George Fletcher - Operative
HP: 0 Condition: Fine

Paladin wrote:" We need to get going. And I suggest going on foot for the time being. We will have to wait for the slowest among our number anyway since carrying someone high up in the air would make us too tempting a target. Let's move out!"

"No. We're flying." Operative interrupted. He dug the sudden decisiveness that Paladin had acquired all of a sudden but it was the wrong choice. He could smell that it was the wrong choice. "We should go in hot and heavy. Something doesn't smell right about this jungle. Something is in there something not human or animal as we would know it." He took another big old whiff. "It doesn't even smell alive..."

He shook his head. "No Bubba. I could get through the jungle alone and safe but it's not in any of you're wheelhouses. The other two options are better. Either fly straight forward where they'll see us coming, which they already know we're coming even with the edge in time that Braun gave us, or we fly low over the river where they should have a few traps waiting. I say we go with the straight forward route. Even if I do have to be carried."

Pele

Pele had listened to the pros and cons discussed both flying and traveling through the jungle. She would prefer the direct route to the tower. With her speed, she could make it there in almost no time at all. She had seriously considered leaving the others behind and heading to the tower on her own but sometimes, she had been told, you need to think about the others on the team.

Fortunately, Operative did a brief investigation of the jungle and announced that it was too dangerous and deadly. That information made her smile slightly.

"Then a direct approach is what we do. Let's not keep them waiting much longer, shall we?"

Paladin

HP:3
Condition: Normal

" Alright, then. You've been in this for longer.", Paladin reasoned. How strange it was that all his military knowledge only covered normal tactics, not metahuman ones. " If we go in directly, I will do something that might disorient our enemies the moment they see me. But you will need to look away from me when I do it. So, if you hear me say 'hammer' over the comm, you just look away from me. Do not look directly at me for at least ten seconds. Unless you want to experience all the wrong and harmful things you have done in your life again."

A-Bomb
HP: 1 Condition: Compromising

Harry had to force himself not to jump with Paladin's commanding manner. But he'd been at this for a while and could trust his instincts. And George's. "Damnit. I still don't like giving them what they want. I say split up and send me in front. Paladin and I are the hardest targets and I'm shined up fit to match him. We can draw fire and force Teller or Chekhov to expose themselves. Then we've got our earth goddess and super spy flying under their radar and the canopy." The gleaming Nuke Suit highlights Harry inclining his head towards Pele and jerking his thumb over at Operative.

They decide there isn't any other way to play this but loud. So as the heroes take flight, (assuming that one flyer takes one non-flyer) they begin to get a better view of the vista that surrounds them. The sky is....not the sky. Instead, as they get closer they can begin to see indentations and imperfections. It wouldn't be defined as a hologram or an illusion, precisely, but someone put a great deal of effort into making this look real. Still, the cave that you're in is quite large; big enough to hold a city and tall enough to hold a crystalline structure taller than the Empire State Building.

The river bed wends and twists, but you make no effort to follow it's trail. And from this vantage point you can tell that there things in the jungle, but just what is hard to tell. It looks like it could possibly be humanoid, but it's certainly not human. It's movements are far more basic, and far less considered. They move like biological automatons and there are hundreds of them.

In the distance, the crystal pulses and a great burst of energy is sent into the ceiling and pulses through the cavern. This time the energy doesn't take Paladin by surprise, but it feels like the same sort of power that fuels his holy powers, but subverted. Changed. Distorted.

OOC wrote:Okay, I'm going to need Perception checks from everyone. I don't think you were being stealthy, but if you are roll that too. DC 25 on the Perception Check. You don't quite get to the crystal yet, but you're able to get close because of your fast speed before you're interrupted by the perception checks.

Feeling the energy wash over him fills him with a mixture of dread and urgency, causing him to speed up even more, his brilliant aura shining all the brighter in contrast to the hidden oopressiveness of the place..

Pele

Pele was anxious to meet the enemy. In particular she wanted to take Iradei down a couple of notches. Some people felt that a Goddess shouldn't be vindictive or seek revenge. The heck with that, she thought. The Society needed to be taken down hard.

"We need to take them down hard so they can never harm an innocent person again." she says with steely determination.

A-Bomb is bounding along after his team-mates, leaving a trail of trampled forest behind. He holds the charge of a destructive atomic blast in his hands and keep his eyes peeled.

George Fletcher - Operative
HP: 0 Condition: Fine

There was a time, during the 70’s, when Fletcher wore a mask with his uniform and that mask had built in goggles. Now would’ve been a good time to go back to the old school mask. As he was being whizzed across the space in the arms of one of his much more mobile allies Fletcher struggled to keep both eyes open against the wind and still be on the lookout for anything that might hinder their approach.

One of the benefits of flying this high is that you have a bird's eye view of everything. That, of course, means that everyone with enough daylight on them can see you, and it looks like the Society came prepared. Down below on the riverbed, where you're sure that a trap would have turned up, there is what looks at first to be a building, this time smaller, and made out of the same crystalline material that the massive structure up ahead was made of.

Then it begins to move. It has four massive legs and the main structure seems built around two massive protrusions. It's structure shines in the artificial daylight. And on top of it, is a far smaller figure and one that you remember seeing only a few minutes ago. Dr. Atomic.

A massive blast from the structure stops your progress towards the structure.

That's what the tank looks like. It's too big to show here so just follow the link.
Okay so a couple of things - the tank does not look to be of Braun's design, and given the building material it is likely security for the structure made by whoever built the structure. The energy it's firing at you also looks similar to the energy being put out by the crystalline structure you're heading towards, only this is far more concentrated and designed to hurt everyone. The first shot is just flavor text to let us know we're going to be in combat.
You may respond in IC with your initiative rolls - and everyone's recovered by now - or you may simply post your initiative rolls in OOC.

Operative, you're up first. You have full dodge bonus as I'm assuming your held a bit more loosely than a parachute would let you. The tank IS big enough to land on and you can see other, smaller, things on it (they'll go at the same time the Tank does).
Post your actions. There's jungle, so if it exists in a jungle, you can assume it exists here so use the setting as you desire.

George Fletcher - Operative
HP: 0 Condition: Fine

Fletcher reached for the folded up rifle attached to the small of his back and with a flick of a wrist it was unfolded and fully extended as he took aim at the smaller things running around the structure. “Try to hold me a little steadier.” He called back to his flying ally as he squeezed the trigger and took a shot.

Through the scope of the rifle, he can see the smaller creatures more easily to see them is....disturbing to say the least. They look like humans, but if humans were twisted, their form perverted. Something has been using Israeli soldiers and civilians as fodder (and you can tell because they're still wearing that mode of dress) for whatever changed them. Each creature pulses with the same kind of blue energy you've been watching the crystal in the distance put out.

Operative pulls the trigger and blows out the side of one of the creature's heads, and the form slumps over, apparently dead.

Pele

Pele was angry that the crystal structure and what appeared to be its defenses had been twisted and deformed.

While Operative concentrated on taking out the smaller deformed creatures, she concentrated her fire upon Dr. Atomic.

Ranged attack vs Dr. Atomic = 1d20+13=25 The attack is penetrating and Pele has Precise Attack-Ranged for both Cover and Concealment if it matters.
