I got a few ideas I'm kicking around myself, trying to narrow it down. Currently, I'm looking at possibly making a weather controller, or a djinn.

Two or more Mystics is ok, but we might toss around the "schools of Magic" concept, so their capabilities don't overlap too much.

And, Aerlwyn did present a Mystic earlier. We'll work it out.

Game specifics will be up this afternoon (PL/points/ect.).

Well what I mean is that you can plan all you want, but even when you have lots of authorial control you can still get derailed by what other people do. Or -- lots of times in my case -- by realizing the translation from mental image to words isn't necessarily as smooth as you were hoping.

Great points, Silver. I play more "open-ended" : a fight scene can have whatever outcome occurs. I just run with the action. I'll get deeper on that soon.

Works for me - just mind Alternate Effects (more on that soon).

I have a couple of competing ideas for a high-tech hero. Either powered armor or an android body with
a human mind controlling it...

Actually, I have already changed my mind and will go with a "super soldier" deal, but not exact.

Okay - the " meat " ;

 Gray-Themed : Fantastical, with an air of realism. This is the backdrop for most comics and if anyone needs more depth, just post questions here or PM.

 Modern or DCU or Marvel Universe setting? Those were the front-runners and it may come down to ; do the players want to share the spotlight with established supers? I prefer an alternate Modern Earth with an initial backdrop of Freedom City (ease of use), but again, it's up to the group. BTW, Teen heroes are welcomed, since many comics are based on younger supers learning about their powers, life, and themselves. Extraterrestrials, Extradimensionals, ect. Everyone's welcome, including heroes employed by corporations or governments.

 PL15, Unlimited Points ( meaning you can use as many points as you need to craft your hero BUT the build is still limited by PL15 caps. That means Effect Rank + Attack Bonus cannot exceed 30, total Skill modifier cannot exceed +25, Dodge/Parry + Toughness cannot exceed 30, and Fortitude + Will cannot exceed 30 )

Builds : if there's a question about designing a concept, backstory, or effect, put it to the group or PM me for " Eyes-Only " discussion. Right now I can't think of any Effects that are off-limits, but that could change.
All heroes should have 3+ Complications and heroes with Superpowers should have at least one power-related Complication. Heroes can also have shared Backstories, if some or all players want "instant rapport".

Remember Niche Protection : many comic heroes have power sets fitting MnM Archetypes and skill sets that make them one of the world's best in their particular field. I'm posting this "Builds" piece just to pre-edit your builds, reminding the group balance is important. Work together as you craft the team.

More info to come later - post any questions/comments/suggestions/ect. here or PM me, if necessary.

I tend to enjoy alternate universe, either unique or of pre-existing settings there I don't have to adhere to canon. Marvel over DC, but that's mainly because Marvel has few 'super powers' among the heroic community, at least, it seems that way to me. By this I mean fewer people known more for their solo work than being on a particular team. DC has a slew of solo heroes, and it's harder to size up to the bigger names.

At least, if that's the kind of thing we're going for, being the big fish in the pond such as it were.

Plus I've always liked the more quirky setting of Marvel.

Also, thinking paragon, because I play them so seldom because other people jump all over it.I end up playing energy controllers just to be different, lol.

I may tweak out a former build to PL15, and add.... wait, UNLIMITED PP? Oh jeeze.. lol. I'll try ot keep it reasonable.

Alright, think I found a good idea. I'm going to try to build a Magma Energy controller, so they'd have both fire and earth manipulation abilities. Backstory wise, I'm thinking that she's an alien of some kind, one who's body is made of molten rock rather than skin and bone.

Count me in for a Wonder Woman/Paragon Warrior Analogue that I've been waiting to play.

Unlimited PP? Hooah. :D

Anyway, I'd prefer alternate modern Earth or Marvel. Anyway, time to see what I can do with a non-powered hero at PL 15.
