As far why I'm here.....I'm the Doctor

Now obviously it's up to you, but I'm not sure how well The Doctor would work in this kind of game. My understanding is that there'll be a lot of combat focus and his main advantages (social skills, intelligence, allies, the TARDIS, etc) wouldn't be available or terribly useful. I love the Doctor but I'm just not seeing him working twell in this kind of game. Although...he could be piloting that human robot thing from the season before last...VampGuy wrote:Ok, a rethink occured.
So I'm not holding everyone up, I looked up so already built formulas from MDSnowman and got three options
Richard B Riddick
The Doctor
Hellboy
Not sure which one I wanna use yet, but I dont think any of them are built for 3e, so I will try to convert them to the new system and see which one works.
Ugh. Sorry to hear that. Glad to hear she seems to be doing better.jemal wrote:I've only seen sporadic Who episodes (My lady is a whovian), but on second thought, I would have to agree.
The Riddick, however, fits perfectly.
The whole family ended up spending the last week taking turns being sick, last couple days were baby's turn, and I wanted to devote more attention to the characters than that would allow (I ended up having to hold her in my arms most of last night, the poor thing.).
She seems better today, so will pour through the characters tonight if all remains well.
Cool. Its currently marked as if both ranks of fearless were from Presence with a point paid for Smart. But it should add up correctly.jemal wrote:Hmm.. I'll let you take the first rank of fearless for a presence freebie, but not more..
Actually you know what, How about you take the 'benefit: Smart' as your second free advantage if you wish?
Is the current configuration OK? I was going more for Karnak (of the Inhumans) with poor impulse control scary, rather than powers blow up in face scary. You could add the 'side effect' or 'uncontrollable' flaws to a bunch of it's powers if you want that kind of a beast.. makes it unreliable and dangerous, but the cost discounts would allow you to make it a suitably scary last resort.
I'd call it a magical talent. Anything that hoses magic would certainly hose it and Merlin in general. But he doesn't cast it per se, since its an ongoing sense. Some of the lore around Merlin asserts that, while the infernal half of his parentage gave him a talent for magic, it was being baptized that gave him the gift of prophecy. I'm not sure that I want to root this version of him in a starkly Christian milieu. But I do see his 'super-vision' as essentially prophetic vision, seeing a moment into the future with almost perfect clarity. He can, however, cast a spell to expand that vision over a large area.Alright, so that would effectively give him super-vision. I assume it would be described as some sort of spell?
Real world. And other than being able to shrink a bit to better mimic harmless woodland critters, this particular morph is just cosmetic.jemal wrote:Real world I hope? mythological beasts would be a lot of extra power.voidrazor wrote:Morph: Morph 3 (+20 Deception checks to disguise; Broad group - Animals)
Very cool; added to the spell version.Another thing you could try would be to change the magical awareness to vision based detect magic, so he essentially 'sees' magic.
Sort of. In human form, he has a wide array senses, but essentially all keyed to vision. In dragon form, his enhanced olfactory sense is his primary way of perceiving the world. In cambion form he can detect and analyze weaknesses in objects and people.jemal wrote:Interesting.. so far he has super vision, magical awareness, and super scent?voidrazor wrote:Senses: Senses 4 (Accurate: Choose Sense, Acute: Choose Sense, Analytical: Choose Sense)
Just my two cents, but in my experience on these boards, having a character thats fun to RP is way more important to enjoyment than anything else. Even if the character is primarily a combatant, you want something to play off of other characters and vice versa. That way you don't fall into the trap of "I have nothing to add here." That said, I think a Predator is a cool character to use and assuming there's a universal translator effect in place in the tournament, he could be the "proud warrior race guy" ala Vegeta, Worf, etc. After all, the titular Predator taunted Arnold despite the language barrier and while I hate to mention AvP, that did show Predators working with someone that impressed them.valhalla_bound wrote:On some thought. I may make The Predator. It wont be a ton of RP, but one of his race would really be interested in hunting and killing the most powerful beings in the galaxy. I may have to research the cannon to see about their society and such.
