Looking at the last few post, StoneGhost looks like he could be a good leader, if hazy wants the job. If not, you don't seems like the kind of GM where a GMPC is a problem, so I'm fine with either Cold Steel or a GMPC.

Well, that is not the problem, its the fact that Protean or anybody else suddenly be the leader in mid stride of the ongoing campaign. I only made the suggestion if it helps move the story along but it won't make any kind of sense if i just took over for no reason once the campaign gets underway.

Well, that's not that big of a problem if a player take up leadership. My suggestion: Mindforce realize is not up to a leadership position, so for the remainder of the mission he gratefully lets Protean or whoever take control of the squad unofficially, then after the mission, Major White officially appoint a new leader. The only problem with a GMPC right now is that, well, he would need a real good in-story explanation to just show up out of nowhere.

So, whats it going to be then? Protean can be leader for the current mission only if the current one is not interested then it would be GM run.

See what happens when I go away for a couple of hours? :)

I'm up for it. I even took Leadership. Sure it was mostly so I could just yell at people and make them feel better but hey. I'll rock paper scissors for it if you want. I'm not a brilliant strategist* so if someone feels especially skilled at positioning the troops they can run this one through.
My downside is that I can't usually post during the daytime EST as that whole work thing kind of keeps me busy. Evening/Night and weekends are best so reacting to requests or reactions might be a little slower than you want?

*unless you consider throwing a rock at something brilliant strategy

Erm, I was looking a Telepathy's description in Ultimate Power and I'm not 100% sure if ESPer can do what Cold Steel want him to do. Mental Communication is extended range, so no problem there, but it's also 1-way only. I can use Mind Reading to get the answer, but it's perception range so I can't activate it without seeing StoneGhost. However, Telepathy is Concentration(Lasting) duration, so my understanding is that ESPer can activates Telepathy on StoneGhost now and keep it actives as long as I maintain it and that hazy doesn't succeed on a will check against my power check, even if Stoneghost moves out of perception range, is that correct?

Technically, Mental Communication is 2 way, but only willing communication. They did clarify some of this in 3E, with the Mental Powers profile, saying it was possible to do this.

How high are the ceilings here?
Another mention / reminder is that I have permeate not insubstantial.
Another thing is a correction to character sheet that I had discussed with badpenny but forgot to update on my sheet. No attack w/ permeate. Instead I have partial visual concealment.

I need to know who's going to step up to the leader position. We can't have two people giving orders.

And it looks like Mind-Force is our first casualty, too.

I am good with StoneGhost being the leader.

Things have gotten quiet because... well a few reasons.

I'm thinking we need to get everything settled first. I am sad about casualties but I've been one before so I accept it.

Cold Steel can run with the leadership. I liked his first plan and I honestly hadn't thought of Esper's abilities at all. I'll take second in command after that if he gets incapacitated somewhere during the run. If everyone is cool with that we can get back to the game. As much as we need a leader I think everyone needs to remember to speak their mind about major actions. If you think you've got a better plan it's a good idea to speak up. The game will lose its fun if you just spend your time acting out someone else's every direction while grumbling under your breath. Though grumbling under your breath in character can be kinda fun.

Mindforce has gone quiet so badpenny can make a decision on best action for that. We all make a mental shrug and carry on until such time as something truly awful happens to his character?

All I want to know is if we are in a high ceiling area 15-20' or a regular 8-10' ceiling hallway.

I have no problem making retcons, especially this early in the game.
