Freedom's Avengers: Earth's Unlikeliest Heroes OOC

Postby American_Patriot » Sun Jul 29, 2012 6:28 pm

"There once was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people. People with meta-human capabilities or exceptional skill-sets, so that whenever our nation, or our world, had a desperate needed for them… that they would then be able to fight the kind of battles that ordinary men & women just never could fight alone. And then there came a day, a day unlike any other... in fact it was a Tuesday, when the Earth's Unlikeliest Heroes found themselves thrown together to fight against a common threat to all of creation, and now they stand together to fight the kind of foes that no single superhero could withstand by themselves. And it was on that day, that Freedom's Avengers were born."

Now, everyone in Freedom City knows all about the premiere team of champions that calls Freedom City Home, the aptly named "Freedom League." But not that many of their hometown's citizens know about the much more blue-collar type of 'heroes' that make-up a small team of meta-humans that are for the most part… is known as "Freedom's Avengers."

The team is made up of a 'disgruntled' veteran (American Patriot), an Olympian Demi-God cab driver (Thunderer, Son of Zeus), a black leather-clad vigilante (Woman in Black), a former member of a defunct team of meta-human martial artists (Red Ranger), a bright red-skinned mistress of electro-magnetism (Zap, Mistress of Electro-Magnetism) and a young teleporter (Warp). Their individuality and the personal issues that propelled them to use their meta-human gifts to put themselves into harm's way would normally indicate that they would ever be able to work together as a team. Especially, since they have not elected an official team leader.

But together, they are a group that is seen more as being examples of working-class type meta-humans who are out to do the right thing any way that they can... and don't really care how they look while doing it, or who actually gets the credit for what they are doing. And several members of the Freedom's Avengers are quite camera shy, and do everything they can to avoid the press.

The group was brought together by an extra-dimensional being that called itself the Norn, during a Crisis that crossed the dimensions when Omega planned on destroying all of reality... and in the words of one member of the team, "We have no idea why she chose us... and if we ever find out what she was smoking when she did, we'd make a fortune selling the stuff."

Since none of the team is anything close to being well-off, Freedom's Avengers does not have an endless supply of resources that provides them with a headquarters, vehicles or specialty gadgets... and they have to make do with surplus gear that they have been given as 'donations' from AEGIS in return for Freedom's Avengers being 'on-call' to deal with things that other, more well-established, teams just aren't willing to deal with.

But the eclectic team has developed what could be called a cult following of dedicated fans that has provided them with a few perks, such as a local Shawarma restaurant (Shawarma Café, Grill & Falafel) and a local bar (Ye Ole Freedom Pub) that has declared that the members of Freedom's Avengers are able to frequent their establishments with their tabs being comped by the owners themselves. Fortunately, the members of Freedom's Avengers are not the type to abuse the complimentary services of these establishments… that has actually added to their cult status.

And this is their story…

Personality & Motivations: MSG Nathaniel Hale Spaight is an American patriot, who is dedicated to doing the right thing... after becoming a meta-Human super-soldier he saw the responsibilities that his new status had brought with it, and sees it as a way to serve his country and its people once more.
Powers & Tactics: The American Patriot (MSG Nathaniel Hale Spaight) is considered a very gifted tactician & strategist, a knowledgeable historian, and a freelance writer & graphic artist of some skill. His greatest asset was how he had excelled in his US Army Ranger Combat training, and this has made him an excellent hand-to-hand combatant and field commander.
Costume Description: The American Patriot's costume consists of a reinforced dark blue combat shirt with a white star in the center of his chest and a red and white vertical striped band around his abdomen with built in pouches that blend into the stripes, a pair of reinforced dark red combat boots, a pair of reinforced dark red combat gloves, a pair of reinforced white combat pants, a triangular shaped shield.
Normal Civilian Attire: Nathaniel Hale Spaight wears a black & gold ballcap, a pair of silver eyeglasses, a pair of dog tags with silencers & stainless steel religious symbols (a Star of David, an Orthodox Cross & a Star and Crescent), a black 5.11 tactical rapid assault shirt, a pair of stone gray 5.11 tactical cargo pants, a pair of cushion soled socks, a pair of black 5.11 tactical boots, a black knee & ankle brace on his right leg that squeaks with each step.

Complications: Astigmatism (Suffers from a -3 penalty to ranged attacks w/o his corrective lenses), Fame (As the American Patriot, Nathaniel is seen as a symbol of the United States and its policies both at home and abroad, but he is known for his fearless vocal opposition to those policies that he disagrees with… and as equally vocal about those he supports; very common/major), Guilt (Nathaniel carries a great deal of guilt around with him, that at times cause him to fall into a melancholy funk... especially when reminded of his step-son and son, and the fact that his ex-wife will not even allow him to even talk to them. Forcing him to keep extensive journals that he writes to them with the hope and desire that it will allow them to get to know him and that he can pass on the life lessons that he had to learn the hard way. He refers to these private journals as "All of my knowledge, and none of my failures or faults, so that he will not follow in my footsteps… but become the man I know he will become."; very common/moderate), Honorable (Nathaniel is an exceptionally honorable, and constantly attempts to be the best man possible… something that he feels that he has not been the best at in the past), Responsibility (To His God, His Children and His Country; very common/major), Low Social Status: Southern Blue-collar Background (Nathaniel has a thick southern accent that many mistake as a Texan on, he grew up in a poor yet proud family that learned very quickly to make do with what little they had.. and to adapt to bad situations so that they can overcome whatever adversity would come their way; uncommon/minor), Recurring Nightmares: PTSD (Has dreams about the Iraqi people standing up for freedom, and the fact that the US Armed Forces were forced to stand by and watched as they were butchered… in his nightmares, it’s not the faces of the Iraqi civilians… but those his own loved ones, families & friends; uncommon/moderate), Secret Identity (Nathaniel is quite protective of his identity so that he can protect his step-son and son from any possible threat that could be made against them, his identity is only known by selected members of the Executive Branch and the highest levels of AEGIS; very common/major), Veterans Administration Compensation & Pension check just does not go that far every month (Nathaniel has to make due on his monthly VA C&P check & stipend from Social Security Disability to cover rent, utilities and other costs in a community that he has not completely been assimilated too; very common/major).

Battle Cry: "For the Republic!"
Quotes: "One's life must mean more than any one single thing, but one should always have at least one single thing that they are willing to die for."
"I am a simple man, with simple tastes… while I can respect and admire amazingly complicated things, I prefer to keep things as simple as possible so that anyone can understand it."
"I am no hero… I am a soldier, a super-soldier, who fights for the ideals that this Republic was founded upon. You know, a small government that doesn’t get involved in your personal life… that doesn't interfere in what you are doing unless what you are doing is hurting someone else or oppressing them… that is what the Federal Government is supposed to be there for. That is why the Constitution only put limits on what the government was able to do for a reason… because, it is only when the government is limited and restrained, does Freedom truly exist."

You should do a thread on the Settings board with all that information you did in the last thread.

Thunderer

“Where to, mac?”
Yeah, I know it's a cliché. People expect cliches in Freedom City. Especially people who look tourist-y. This guy was probably from Florida or something, as I saw it. He hopped in the back and asked to be taken across town to some hole-in-the-wall restaurant on the west side. Greektown. I started up the meter and pulled into traffic.
“Some weather we're havin', huh?” I said, nodding my head towards the rain-soaked businesspeople rushing to and fro under the downtown awnings.
“Son, you don't know the half of it,” The old man chuckled. “Haven't seen it like this in well over a hundred years.”
I didn't flinch. You get these in Freedom City, too. Lunatics. All shapes and sizes. I once had a woman in my hack who... Ah, you don't wanna know.
“You Hank Taylor?”
I nodded, “S'what it says on the license.”
“Hank Taylor from Peoria?”
I winced. Only thing worse than a lunatic in Freedom is a psychic lunatic in Freedom.
“Yeah, came here when I was eight, though.”
“It was kinda hard finding you. I've learned that perseverance will get you through, though. Fortunately, I've got a lot of time.”
There was a long pause as I pushed through a yellow light. Guy was starting to give me the creeps. I focused on the road ahead and the off-tempo of my wiper blades.
“You're not gonna ask why I was looking for you?”
“Nope.”
“Could be something good, you know. You could've inherited something.”
I chuckled, “I couldn't be that lucky. But I'll humor you. Why were you looking for me?”
“I'm your father.”
I didn't flinch. Psychic loonie could rant all he wanted. I once had a psychic -plant- of all things in my cab, and he... She? Whatever... Anyway...
“I see you don't believe me.”
“Oh, no I believe you all right.” Best to humor the metahumans. Besides, humoring gets tips.
“Good. Y'see, this world's gonna need your help soon, and I figured you should at least be armed for the job.”
I winced again. A metahuman psychic con man. Wonderful.
“Here. This is for you.”
I looked in the rear-view mirror and saw him holding up a ragged-looking tan jacket. “I know it doesn't look like much,” he said, “But it'll see you through the scrapes.”
“Thanks. Just what I always wanted.”
His eyes flashed blue, “Don't get sass with me, son. I don't have to do this. Daedalus and his 'friends' might be good enough.”
That's when I stopped. People can mess with me, but no one bad-mouths the League.
“Right. We're here.” Thankfully, we were. “That's forty bucks...”
I turned. The old man was gone. The jacket was still there. I sighed. Stiffed. Wonderful.
That night when I was ending my shift, I still had the jacket, now in the front seat with me. On a lark I tried it on. It fit surprisingly well. I got out of the cab and stretched a little. Me. A metahuman. Son of some crazy old man. Sure.
I lifted my cab. Effortlessly.
“Crap.”

Henry 'Hank' Taylor was born in Peoria to Jacosta and Will Taylor. His home life with his brother Jay was uneventful until age eight, when, for reasons Hank never learned (although he certainly now suspects) his parents split up. Messily. In the middle of the night.
A bus-ride later and Hank, Jacosta, and Jay were in Freedom City. Hank took to the place like a fish to water; he loved the city and everything about it. By age 12, he could recite minutae about the city history that would bore most adults. By 14, he'd earned enough money with his extracurricular activities (recycling, paper-routes, and the like) to get the occasional tickets to see the Freedom City Comets play. It proved to him that hard work meant something, and it was a philosophy that stuck by him.
Unfortunately, karma isn't always fair. When Hank was 15, his 18-year-old brother got hit by a bus. It wasn't even a cross-the-street accident. It was thrown.
Freedom city has it's share of crazies, and at that moment, the Freedom League was fighting one of them. The name 'Black Star' became indelibly written in Hank's mind, as did 'mangled' and 'coma'.
Jocasta fell apart afterwords, and Hank soon found himself scrambling for work with a forged drivers' license, doing whatever he could to keep the medical bills in check and the rent paid. In the height of things, he was working four jobs at a time, and barely sleeping. Finally, though, he caught a break. Or rather, a break-in.
Coming home at 2 AM from late night bussing tables, Hank saw two hoodlums trying to jack a car from a lot, and, in a moment that he still isn't quite clear on the motivation for, stood them down, despite them having crowbars and he having only a dirty apron. Still, he had been seen doing it by the approaching owner of the car, a mister Franks, who was owner of one of the city's cab companies. Mr. Franks took Hank out for a late-night burger in thanks, and learned Hank's story. In gratitude and understanding, Franks made a deal with Hank; a job at the company, driving once he had a legal license, and Mr. Franks would do what he could to look after Jay's medical bills.
In the ensuing years, Hank has become something of an icon in the hack community, always with stranger and stranger stories about his fares. He goes to visit his brother, still comatose in the hospital, every few days. His mother has recovered her balance, and works downtown as a secretary. For a year and a half, Hank was married, but it just didn't work out. He and his ex, Wendy, are still cordial, but not friendly.
Of course, everything changed once again the day the old man got into the back seat of Hank's cab...

Hank Taylor. Yeah, just Hank Taylor.

BACKGROUND
Xerxes is a Theology student who settled on the major more because he enjoyed arguing than because of a vested nature in the subject. On his own, he's very much a live-and-let-live kind of guy. For the last few years, he's been studying Capoeira and has found that the philosophy of the style greatly appealed to him. He applied for the Ranger program, not so much for philosophical reasons as that he'd come to realize that his major probably won't guarantee him much of an income. After a brief tenure helping to fight the foes of the corporation, it folded, leaving its operatives to find other jobs. Xerxes returned to finishing his degree, but found that whatever process they'd used to instill the Ranger powers in him had become ingrained within him, summoned to the surface with just touch to the gem they had embedded in his wrist.

Resigned to the fact that eventually, his background would come to roost, he emigrated to Freedom City. Shortly thereafter, he responded to a burglary at Paradise Casino, and subsequently got roped into saving the multiverse from Omega, hopping from world to world to defuse "cosmic bombs" set to weaken the bonds of the universe or something ridiculous like that. Truth told, some of the aspects of it are somewhat blurry. Xerxes has two completely separate memories of the Paradise casino burglary, one involving them easily steamrolling the villains and one where the villains were much better prepared and had not only rigged multiple traps for incoming heroes, but also had booby-trapped hostages. That one didn't turn out as well. In either case, they immediately got whisked off to Erde, a world where the Nazis won.

Erde was depressing, but he felt better knowing that Doc Tomorrow had perfected his noburpuline formula, and therefore there was a chance of the Resistance winning back their country. Sure, there were all of the non-brain-jar forces to deal with, but surely they'd figure it out... Earth-Ape had been completely bizarre, although actually kind of fun. He'd never expected to find a world where Capoeira was so wide-spread and he'd actually kind of enjoyed his time as an ourangatan due to the De-Evolver Ray's effect. Anti-Earth... the less said, the better. Xerxes had met his counterpart, a mechanical monstrosity, and found that he enjoyed the beat-down just a little too much. The rest of the world... it was simply depressing. Widespread crime and corruption and there just seemed to be a cancer at the heart of the souls of the inhabitants. Fighting an alternate version of the Freedom League was just plain weird and Xerxes was frankly amazed that they'd managed to pull through the battle, a situation where he had to give American Patriot credit for tactics. Lastly, they'd fought Omega.

That wasn't something that Xerxes had ever thought possible. Omega was the bogeyman, the creature which had smashed through much of Freedom City and killed Centurion. You didn't fight Omega... you tried to stay out of his way and hoped that he'd go away. Still, that's what it came down to. When Omega appeared, Xerxes found himself moving, almost outside of his own will. A mad dash across the park was followed by crazy acrobatics as he kept one step, and barely one step, ahead of Omega's blasts. But it was enough to keep the conqueror occupied, to distract him from innocent targets, and later distracting him for a few crucial moments as the cosmic detonator rod drove into Omega's unprotected back and he vanished in a flash of black light.

It had been a whirlwind of activity since then. American Patriot had stepped forward as spokesperson for their impromptu team, and announced the creation of something named "Freedom's Avengers". Xerxes recognized in the statement of the team-to-be a chance, much like with Ranger Corp, to get free board and a stipend for a bit of work. Plus, as loathe as he was to admit it, he kind of liked being a hero. He'd settled into his new quarters, and waited for the next time of crisis to come up. Meanwhile, a local capoeira school, an extension of the ASCAB system, had opened in downtown Freedom City. Xerxes trained there under his civilian identity and found a perverse sort of thrill at hearing discussions of who the mystery capoeiristra was who'd joined Freedom's Avengers, although he also heard more criticism of his technique than he'd heard in some time. This redoubled his desire to sharpen his skills outside of his costume and he was looking forward to testing at the school's first batizado later in the year. Previously stuck at the level of Intermediario and a blue belt, he felt his combat experiences had boosted his skills high enough to test for the privelege to actually teach, and not just assist in classes. He's also decided to broaden his studies now that he has such a range of resources through the databases granted from the Freedom League. With a broad, if trivial, range of interests, he's become quite adept at remembering little bits of information relevant to the situation.

PERSONALITY
Phlegmatic to the extreme. Oddly tense and rigid for a capoeiristra, but within the roda, or in the rare times he's gotten into fights, he becomes relaxed, able to easily dazzle people with his acrobatics and then strike from an opportune position.

COMPLICATIONS
* Argumentative - Xerxes was a contrary child. The academic atmosphere hasn't helped. He'll argue a point just because he wants to try a different point of view. And when someone tries to argue from authority, he's automatically opposed. When they try to appeal from false authority ("I'm a doctor, so I know all about building construction"), it takes a crowbar to peel him away from trying to prove them wrong.
* Reckless - Like many empowered people who started out normal, Xerxes has a slightly inflated sense of his durability and he will often leap before he looks, getting himself in over his head.
* Legacy - Xerxes never really got a chance to learn much about what the Power Rangers stood for. Ranger Corp was attacked before the capabilities and limitations of the "morphing process" could be explained and as far as Xerxes knows, the Power Rangers haven't re-established a public presence. For all he knows, he may have inherited their enemies, the suit may be weakened by exposure to tungsten, or there may be a collection agency in pursuit of him, hoping to regain the suit.
* Lone Ranger - Xerxes isn't great at teamwork. He'd just become part of the Power Rangers before the attack and since then, he's been on his own. Combined with his Argumentative nature, that makes him very much the person who, when asked to jump, may decide he wants to ask why, or jump in another direction, or simply do what he feels is right.

APPEARANCE
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 183 lbs
Build: Slender, slightly elongated. He keeps in good shape, maintaining a fair amount of muscle on his frame without being bulky.
Hair: Blonde, almost white, generally kept close-cropped.
Eyes: Blue, generally somewhat unfocused, but when he gets passionate, they have a tendency to be uncomfortably focused on the subject of his gaze.

His costume was previously a red spandex-like material with full mask in the model of the Power Rangers. Over the course of traipsing through the multiverse, Xerxes learned to alter his costume somewhat. Currently, he wears capoeira pants cinched with a red belt, meaningless in terms of traditional rankings in Regional, and a loose t-shirt with red hand-guards and foot-guards, unnecessary for his actual protection, but decorative. His face is covered by a domino mask which, oddly enough, conceals his identity very well despite its spare coverage.

------

Quick summary of changes:
Moved 4 ability points each from enhanced to base on strength and constitution to bring Xerxes as normal identity up to PL 6 on attack and defense.
Added 4 ability points into base ability intelligence
Added Eidetic Memory and Conspiracy Theorist to Xerxes's feats
Added Quick Change 2 and Takedown Attack 1 to the Enhanced Feats
Added Disguise 8 to the suit flawed to only be useable with the Quick Change ability and only on himself (mainly this is so that he has a snowball's chance of getting away with trying to look a bit different in costume even if his basic physiology doesn't change much).

Edit: I forgot about the Shared HQ costs. Removed 2 points of Intelligence, added the Equipment point, and then 4 ranks of enhancement to Sense Motive when in the Ranger suit (physiology scan readout).

Though her color style changes throughout the year, depening on the season, one thing remains constant. cheongsam and matching half-mask. Shown here (not matching :()

Real Name: Summer Long
Code Name: Hex Mistress
Age: 42 (looks 21)
Height 1.5m
Weight: 42.7kg

Summer was a miracle of sorts. Her mother made a bargin with a fae prince of Arcadia. If she were to have at least one child she would be in his debt. Let it be said, "never make such an offer to any fae, much less one with power." Her mother, while barren, carried the prince's child. Conceived on the summer solstice and born on the winter solstice, Summer was a tiny baby who they didn't expect to live. Though her mother knew that the fae prince would not let his end of the bargin fail. What she didn't know is that princes change by season. In the spring and summer, they are seelie. In the autumn and winter they are unseelie. A month after Summer was born, the prince arrived and made his plans known. He would take the child during the winter and spring months, so Summer could see the fair and foul of her kin. The mother's tears did not stop him as fae, both seelie and unseelie are oathbound.

So Summer was taken, year after year. She she learned to love the realm of Arcadia as her home, but she also accepted the banality of her Earth home too. Every time she would come to Arcadia she would live through six months of pure fantasy. She knew the traditions of the land, some through tale and some through direct experience! Magic was in her blood, but it was very hard to learn seeing as she was half-mortal. Dark magic was easier to learn and thus she picked it up quicker. Her father taught it to her in the winter, but in the spring he warned her of the impending danger of relying on it for her every day life. He taught her to use her great power with great responsibility! Everytime she would go back to Earth, she would balance her surreal time in Arcadia with some cold reality. She had mortal friends. She was entertained by mortals. She enjoyed the mortal life. That all changed in 2002.

That summer saw the destruction of many worlds in the multiverse. Her world was one of them. Luckily, her father spirited her away in time. She watched as many many earth realms fell. She felt so very small in the scheme of things. While her father comforted her it did not end the agony of lsong half her life. Though one Earth stood up to the threat of anhilation. One earth where beings were more than normal. Their earth had a champion that sacrificed his life to save it. She wished to be part of such a heroic world. One where she could use her power for the greater good. Her father got in contact with Adrian Eldrich. The Master Mage listened to Summer's plight. Seeing as she was human, she wasn't breaking the Pact. Eldrich put her on probation and said her visits to Arcadia would have to stop. Her father wanted her to be happy. He said to give a summon once a season and he would be appeased.

For the past ten years she's been doing her hero thing in Freedom City. She's made a few wise investments over the years and has become an independently wealthy socialite, a rags to riches story that the media loves to dig through. Though when they found out her secret identity, rather than hide away, she embraced being a public identity hero.

So, what are we doing here? Just showing off what we're doing at 02:30? Is there a meeting that's supposed to be happening now?

At the moment, everyne needs to post what they've been doing since the end of "Time of Crisis"... and then arriving at the headquarters around 1300 (1pm) for the meeting that AP is calling, his words when calling everyone in was, "Listen guys, we've got to meet asap... the government is assigning us a liaison who i have heard HATES costumed vigiliantes... and every time he's been assigned to 'observe' any team. He's tried to force them to reveal their civilian identies to him and my extension the government. The lawyer who has donated her time said taht we need to sign a prelimiinary charter & by-laws that states our team will not force anyone to surrender their civilian identies."

"And to answer Thunderer's question... yes, all the movies that were flimed here are indeed in the DVD movie collection. And no, you can't watch them on the supper sized flat screen TV in the entertainment & media room."

Hm, Hex Mistress was not a part of Time of Crisis. Also, she has a code name and costume, but as the story says, her identity is publicly known.

I guess I should set up how she came to interact with the crew and get invited in. Any suggestions form the peanut gallery?

I think some of it might depend on how we want to handle Zap being currently on reserve (did she get injured in the final battle? Before? Is she just taking time off?).

Also, you've established that Hex Mistress is from Arcadia and was inspired by the events of 2002 (I'm guessing that this would be the Terminus invasion) and has been in operation for the last 10 years (immediate question, did Arcadia survive the Time of Crisis? The prepackaged adventure notes that even with all of the bombs defused, The Muse may not have successfully saved all worlds). Perhaps, since her reason for joining this Earth was the Terminus, she noted the team's success against Omega and has decided they would make powerful allies? Alternately, she could have fixated on a single member of the group, possibly romantically. Or possibly she just noted the odd mix of personalities and the fact that the team has been pulled into improbable danger once and may do so again, and joined for novelty. *shrug* I think a lot of it comes down to what you feel motivates your character.

:o This brings me to a question. How long ago was Time of Crisis?

^_^ My impression is that it's been a very short amount of time, maybe a month or so. It wouldn't be a bad idea to clarify the matter, though.

It's been just over a week and half since the Time of Crisis... the Freedom's Avengers got their name from the citizens themselves. the Freedom League felt very guilty by the public outpouring of support for our plucky blue-collar heroes. and saw the benefit of quietly supporting the creation of a team that would be focused on Freedom City and the surrounding area, especially snce thhey've been dealing with Global threats.

In fact the biggest movers behind setting up the non-profit foundation that is supporting the group was set up by Daedalus (who provided both his money, and got several companies to publically donate money & resources to the team), the original Raven (Duncan Summers knew about Collins Glenn and pulled strings to allow for Daedalus to purchase the estate from the FCPD during a 'public' auction, and was able to get the Mayor have the FCPD to publically 'donate' the estate for the team). Lady Liberty in her civilian Identity has been providing legal advice (always over the phone, she's made sure not to meet with American Patriot in person due to his abilty to ID people by scent).

During this week and half, small stands and bodagas have started to sale bootleged posters of the members of the Freedom's Avengers...

yes, Zap is on reserve status... dealing with personal issues that poped up during the aftermath of "Time of Crisis" and asked to only be called upon in major emergencies.

We were thinking that Hex Mistress was part of the 'Cavalry' that had helped Freedom's Avengers to defeat Omega.

American Patriot has been jumping through all the hoops to get everything done so that the Freedom's Avengers can be a real team.... he and Thunderer discovered the hidden door of the Headquarters fully stocked wine-cellar, that led them to a major stash of some of the best beer in the world... and the copies of every movie that was ever filmed at the estate.

American Patriot felt it wise that none of these movies be viewed on the huge full wall TV flat screen in the media room... especially since Back Door Sluts XI (the most awesome and raunchy porn movie ever made... yes another Southpark reverence) is among the massive DVD movie collection (which also has nearly every movie released on DVD/Blu-Ray rated from G to XXXXXXX - God you're a pervie rating).

American Partiot loathes paperwork. and he's stuck doing so much paperwork he's constantly muttering 'I hate you guys, i really hate you guys.' when anyone asks him if he's seen something happening on TV or the news...

The Butler and Housekeeper has arrived at the heaquarters and were given the rooms in the basement near the garage & side entrance since they have their own entrance/exit as part of their quarters.

the housekeeper & Cook has very politely asked everyone to submit a list of foods they like, and another that they don't like so that she can make sure tehy are either on the menu or left off. She also has a habit of slapping hands that try to snatch food as it's being prepared.

even though the butler walks with a limp and at times a cane, he's extremely stealthy and has a habit of scaring people by clearing his throat to anouce his prescnce.

the Estate has TWO trophy rooms. one for public consumption full of replicas of nasty powerful gagdget, and the real one that is hidden in the areas of the mansion that no one knows about.

I am 1/3 of the way of getting the floorplan of the mansion done.

living quarters/suites are composed of a bedroom, a sitting room, a walk-in-closet & bathroom. there is room enough for all the active team membership to live there and have a few suites for guests.

The headquarters has a communications system & computer that was donated by the League viva cut-outs. Problem is that this is their older equipment that they replaced when they went global. none of the Freedom's Avengers know that this has given the League the ability to 'easedrop' on them.

also the members of the League are 'Vetting' the members of Freedom's Avengers. ie, they have been watchin what they are doing since the end of Time of Crisis. all from the fact the FA started operating out of a hotel room at a "Motel 6" before they discovered that there was a 'grassroots' swell of support that created a non-profit foundation to fund them, and getting them a headquarters.

Thunderer has been driving his cab, and when AP offered him the living quarters over the garage... he was in seventh heaven. especially when he discovered the maintaince garage hidden in the sub-basement. And the crates of 130 year old whiskey...

Woman in Black has two new vehicles she's gonna love. a sky-cycle and new motorcycle.

Red Ranger has a small dojo he can work out in...

So Time of Crisis ended with a straight up brawl with Omega? Damn straight she joined in on that! She's not rich like Gates, but if you have the Freedom City setting, she's most likely in the spot for number 20 on page 61. Aftermath of Time of Crisis she could have set up the crew with some accommodations. She took a shine to one of the members and hasn't came out with it yet. There is the thing of her learning that her second home is dead. She returns there every solstice and equinox to stay for a while. She won't know until September 22. As for what she's been doing for the past week and a half, most likely getting to know the group personally. Another question. Secret identities. Does the group know each other by name or by code name?
