Clockwork
HP:1 Condition: Fine

Clockwork said nothing as Behemoth shoved them into the pod. It was logical for Behemoth to stay behind. He was too big to fit into the escape capsule with the other two and his time was nearing an end. Additionally, the man was more emotional than logical. He would likely be unable to convey the tactically significant information the team had acquired. He failed to see why Behemoth's brother would need to be informed of Behemoth's demise or what his emotional state was at the time. The calculations were obvious given the limits of Behemoth's resistance to Va Shaak weaponry. He would be destroyed within 5.47 minutes with an additional 37 seconds if the explosive decompression of the escape pods egress drove back the assailants. It was perplexing why the man would wish for his brother to be told that Behemoth loved him. Given the standard family dynamic of siblings growing in close proximity, the level of familiarity and reciprocal concern typically referred to as love would be a strong statistical likelihood. He pondered the oddity of the statement until Artemis's declaration caught his attention. He turned to his comrade and said,"His personnel file contains complete information on his family. Family history is a standard part of the considerations for the Process."

He assumed that finished their conversation and turned back to conduct a diagnostic on his SAW. Of 27 shots fired, 21 had been used to eliminate Va Shaak soldiers. Three had failed to penetrate the armor of the elite guard troopers, requiring recalibration to focus on structural weakpoints. Those were easily dismissed as a chance to update his data on the Va Shaak. Less forgivable were those that simply failed to hit the target due to operator error. Two failures to adapt to the varying situation. Clockwork would have to improve. He considered the final shot. The Va Shaak physiology differed from humans in notable respects but they had essential systems. Clockwork considered the utter dedication of the other Gladitori to eliminating the Va Shaak officer. They apparently were unable or unwilling to consider that reprisal was a near certainty. The elimination of the officer and the collateral damage done to his subordinates aboard the ship would lead to thousands of human deaths. Clockwork predicted they would have felt crushing guilt if they considered it in strictly numerical terms. Therefore it was only logical that the direct responsibility went to Clockwork. A single magnetized gauss round could be seen as the singular cause of what was certain to follow. Action required understanding and therefore the logical choice was for Clockwork to deliver the lethal action.

THE MOUNTEBANK

BUILD: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=42053&start=30#p882383

"I'm the bad boy of the year," he says out loud, "But I can't say I'm used to that voice in my head stuff much."

"What?" asked Shannon, who had been deep in conversation with The Mountebank, and although she knew better -- she definitely knew better -- she was THIS close to giving him her number --

"Oh, it's nothing. Just my conscience, or something even less important," The Mountebank whispered, "How do you like your steaks, by the way? Medium rare? Raw? I like a girl with an appetite... a big appetite..."

The situation had devolved into an uncomfortable mess for Uproar. The Mountebank was living up to his reputation. In the short time he had spent with his fellow Gladitori prospects it was obvious that Mountebank was more a trickster than a hero. But although his motivations seemed suspect to Uproar he was here to serve...at least for the moment. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes on you.

The Dock

Commander Taylor sighed and smiled at the group. She had expected this level of banter because of the death sentence that they had all signed - slack was required but there would be need to be some level of discipline established. Before she could begin to respond on interject, a signal came through her earpiece. Glancing at the reporter, she nodded and gazed skyward.

"We've just received confirmation that there has been a major explosion in space - one of the Va Shaak ships has just been destroyed !"

Touching her hand to her ear, she hands back the conversation to the other woman.

"That's right. A major strike against the Va Shaak, and we have the Gladitori to thank? Will the newest members rise to the challenge?" She obviously ignored implications of retaliation in her reporting, loathing the fact that she had to contribute to the propaganda but realizing it's importance. "We are also tracking four escape pods on a trajectory to land not far from our current position.

"Let's hope we can greet some of the heroes in person!

"You'll be able to see the older team meet the newest members live!"

THE MOUNTEBANK

BUILD: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=42053&start=30#p882383

"Wheee!" The Mountebank shouts as he is lifted up into the air and drifts over the landscape... Meanwhile, he reaches in his pocket when he thinks nobody is looking, removes a small "BAYER" aspirin bottle (of the cylindrical, single-pill-stacked-one-on-top-of-the-other style), and twists off the top. He leans over, places a nostril at the opening, and sniffs, hard, inward. He repeats this procedure with the other nostril as well, and then bottles up his powder and puts it back away.

"Sharpening myself up... just sharpening the saw..." he is heard to mutter, before another "WHEEE!!!" erupts.

Louder this time. Much louder.

He's having a freakin' blast.

Visionary

Steve was taken a bit by surprised when he suddenly found himself 'flying' through the air towards the estimated landing area of the escape pods form the ship. Hopefully, they weren't empty.

UPROAR

The suddenness of the ascent catches Uproar by surprise. He slowly looks down and gasps again as he realizes how far above the ground they've already travelled. Immediately his eyes bolt shut, with no plans of opening again until his feet touch the ground.

Any Gladitori that does not wish to be transported by Mindspike please say so or be considered included.

As Mindspike's action is not combat related, I will nor require a roll.

I am ruling that Commander Taylor was outside Mindspike's intended area, and if it was intended to include her, please advise and I will adjust accordingly.

A Rocky Beach

The team touches down lightly near the impact sight, the ground torn up from the slight bounce and roll of the pod's not-as-subtle landing... Inside, the two occupants are covered in sweat and slightly banged up but surprisingly well considering that they just fell from the upper atmosphere.

The new members and the "veteran" team members have at least a moment or two to meet each other before the Shannon and Commander Taylor can reach you.

As you open the pod via brute strength, applied sonics, mental force or simple luck, a nauseated stench comes from within. Perhaps the Va Shaak used this particular pod a a meat locker, someone had seven-year old gym shoes under the seat, or the violent re-entry caused the occupants to lose their lunch. It's hard to say.

Mindspike blanches from the smell coming from the inside of the escape pod. "are you the ones that destroyed the Va Shakk starship?"
