"We'll just continue this then, and then that'll be it! We can't keep doing this." Empath said as he quickly grabbed the soldier to pull him through the portal along with the rest of them to the next location.

" you know, they're willing to kill you... Doesn't sound like quite a rewarding job experience..." Empath would later comment after they reached a place where they could get some breathing room.

After Empath moved through the portal Twist had created Grail hustled through and took account of their new surroundings then moved out of the way of the portal so whoever was behind him wouldn't be bumping into his back. When everyone had come through he nodded to the soldier.

"This is the last round of the Q&A guys. We'll start with whose in charge. If you have other inquiries, you have time for one or two. Then we need to bolt."

Mina let the corner of the barn drop and stepped through Twist's portal.

"If this keeps going, Akira is going to run out of missiles," she commented.

Sending the prisoner through first, Lyle is the last to step through the portal, flames licking the end of his labcoat as he crosses the threshold.

"Looks like I can cross walking away from an explosion off the bucket list." He quips to nobody in particular.

The heroes manage to make it through the portal just as the missile blows up the barn and all the animals in it. A few cow pieces are blown through the portal. Due to the time constraints, the heroes find themselves in a clearing in the woods which they recognize as a way point used by Twist.

On arrival, Empath is able to glean from the soldiers mind that his superior at the prison is a Warden Carmichael. One day the person showed up with the proper paperwork and took charge. He doesn't talk about anything other than he prison.

Same drill as before. Whoever is look outs I need notice checks.

Evo kept lookout as usual, but he wondered if they had some other means of tracing the soldier....

Mina caught one of the chunks of flesh that were blasted through the portal and considered it for a moment. She never had gotten lunch.

Later, she decided. "I want to know where these anti-paragon guns are coming from," she said out loud. "No one else in the world even knows what's causing paragons, or how they work. Anyone who knows how to switch us on and off probably knows where we come from. They might even have created us."

When Empath asks Mina's questions he gets the following response:

All of the weapons and ammo are issued from the top secret R&D labs located all over the world. The only one he knows of is below in the Buckner Ridge prison and not even he can get access to it.

After Mina asked her next question Avory didn't give people much time to stop and think about what they wanted to ask. If they weren't prepared with questions, they didn't have time to wait. Not given how fast Akira caught up to them last time. Besides, Twist needed some time to actually look for a good spot sometimes.

"That's it. We're ditching the him here. Let's move out. We'll wait at the next site a bit to see if Akira is still following us. Twist, try to get us some cover with a clear view of anyone approaching."

A pauser, then he added.

"Paradgim, make sure there aren't any bugs on us."

"yes boss, one portal coming up lickety split, to a place with cover but a view"

Twist opens a portal to a wooded ridgeline.

"Alright then, heres hoping your bosses still won't try to kill you." He said, tapping the soldier in the back of the head as he stood up from where he had rested the second time to pry in his mind and moved to pass through the portal to their next location.

" Ugh.. I really hate reading peoples minds... It makes me feel so weird."

"We should kill him," Mina said. "He's seen all of your faces."

She reached out with one hand and picked the Akira guard up by the neck. "I'll do it for you."

Avory was about ready to jog through the portal when Mina grabbed their captive and talked about killing the man. Raising his left hand he placed it on the woman's bicep.

"We aren't killers. Anyone who isn't wearing a mask knowingly took a risk of being identified."

Pale pink lips pursed together. After saying his peace he drew back his hand. Then he turned and made way for the portal.

Lyle grimaces and exhales a full lung of smoke from his nostrils.

"Zombie, you can do what you feel needs to be done and I'm not going to try and stop you. I just think you should know that getting blood on my hands is where I draw the line. Just for perspective's sake, I'm just saying that you're about to go in to territory that I, 'kind of subjective morality', thinks is screwed up."

Even as he speaks, he absentmindedly forms a relay swarm to probe everyone for errant electronic devices.
