"More than you might imagine," Mike replies. "Now where were we, oh right. Your favorite fighter, let's see where did they go?"

Wraith
HP:0 Cnd: Chasticed and Chaliced

Walking slowly out of the basement, Stephyn looks pensive. ...Co-Exist, she says....easier said than done....question is...did I pass or did I fail???...Oh Jack...why did you have to die old friend...I am so not ready for this...Head turning to the sky, Wraith silently glides upawrds, turning south...towards his Uncle's store and the confrontation he is no looking forward to...

Gliding to the ground, Stephyn Parthenos walks to the door and solemnly opens it..."Thieos...Uncle, I have returned. And I have brought what they asked for." Taking the bag out, Wraith places the bag and chalice upon the counter. Before his uncle can respond, Stephyn asks, " Uncle...why is the former Council head interested in me...and more importantly, just how much influence does he still hold? What Uncle, what exactly is his game? And why are you involved?"

Graft
HP: 0 CND: -2 to Toughness

Graft scans the crowd of people silently for a moment before pointing out a man. "There, that practitioner of Muay Thai." The man was taking animatedly with someone else, but the marks of previous hard-fought battles were evident all across his body.

"His all-time records show that he has never won a single tournament but he has taken part in a remarkably many of them. I... believe he is here because he chose this, because he set this as his goal and guide. This is the path he has chosen and he will not be swayed from it, no matter what opposition he faces."

The construct turned to look at Mike expectantly, the uncertainty on his face, small though it may be, obvious compared to his normal passive expression.

"Callin is the head of the North American arm of the Council. He contacted me and said he wanted to help you. I didn't know it was going too be an assignment or a test. And other than he was Jack's mentor in the early days and they continued to stay in touch well after Jack became a Hunter, I really don't know what his intentions are."

Your Uncle pauses. "Before he left, he said something that made me think he didn't believe the assignment that killed Jack was an accident. He suggested as the only living witness, you might still be in danger from the person who sent the two of you to die. That maybe that is why the Council is so hot to clean this up quickly."

Mike turns to you and studies you for a bit. "Okay, let's see how he does."

"Me say the wrong thing? You should know me better than that. I almost wrote the book on giving interviews until I missed every deadline by publishers. Now if you will excuse me, I need to go get cleaned up before dinner. I don't think the restaurant would appreciate me stumbling in like this." Clearly hurt but trying to hide it, Arty staggers past Jane and the pretty waitress with a smile.

Once he got to his room, the first thing he did was was get cleaned up a bit. Stryke may have had the mind of a petulant child, but he could hit as hard as truck. So far the evening wasn't going quite as planned, but he was at least having some interesting company for dinner. The singer coming by the table would have to be canceled though. Allison didn't seem like the sort who would appreciate the gesture. After getting ready and making arrangements for a taxi, Arty headed back down to find Allison.

Wraith
HP:0 Cnd: Still Wary

"The Latent...he was much more powerful, more more along than we were lead to believe. And...I don't remember how I got to the safehouse...I just woke up there."

Taking a deep breath, Stephyn takes a moment to sit down, " Callin....I think I had heard Jack mention that name once or twice. Head of the North Amercan Council...I do agree with him though. The whole thing smells of a set up. And Jack did have enemies."

Turning towards his uncle, Stephyn looks the older man in the eyes, "Uncle...don't ever set me up again. Please...I need someone I can count on. Someone who knows that I am in control...that the demon has not taken me over. Just don't do that again..."

Looking over at the Chalice, "What are you going to do with that?"

"Stephyn, I'm sorry. They arrived and told me to call you. There wasn't time to warn you. Callin said he was here to help you. He and Jack were so close, I never even considered he would have been here to set you up."

"This? The two in the yin yang robes are coming by tomorrow to pick it up."

Arty comes downstairs to find Allison waiting by a car. She motions for you to get in.

"Look, you know I don't like you being here. Mike isn't supposed to be here. So let's make a deal, you make this team work, and I won't make your life a living hell."

After a few minutes, "And keep my brother out fo my hair."

Wraith
HP:0 Cnd: Tired

"Do you trust them? The ones with Callin? They seemed abit agressive and very quick to judge..."

Standing up before his Uncle can answer, Stephhyn pulls his hood over his head and starts to the door, "I must go now Uncle...I have a...message to deliver. Theios...you need me you call. No second thoughts, no worries about if you should...just call me. And...if those two give you any problems...I will teach them to be afraid of the dark again..."

Grim look on his face, Wraith raises slowly into the air and heads back to the Guardhouse.

Arty still looks not quite up to par, but puts on a pleasant face. It is not quite as bravado when around the people though. "I only took the job because Mike called in a favor. Before I came here though, this team was a mess. If the last team battle and that video we gave you is any measure of our future performance, I am pretty sure I can lead this team in the right direction." After that moment of semi seriousness, Arty looks to revert back to his kicked back and joking ways. "I am not saying I wouldn't mind you making my life a living hell. Sounds like it might be a spot of fun with you. When we get to dinner you can tell me all about this living hell and how I should handle the press." He stretched his feet as far as he could and leaned back after telling the driver the address.

After your success in dealing Dr Death and the villians that attacked the press conference, the local authorities have come to accept your team with open arms. In fact, AEGIS has asked you to be present and a very special shipment arrives by boat. They want you there while they unload it from the ship on to a very special armored vehicle, and then escort it to city limits.

AEGIS is making a big show with a lot of security, practically a platoon of men. The area is cordoned off with no civilians anywhere in sight, and the armored vehicle looks like a super-tank.

You are all at the docks waiting for the arrival of the ship which is due in about 30 minutes. Agent Torrez asks you, "Are there any last minute security checks you want to do?"

Graft
HP:1

"You did not tell us what is being transported. It would help greatly with threat-assessment to know that. For instance, if we know who or what is being transported, we can deduce who might try to intercept the target. From there likely force-compositions, tactics and threat-level can be worked out."

As Graft spoke, his eyes scanned the surroundings for any signs that something was out of place. Likewise, he went over the AEGIS personnel present, recalling anything he knew about their backgrounds. Possible weaknesses that could be exploited, family members that could be threatened, past indiscretions that would point to shady connections. The construct had been insufficiently briefed so he concluded that anyone who was not a member of his team was a possible threat.

Agent Torrez says, "Suffice to say it's a highly sensitive and valuable piece of technology. Beyond that, none of you have clearance for."

Your assessment of the security indicates AEGIS has done a pretty complete job. The two black holes are what is being transported and the vehicle itself. You aren't allowed with 100 feet of it, much less inside. None of the AEGIS personnel present are very talkative and you don't have access to AEGIS personnel files to make assessments on potential traders.

The biggest problem you see is that they are making such a big show of security and they do not have the transports to move this many people with the vehicle; therefore, while on the move AEGIS is relying almost entirely on the vehicle's defense - which you have no idea what they are.

"Understood." Nodding to Agent Torrez in understanding, Graft said to the others in a lowered voice: "They are either incompetent or this is a set-up."
