Arty was a spin master, even more so now. His spin usually involved trips to tropical resorts, staying at expensive hotels in the middle east, and grant casinos all over the world. "I loved to help, I really would. Our last team up didn't work out so well though and I have a policy against working for politicians. Even ex ones are pretty brutal. You never know what bodies they have buried and enemies to come back and bite you. A former enemy of a politician I worked for after leaving the old team was this snake woman who actually bit me. It wasn't a fun experience. Unless I can meet these people, I am going to have to decline. Now if they want to meet me there is this nice resort in Hawaii. Over looks the ocean. They can set up a room there and we can work something out."

Of course he was going to say no. He had a nice setup already with some major deals in the works. If he could get a free trip to Hawaii and information on his old teams new employers he was going to take it. He would be lying to himself if he said the trip wasn't the most important part. The information would be a plus and justify the trip to his new employers though.

Wraith

Your shadow blade takes down another; but before the last two can move in on you, Blaze moves in and takes them down with one fluid strike.

"Didn't think Jack was one to teach showboat maneuvers." She says dryly as she cleans off her sword.

Graft
HP: 1

Graft picked up Beverly at the coffee shop after her shift and they went for a walk in the park before going to dinner at an Italian restaurant. To say the construct felt out of his element would have been the understatement of the year. The contrast to his usual calm and cool behavior would have been shocking to anyone who knew him well.

Thankfully Beverly picked up on it and mostly maintained the conversation herself with small contributions from Graft every now and then. As he listened to her talk about her life, from small memories to big, pivotal decisions, he grew to better understand some of what Mike had been trying to tell him. Admittedly, his existence up to this point had been short. But none the less, he'd been fighting for most of his life. He'd essentially been living a half-life, if even that.

Graft listened with interest to her telling of her life growing up in a small town. The everyday joys and the friends she made. Of coming to Houston to follow her dreams of studying to become an artist. Afterwards he walked her to her apartment, saying goodnight before once more making his way to the Guardians HQ. Graft felt an unfamiliar mix of confusion and fulfillment after the evening as he returned to the floor housing the main living spaces in the building.

HP:0 Cnd: Angry

The mention of Jack Morgan immediately made Stephyn's blood boil. Her casual remark and the snide way it was delivered spoke of familiarity.BUT, Stephyn had never seen Blaze before today. Without warning, his demonic symbiote growled and slightly materialized...rising off his face like a badly filmed special effect, it snapped at the arrogant Hunter.

Before it could go any further, Stephyn whirls and starts for the other room and replies with coldness in his voice, "Use what you have....whatever you have...any WAY that you can. Anything...ANYTHING could be the difference between your still breathing or becoming demonshit tomorrow. THAT is what Jack taught. Every ability you have could be a weapon...not just the sword and fist, the mind and body as well. EVERYTHING Blaze. HE Taught me that...and I learned my lesson well."

Without waiting for reply Stephyn enters the next room.

Wraith

Blaze seems unfazed by your demon's reaction. She pats you on the cheek and continues on. "Chill out, Mr. Serious, it was a joke."

The two of you enter the next room. Half a dozen smear demons, post-molt, plus the molt. It takes little effort to end these creatures.

"Well that was fun. Can't wait to see what you have in mind for a second date." There is a definite look in her eye, she is only half-kidding.

Several days have passed since you had the glassworkers up to replace window that Taurus' present broke. Now the group is gathered around having a nice meal prepared by Arty's team chef when a call comes in.

"This if Lt. Carson with the Houston Police Department. We have a group of supervillians who have taken a school bus full of Elementary school kids hostage demanding $10 billion dollars or they start killing kids on TV. How quick can you be here?"

Terrabull
HP: 1
Condition: On the go.

Bedros didn't hesitate once he heard that children were endangered he was on his hooves and out the door heading for the freight elevator. He would have gone anyways given his protective nature but when it was children that were involved he took it especially seriously.

He would do what ever it took to protect the children.

The look in his eyes spoke volumes.

Those involved in harming them would regret ever being born.

Another day another mission to ruin a god meal of steak, shrimp, and vodka imported from Russia. The life of a super hero was so demanding at times. Terra Bull seemed to jump right into it though. "Hold off there big fella. We need to arrive as a team. If one of comes charging in first they will kill the hostages. We need to approach it with tact and finesse. Even if one kid gets killed we will have a PR nightmare on our hands. When we get on the scene, I will try to talk them down using my new charm while the rest of you get ready to pounce before they have a chance to react. We take them down hard and fast if they turn aggressive. We need you to shield the children Bedros."

Bedros didnt respond save that he held his hand in front of the elevator doors and looked back at the others expectantly as if to say "Coming?"

He knew Arty was right of course he hadnt planned on just waltzing in and dancing with them, but this was time for action and so he had acted.

Somethign else was on his mind though as well. he hadnt yet told them about what happened on his birthday. Only Shutterbug knew from a local broadcast he'd caught but the others didnt know or at least hadnt yet brought it up yet.

His mom had to reschedule shed be by later in the week to visit. She hadnt said anythign more but "Be careful." She knew about the fight but had kept the concern well hidden in her voice for his sake.

Things were going to get very dangerous for him and for anyone assoicated with him soon and he honestly didnt know what he was going to do about it.

Graft
HP: 1

Graft was quick to his feet and was soon at Bedros' side, if only to make sure his bighearted teammate didn't do something he'd regret later. He still remembered the rage the bullheaded powerhouse had flown into when they faced Kaine. There was something else, Bedros had been acting strangely lately, at least as far as Graft could tell, though he didn't know why.

The construct idly pondered who was behind this new incident. He couldn't imagine that anyone besides a bunch of newly powered rookies could be stupid enough to try something like this. Unless it was a trap or distraction of some sort. Anyway, they'd find out more once they got to the scene.

Much like Bedros, Stephyn's first reaction was to bolt upright and immediately start towards the window, to hell with the elevator, it was slow. But Arty's assessment was correct. Plans were needed...stumbling in and wanton destruction had been their modus operandi far too many times before.

A moments thought made Stephyn turn to Byron,"Bug...can you pull up feeds for the incident? I am sure there are multiple news feeds as well as secure police feeds We need to get as much information as we can from every source we can. We can reveiw these as we make our way there...sound good to you Arty?"

Shrugging into his battlecoat, Stephyn strolls over to Bedros and Pats him on the shoulder as he heads through the door, "We will be in time...Nothing stops the Guardians Bull. Nothing" Even as he states that, another thought passes through the Shadow Sorceror's mystical mind,"You know guys...we have been anything but subtle. So it stands to reason that this has nothing to do with money and everything to do with us. Everyone knows we are here in Houston. Everyone. This is a trap...or at the very least a call out. Someone wants to bloody our noses...at the very least."
