Singularity (Vincent Irons)
HP: 3
Cnd: Fatiuged
Location: Prison, bomb #3

Singularity gave the fairies a mean look ... and was about to swat at them ... when they poofed out of existance. Recalling Wraith's advices to go after Hardbody Singularity held up a hand to halt Graft.

"Hold tight till I disarm this Graft. I need someone to make sure I'm not blindsided while working ... and having the entire team split up is a bad idea."

Moving over to the bomb he eyed it a moment. No wiggly wobbling warping of reality. That was a good sign. Opening his right hand the familiar probing tool he'd used on the previous explosives seemed to materialize in hand. Then jabbing it into the bomb at a seemingly random location he hummed to himself while the nanites did their work of disarming and deconstructing the explosive materials.

Also, since we have a map of the place now, do we have an idea where Balor's cell was?

Singularity

You easily disarm the bomb, now that reality is no longer a taffy pull.

The map suggests that the Maximum Security wing is in fact several levels down in an underground area. Given they have multiple redundant power feeds, the prisoners from there must have been released from the security command. It's probably also why it took them so long to get up here.

Wraith
HP:1(0) Cnd: Inner Struggle

As the ebon tendrils encircled Balor, the demon within Stephyn lashed out again...flowing up an around the Umbral Warlock and attempting to reach Balor....FEED...KILL...EAT IT, EAT IT, EAT IT...KILL...Gritting his teeth, Wraith floats out of the room carrying Balor behind him. Sweat beeded up on Stephyn's brow. The task itself wasn't difficult. Nor was the waves of Chaos particularily challenging. No...it was the beast within. It sensed a struggle without that might weaken the former Hunter's resolve. IT was this that it attacked...it was this it battered against., Stephyn's walls of faith...walls of belief....walls of will...IRON WILL...NO ...you will NOT FEED...We are not a MONSTER...you are not my MASTER... I AM THE MASTER...As his will rolled over the shadow of the beast, it slowly...reluctantly, withdrew it's spectacle till is was once agin just a glimmering aura

Save vs Chaos DC14 (1d20+10=23)...will move Balor several "rooms" away. Quick question...our psionic link still up?

Graft
HP: 0 Cnd: Fine

"Now that the bombs are disarmed, we should prioritize getting the security systems back online." What Graft really wanted to do was chase after Hardbody and make sure she was alright, but as Singularity was the only one who could fix the security system, the construct resolved to make sure he was able to do just that. He was their only shot at this.

Wraith
HP:1(0) Cnd: Stressed

Once Stephyn "hears" that Singularity has disarmed the last bomb, the Shadow Slinger "speaks" up...Will find a place to drop Balor...then I'll get Hardbody...Uuunngghh...Wraith stops in mid thought as waves of Chaos spew from Balor, temporarily overcoming Stephyn natural defenses. For brief few seconds, Balor is covered in tiny feral faeries that try to slash the ebon bonds encircling him. Grabbing his own temples, Stephyn growls, "Noooo...." Straightening back up, Wraith reaches back out and grabs Balor in a bonecrushing Shadowgrasp. With the Gruesome Giant once agin in tow, Stephyn starts to search for an appropriate cell...Find Charli....

Save vs Chaos DC14 (1d20+10=13)...Confuse Effect (1d20=5)...which is Act Normally. I assume that all it will do is interupt him in his action for a second. Will then begin a Search pattern for a cell that could hold Balor. Search (1d20+2=16) followed by Notice (1d20+12=31)

Singularity (Vincent Irons)
HP: 3
Cnd: Fatiuged
Location: Prison, bomb #3

Singularity looked at Graft as he and Wraith offered up some ideas, then nodded in agreement with the plan that had worked out between them. Rising up off the ground a foot Singularity pointed down the hallway that would start their journey on the right track.

"Then we're off to the security station. Wraith says he'll go after Hardbody once he's stowed the Big Bad Baby away."

He gave Graft a chance to take the lead and do his scout thing. Then he zipped down the hallway on his shiny silver disk.

Wraith and Hardbody

Wraith runs into a few guards dressed in very unusual hazmat suits holding an extra large version of the same thing. At first they appear ready to fire on you, but when they see you are carrying an unconscious Balor, they lower their weapons. You leave the villian with them in to fit into a custom containment suit until the security system can be brought online and he can be put back in his cell. You skip the small talk and explanation in favor of searching for Hardbody.

After a short time of sprinting, including busting down a couple doors and taking some stairs a flight at a time, you are able to calm down enough to stop. Making your way back to the scene of the fight, you run into Wraith who is apparently looking for you.

Graft and Singularity

You two make your way back to the security center and bring everything back online just in time to see some guards arrive with Balor in a weird hazmat suit at the maximum security cells. Another group of guards are also bringing Shadeling.

We really need to go now if we want to stay in range, Psion says over the mental link.

Pretty much done with Part 1. Feel free to rp out anything you want before we begin Part 2. I will make a final wrap up post for this part tomorrow or Saturday, depending on how late I get home tomorrow.

Wraith
HP:1(0) Cnd: Really?

Stephyn had just calmed himself and the beast within when Hardbody came back around the corner, "Hardbody?..." The question in his voice was subtle yet still there all the same....are you OK?...Waiting for a beat as he watch the Mistress of Muscles body language. Flight or Fight? Friend or Foe? Too many times this day had had friendlies point weapons of destruction in his direction. He couldn't help but be a little wary. After a few more heartbeats, when it seemed that she wouldn't try to decorate the prison walls with his bodily fluids, Stephyn opened his mouth to say something...

We really need to go now if we want to stay in range.

Looking over at Hardbody, Wraith sends out to the others...Hardbody and I can meet you at the Vigilence if you guys can make your own way there...Stephyn gestures at Charli as he expands a pool of shadows on the floor into a large portal.

Extra Effort to do Full Round Shadowgate[Portal Teleportation 3, Medium: Shadows w/Change Direction, Change Velocity, Easy, and Subtle]...will shake it off when we are all back on the Vigilence.

Singularity (Vincent Irons)
HP: 3
Cnd: Fatiuged
Location: Heading to the Vigilance

Singularity delivered a smile and a jolly wave to the guards ferrying Balor and Shadeling around. As if none of them had opened fire on the Guardians a short while ago. With the bombs and security systems handled was ready to head out. On hearing Wraith's 'lets meet up' mental message he raised a hand to the ceiling. From his wrist a black cloud washed over the ceiling and space between the floor and the ground level of the prison. The resulting flurry of activity was a spontaneous stair case leading to the surface.

"We're good here. ]Let's move out buddy."

He called to Graft, then flew up the hole he had created. Once Graft was outside, the stair case melted away and the hole in the ceiling was repaired by dedicated nanites. If need be he'd lend Graft a hand getting over the walls, or ferry him the rest of the way to the Vigilance if he was of a mind to hitch a ride.

Hardbody

Charli had reappeared with a thoroughly annoyed look on her face. It was becoming her default expression. She used to be a girl who smiled all the time--someone who was genuinely having fun. She wasn't having fun now.

"That was horrible," she told Stephyn. "That guy's power...did my head in." She almost apologized for having run away, but she had not made the choice. The only thing she could apologize for was not being made of tougher stuff. And she thought she was. Thought being the operative word.

"I could probably take a tank round to the face and laugh it off, but that guy...how do I protect myself from ....that?!"

Graft, Wraith, Singularity

As you finish securing the prison, you are leaving when several guards try to stop you. Almost immediately, the warden arrives and orders them to stand down.

"Thank you for your help. You saved a lot of lives today. Now we just need to round up the escaped prisoners."

Almost on queue, a communication comes from the front gate that the prisoners have started returning and falling asleep. The warden asks for assistance in dealing with the sudden influx of prisoners, and both Hardbody and Victoria volunteer to stay behind. The three of you join Psion on your aircraft. As you take off, Psion's eyes suddenly go white.

"I just lost all contact with Tension."

Tension

As you stare down with the other Grue, the ship passes through... something. You're not sure what, but you felt something; and now all the Grue appear disorientated. Lucky for you, they put their craft on auto-pilot because it takes a good minute for any of them to gain their senses back.

"What happened?" one of them stammers.

"I don't know. I've lost my connection with the Unity."

"We all have."

Flux

You wake up in a strange room. The last few months have felt like a dream. You were personally asked by the Freedom League to join a new team of heroes called Southern Watch. It was a dream come true. Or was it.

All of your memories of the last several months are a blur, like you did dream the whole thing. Now you are laying face down on a tile floor in a room with a flickering overhead light. Around you are five glass cylinders, each empty. As you look behind you, it becomes clear that you were inside a sixth cylinder only to have fallen out of it - your feet are still inside the cylinder. There are several scorch marks on the walls, plus on all six of the cylinder doors.

Wraith
HP:1(0) Cnd: Disturbed

At Charli's comment, Stephyn said the only thing he could, "By being yourself...just be you." With a tired shrug, Wraith continues in a whisper, "Besides...the worst monster each of us could ever face is the one we create within ourselves...of our very selves."

The rest was almost a blur, thankfully though, everything seemed to flow in their direction for once. It wasn't long before they got back to the Vigilance and Graft slid back into the Pilot's chair... Worry for their absent teammate, Tension, weighed heavily on Stephyn's mind. He still thought that they should have done something different....that there had to have been another way. Regrets or not, the past was the past.

When Psion's head bolts upright and informs that he has lost contact with Tension, Stephyn looks over and nods. Then bowing his head down, the Umbral Warlock begins to whisper in a gutteral abyssal language and his eyes deepen to shadowy pools and he sends his sense out across the penumbra...trying to seek his friend.

Singularity (Vincent Irons)
HP: 3
Cnd: Fatiuged
Location: the Vigilance

Back at the Vigilance Singularity had settled into a seat and buckled up for the ride. After they'd taken off he stretched, yawned, and seemed about ready to try and sneak in a nap. But this was preempted by Psion's warning about loosing contact with Tension. Sniffing he watched Wraith so ... something magical ... before swinging his silver eyes over to Graft.

"Pour on the speed and hold the course for now. If we can get into range of the tracer Tension has, we should be good."

The tracer is in range, and Wraith sees the scene described.
