish I had something that would let me be out there with them, protecting people.."

Allyson was shocked at the sudden light show filling her room as the forces of reality bent and congealed into a single, beautiful earring. Curiosity won out over caution, and the moment she touched it, she was filled it an innate understanding of just what this earring was and why it was created.

The earring was imbued with a splinter of reality, and when worn, would allow Allyson to project blasts of distorted space by absorbing and storing light, both actively and passively. While she did regret that her wish was wasted on this rather than used for something more important, she understood she couldn't have known, and the best way to make up for her unintentionally selfish wish, would be to learn how to use her new powers and become a superheroine and use those powers to make the differences heroes did.

She spent the next years of her life training hard. She took martial arts and even joined a junior police brigade. When she finally donned a costume and cape of her own, she got some notice fairly quickly, operating in Captain Marvel's back yard, so to speak. Seeing that she was still sorely untrained, Captain Marvel pulled some strings (not terribly difficult with that infectious personality of his) to get Allison some training with various other heroes who Allyson idolized when she was younger, and even still.

She found she shared a bond with Black Canary, and though their powers differed, Canary's approach to withholding her powers to use only against super powered or exceptional villains resonated with her, so she adopted that, as well as a certain element of Canary's costume style.

In her private life, Allyson had also studied journalism, after all, she'd dreamed about it for years and even getting powers hadn't diminished her interest for it. However, at some point she was approached to act as an extra in an independent film. She found she had a real talent for acting, and changed her course in career. Today, her name is known among acting circles all over for her various roles in action films primarily, though with a smattering of other parts in TV series and the like.

She learned about the LC Foundation through word of mouth and something about it piqued her interest as something she could do to make a difference like she'd always wanted. Since Fawcett City hardly needed her full time with the likes of the Marvel Family keeping the peace, Allyson volunteered herself and her powers to the Foundation.

One quick tiny little last change to Scope; dropped Prone Fighting and gave him some more equipment to really cement that security force role.

Since most snipers attack from a laying position, prone fighting had made a lot of sense for him.

I know, but it really only helps with/against melee attacks, which he doesn't really need.

Tabitha peeks up from knitting monogrammed team sweaters, a quick blush, before looking back down at her work.

I thought about it on Sat, slept on it, and still had trouble deciding the final roster, but here it is:

* Toby Chestefield (EnigmaticOne) - Self-disowned and unpowered child of supers, now a lawyer.
* Magna (flymarrel) - Reformed magnetic villainess under therapy.
* Harry "Shield" Mackenzie (Arkrite) - Immortal Canadian supersoldier
* Darklite (EPIC) - Young and idealistic superteen
* Dr. Daniel E. Mente - Gifted psychologist with an evil nemesis
* Dr. Milo Whittman (Mechmaster) - Telekinetic physician, survivor from a supervillain attack.

HOWEVER, I'd like to extend an invitation to Spectrum, ecar369 and Jemal to hang out and participate as "guest" stars; only appearing in scenes happening in the Foundation's facilities or specific scenes where their involvement would be interesting; I would not include their characters' backstories in the overall plot as you'd be playing members of the supporting cast (Horsenhero also expressed interest in guesting, so PM me with a character concept if you're still up to it). Gimme a shout if you want to play in this limited way.

I'll be posting the IC thread later. Thanks for applying and looking forward to what you can do with this idea :)
