Terralyn looked over in time to see the interplay with Edward and the stool, she was a bit shocked. She briefly wondered if there was the same kind of thing going on with him as with her lately. She overheard the conversation about the football field and thought to herself; Back home in Jeonju it wasn't unusual for me to be out past midnight studying at the Hogwan. I could always tell Father that I was putting in some extra time on the Algebra homework.

Tuff managed to grab the fire extinguisher and get the fire put out. Glancing over at the bar, he could see all "E"s coming up on the cash register. Looking around he and everyone in the room watched as every piece of electronics in the room started to fritz out and wink.

As Edward made his comment to Tuff, suddenly the lights flicker in the whole store. A second later, the sound system totally crapped out and the lights went out completely. Looking out the window, the whole street began to darken, and the last image seen was the falling snow. Then light from outside began to flash through the window. Outside there was the sounds of thunder crashing in the streets. Edward began to feel a surge of energy through his body. Then there was the sound of a racing heartbeat began to pulse from every large piece of metal in the room.

Next to Terralyn, Alanis began to sob in fear. The color drained from Mrs. Darque's face and she held her hand over her mouth, the fear evident in her own eyes. Behind her the microwave began to spark and sputter.

The electric fire was one thing, that could be attributed to any number of things, more than likely faulty wiring. This new series of events was almost... supernatural.

Seb vaulted over the counter and quickly unplugs the microwave, not wanting another flame to start up.

"Is everyone okay?"

A couple good sprays of the extinguisher and the fire fizzles. I'm happy...for about 2 seconds, then the whole place starts going bugnuts crazy. The lights flicker and go out, all the electronics go whacko right before they go as dead as honesty in politics. Then the light show begins from outside. What now? Don't tell me another comet or asteroid or other space junk. Looking around I see everyone starting to flashback on end of the world scenarios. Mrs D is white as a ghost, the girls are crying, cats are sleeping with dogs...mass hysteria!

"Spec-freakin'-tacular! Bob, get everyone out the back door! I'm gonna check this out!"

I just hope my Chuck Norris moment doesn't prove the death of me. Dad would totally kick my @$$ if I died.

"What the hell!" Edward watched as every piece of metal in the place started to shake, slide, or bend towards him.
"Oh, this is going to suck." He thought as he watched the drum set from the Open Mike Night begin to move towards him. "This is really going to suck.
The drums, as well as chairs, a table, and a bunch of silverware came flying at him, and Edward yelled loudly as he threw his arms up to shield him from the impact. "OH SH**!"

"Backdoor yourself farm boy, I want to see this."

Just then every piece of metal in the place heads for his best friend. Doing the only thing he can think of he tackles Ed to the ground hoping it will all fly over him.

Scott whispers fiercely to Ed, "Get yourself under control man,if you're doing this you have to stop, they'll come take you away man!"

Looking out the door, Tuff literally did a double take. There was a naked girl walking down the street, lightning was arcing from the overhead power lines to her. Electricity was crackling around her head and shoulders. As she passed various cars, she'd blast one of them with a ball of electricity from her hands. A pickup truck here, a Mustang there. She skipped a Prius and a Volt and blasted Caddy melting its windows and frying its interior.

As he yanked his head back inside the door, the last thing Tuff noticed that the girl was feeling at least SOME of the cold.

"But, there's a freak thunderstorm outside, its safer in here," He paused, then looked at appliances that were making noise, then added far less confident, "Isn't it?"

"Have to calm down. Scott is right. Hmm, I don't remember thinking that sentence all that often." Edward mused as he tried to control his breathing.
Then, looking past Scott's shoulder, he spotted a four foot tall cast iron milk can flying towards his friend.
"NO!" Edward threw his hand up just before Scott was struck, expecting to see his best friend get demolished by antique dairy equipment, and was shocked when the massive object just stopped in midair, just a few inches from Scott's head.
"Oh crap was that close. Why is that thing just hovering there? At least this day cannot get any wierder."
That was when Edward heard the bursts of sound coming from outside.
"DAMNIT! I know better than to tempt the fates like that."

I back pedal into the coffeehouse before the naked lightning chick sees me and decides I'm as offensive as a parked car. Crap! Crap,crap,crap, crap...Crap! Double crap! We are seriously in trouble here! Either that or I have lost my marbles. "Bob, bubba what is goin' on out there is so wrong I don't even know where to begin. She blew up an F-150 and a Mustang GT! As a Ford guy, I gotta tell you, that's just wrong. I'm pretty sure it's gonna affect their safety record." I realize I'm babbling and snap my mouth shut. Turning to Bob and Sebastian, I hook my thumb at the door. "Look out there and tell me what you see. I seriously think I'm hallucinating." Make that, I hope I'm hallucinating. If I'm not, we're just waiting for Rod Serling to start with the "Picture if you will..."

Scott will move to roll off of Ed as the metallic implements stop flying, just to bump his head on a floating metal pot thing. "Dude put it down, and thanks for the save." As weird as that is, the pale white, slack jawed look on Tuff's face draws his attention enough for him to rush to the door finally. Seeing the hot, cold naked chick blasting her way down the street is scary, but then she isn't the only one that has had puberty take some weird turns in the last month.

"Holy, dude, naked chick, she's totally blasting everything!"

Bob looks at the new guy, then opens the door and looks out.

Then he closes the door and looks at Tuff.

Then he opens the door and looks out again.

Door closed, turns to Tuff one more time, this time his mouth open to say something.

He pauses, opens the door and looks out again before closing the door and turning to the room to annouce loudly, "If everybody could follow me, we're going to head out the back door and over to the fire department..."

"You're definitely not." Seb says as matter of factly as he possibly can. However he feels that his tone gives him away.

"Naked chick? But I also heard explosions, and Tuffelton over there is looking kind of spooked. Should I really go look? Who am i kidding? Sometimes I despair for my whole generation." Edward thought as he maneuvered around the milk can and moved over to look out the door.
"Not too bad, but I like my ladies with a little less "blatantly doing things that are completely impossible". Also, I borrowed my Mom's car today, and 'Mega-Ultra-Lightning Babe' is getting closer to it with every step."

"You guys stay here, I'll go get help."

Scott will dash out the back door, as soon as he's in the alley he'll concentrate, putting his all into setting himself on fire. It seems to take forever, but it works, wreathed in flames, he jumps up, clearing the building and landing between Ed's mom's car and the electric strip show.

In his best (worst) fake adult voice he'll call out.

"Stop, you can't be doing this. I will stop you if I have to!"

He'll then fail at trying to strike an appropriately heroic pose.

For a moment, I almost laugh at Ed's The Incredibles reference, but I'm afraid that if I start laughing, I won't be able to stop. I'm a whisker from getting hysterical, and I'm pretty sure that won't help...either the situation or my reputation at school. "Well Frozone, maybe someone should go out and remind her that public nudity is a misdemeanor and blowing up the neighborhood with lightning bolts is frowned on in polite society." The very fact that I'm cracking wise instead of getting very far away is, in and of itself, evidence that I'm losing it. Shaking my head, I turn away. "Y'know what bubba? I'm gonna help Bobby and Seb evacuate the building. That seems like the smart thing to do before she makes it over here. Sorry about your Mom's car if she blows it up though." I walk over to Mrs. D and guide her toward the back door. "Come on, it's time to run for our lives in an orderly fashion."
