Dark Fantasy survival horror game(3e OOC)

Post by Neo-Paladin » Sun Mar 30, 2014 3:39 pm

This idea has been cluttering up my head lately and I thought...what the heck, give it a try.

Basic idea would be that all characters live in your fairly typical fantasy kingdom, classic high fantasy stuff - magic, elves, dwarves whathaveyou - until one day, a dark cloud rushes across the land, obscuring everything, plunging the characters into unconsciousness. When they awake again, the land has changed...for the worse.

3e, PL 7, 105 pp.

Been honest whole lot less interested in the suddenly, survival horror bit.

So tell us more about what you're thinking? It sounds a bit like the land of Light has been cast into Shadow and the creatures of Darkness are creeping forth, crawling out from under the rocks and revealing themselves. It is to the heroes to stand fast and help the Light regain its place.

Or I might be completely wrong?

Sorry, to clarify. (Think i replied last time with a lack of sleep)

I like the fantasy genre, and could really go for some Dark Fantasy.

I'm not very interested in the sudden survival horror aspect.

This could be interesting. Just wanting some more detail on this, however.

What's the set-up?

Who are the heroes and what are their role in the world?

Is the objective merely to survive? something more?

I think we'd be willing to take any information you want to give.

That being said, I am tentatively interested!

What's the set-up?

As I said, the heroes are living in a thriving medieval-style kingdom. While there are the usual dangers and not everything is peachy, it looks like there are wondrous times ahead...when, as stated in the beginning, something massively changes. When the characters wake up again, the kingdom has...transformed.

Who are the heroes and what are their role in the world?

They can be anyone, really. From the loyal cavalryman of the Royal Guard to the bandit eking out a living in the woods...the only important thing is that they will not be totally antisocial.

Is the objective merely to survive? something more?

Maybe survival horror is not the exact way to describe what I have planned. This will be heavily plot-driven as the characters find out what has happened and try to right the wrong that has afflicted the kingdom.

I think we'd be willing to take any information you want to give.

Interested. I'd like to take the part of the Barbarian King. I have one already thought of.

Would I be right in saying that this game seems to be Silent Hill meets Game of Thrones?

If so, count me in!!

I take it magic and the like are prevalent? If so, I have an idea. Pretty simple one really. An Arcane Battery. No fancy spells that do this that and the other thing, just all the blasting and a little blade enchanting. A pretty standard energy controller archetype.
