Crinoverse: The Avengers IC (The End part 3)

[Crinos]

The old airbender laughs, "Oh no, nothing like that. At least not till the mountains. There may be some wild wolf bats though."

Gatekeeper looks at Korra, "How do you live in a place like this?"

Korra shrugs, "Hey, I've lived in precisely two places: The South Pole, and a modern city, I don't deal with this stuff either. Sides, the only wolf Bats I know are the Pro Bending team."

"And Coda's slipped away as well," Xiao says, seeing the crowd's mood hasn't changed much

"we should get inside, explain to the others what happened." he leaves out how at the least, this should scare them into cleaning up their act, and giving Derek's people the support asked of them. but those are mercenary thoughts, the way stratos likes to think, even with his reformation. right now, there are a bunch of people scared out of their wits that the Voice In The Night will come for them next

Inwardly, xiao's kicking himself. he'd promised to protect Thanatos, and he'd failed catastrophicly to even stay at his side

[Yeoman]

All three of them flash badges, two secret service: Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering, and one ATF, Steve Jinks.

You actually recognize the first two from the Avengers files: They are agents from Warehouse 23, the storage place for all sorts of weird stuff, controlled by the Labyrinth.

"Alright then," Lattimer says, "Looks like you have the bad guy well in hand, so we'll just take these artifacts off your hands."

"Man, Artie is going to have a field day with all this stuff." Myka says as she heads over to the table.

"Careful," Scrounge says, "We're still not sure what all this stuff does yet."

((Actually, I kinda doubt she's that thorough...))

"Whatevs. You seem legit. THere gonna be a problem with me taking my stuff?"

"That depends, does any of it besides the guitar do anything weird?" Myka asks.

"Not that we could stop you anyways," Pete says, "Just wondering."

"Not as far as I know," Ali says, starting to carefully sort through for their things and find bags to put them in.

"Hey Kid, heard you had a run in with Scream Queen II."

"Not much of one: I took down all her minions, we traded a few blows, then she ran.

"I'd be having a pride high right now except I couldn't save that guard. I really don't quite know how to feel: back home I never would have been able to take on that many people and someone powered on my own, but somehow I'm not any more effective here."

He looks around, "Look, keep this under your hat, but I'm a paramedic in my day job; So I know something about not being able to save someone. You'll drive yourself crazy if you dwell on everyone you dwell on each one, So just focus on the people you did save."

[Crinos]

"Not as far as I know," Ali says, starting to carefully sort through for their things and find bags to put them in.

"She's telling the truth." Jinks says as he moves to the table.

"Okay then," Pete says, "Carry on."

"...You'll drive yourself crazy if you dwell on everyone you dwell on each one, So just focus on the people you did save."

"I know: this isn't the first time for me, either. I'm an international police officer back home. Like a 'super-cop' I guess is how you'd say it. And that's not a job for people who want a guarantee against seeing death -- sometimes literally.

"I guess here the power is getting to my head. *sigh* Though I really should have learned that lesson the first time: I wasn't always crystal powered like this, I used to be normal. For my dimension, anyway. I kind of let myself get cocky when I first started using my powers with LANTERN. I made a whole bunch of mistakes, and it was only because I wasn't in charge of anything important that no one got seriously hurt.

"It's......just a lot of adjusting."

He had read a few papers on other dimensions once-one published by Dr. Atom, one by Doc Steel, and a sort of travel log of trips into the Imageria by that Reinhardt guy. For every one thing he had understood, there had been two that left him tilting his head and saying 'huh'?

[Yeoman]

"Not as far as I know," Ali says, starting to carefully sort through for their things and find bags to put them in.

Ali finishes getting everything of theirs into bags and boxes and begins to head out.

Later that night, after the airbenders have gone to sleep, The three of you head off into a field.

"Alright, the two of you ready."

Korra seems positively giddy, "ooh I can't wait, I'm finally going to see the spirit world."

[Arthur Eld]

"I'm ready. Not really sure to expect, so we'll just have to be careful."

[Crinos]

"I'm ready. Not really sure to expect, so we'll just have to be careful."

There is a sudden flash, when you arrive in the spirit world.

Its... a nightmare.

The ground all around you is blasted a hellish red, like there was some kind of storm which had stripped everything clean. All around you can see jutting spires of twisted black metal with shining beacons at the top. Off in the distance you can see what looks like a massive black globe in a metal frame, electricity arcing off it.

"This..." Korra looks around, "This isn't right. The Spirit world isn't supposed to be like this...." She looks up, "You don't suppose the Avatar did this did you? I mean there's nothing saying the Avatar has to be a good guy, and you said anything is possible in the multiverse right?"

Gatekeeper looks over the spires, he has gone pale.

"No... It wasn't the Avatar. We... We need to go. We need to go right now."

[Arthur Eld]

"We just got here! What could possibly be so frightening we have to leave without even looking for the Avatar?" This place was a mess, but it wasn't as bad as Nihilor has been.

[Crinos]

"Okay I don't know what a Tyrannon is, but I'm looking for the Avatar." Korra rushes off.

"NO DAMMIT!" Gatekeeper says, he facepalms, "Lets get her quick."
