The World Of Shadows: FORCE Ops/Freedom League Crossover: IC

Post by Tattooedman »

Freedom League and FORCE Ops: Sea-King manages to catch Vindicator’s attention and she quickly catches on to his silent message. She then quickly relays the news to Dovetail and the rest of FORCE Ops that the Freedom League has somehow came to this twisted, dark place.

The patrol of “knights”, along with their transport, continue to move along on their way none the wiser of either team’s presence in the area, allowing the two teams of heroes to cautiously meet up once all of FORCE Ops has caught up to Vindicator, Mr. Magnificent and Rookie’s position at the edge of Liberty Park.

Before any formal introductions can be made between the large group it is decided that everyone needs to move deeper into Liberty Park where it is less likely anyone of the thirteen gathered heroes will have to worry about being spotted by anyone, or anything else that might be on the look out for them for the moment.

Warshade makes sure to keep an eye out for more of the visual markers that would lead to the resistance while Dovetail and Sea-King choose a location that both of them are sure will provide enough natural cover for the large group of heroes which brings everyone to Heroes’ Knoll, which oddly enough looks to have been somewhat spared the devastation everyone has come to expect from this place; it’s clear some fighting has taken place here, with several of the statues and tombstones showing signs of damage, but it is only a fraction when compared to the rest of the city seen so far. And it is at this almost revered site that Freedom City's two teams of heroes finally find a moment of peace long enough to regain their bearings and talk without a looming threat bearing down upon them.

Danny was a little disappointed. When Vindicator said Freedom League, Danny had thought... well the real League, not this new annex. Oh well, at least there was no chance of him asking for autographs, not that his autograph book was even in this dimension.

At any rate, he watched Dovetail and waited for her to deal with the situation.

Vindicator

While shed been trying to "see" what was behind the duck blind Eva had gotten a bit of a shock in a handsome head sticking up out of it that shed registeres as Sea King. Shed taken a moment to consider whether she was looking at a very elaborate trap, and then made a reasonable deduction that in this environment the enemy would be less likely to use such tactics overwhelming assault with superior numbers seemed to be their modus operandi. So she flew down and voila The Entire Freedom league. A quick report to Dvoe Tail and soon the entire band was together.

Eva in the meanwhile spent her time detailing information about the anomaly and their knight opponents to the league. Making sure the team was up to date on their warrior opponents tactics and armor and weapons.

Stars Fire

For James meeting Vindicator was interesting. She was smart, VERY SMART. The way she explained things made his head hurt and only Sypharas presence helped ease some of it. Still he was used to Aurora his genius girlfriend and so he adjusted and just rolled with it as she explained about some knights with funky armor and weapons and a penchant for dismembering people.

Syphara was of course listening and helping him Catalogue those strengths and weaknesses but all the while the Ancient Alien was on edge as if waiting for something.

James didnt really get what was going on, Until...She came in.

Now James had been around Aurora long enough to know a warshade on sight, so when Liz walked into the "duckblind" she didnt even need to Introduce herself. James could see the dark energy coursing through her very being, almost as certainly as she could see the bright energy flowing through his.

"Syphara you ok?" it was a testament to the situaton that James didnt use his favored nickname for the Kheldian.

N'Tu was all the ancient alien said and James couldnt get any more out of him.

Turing to Warshade James gave Liz a warm and welcoming smile and a friendly nod of the head as the group decided to move to safer digs.

Rex Mundi
Satus: Fatigued(Hindered) HP:3

Running into the Freedom League seemed like a big deal to a lot of the others. To be honest he'd barely heard too much of the new guys, mostly due to spending so much time overseas.

Though his original plan had been to join up with a superhero team and try to move up to the Freedom League, he didn't feel to much like trying to impress them at the moment. At the moment the surroundings were just too oppressive, and he was more than a little tired. He'd ran all the way to the Anders building then to a mall, and been doing nothing but run ever since.

He did a quick scout around the area to make sure that nothing was going to pop out at them, then made his way back to the graveyard and found a spot to sit down against a sturdy looking grave to "catch his breath".

"So, what's a nice group like you doing in a place like this?"

Harlequin
HP: 1 / LP: 3

"Figuring out what we did wrong." Harlequin remarked, self-deprecatingly. "We were just responding to an emergency at the Museum, several individuals with magic and odd crowns had attacked... they were looking for something. We had to split up to save the hostages, but either way, we were having a difficult fight... and they apparently found what they were looking for - moments later, baaam! We're here in Near-Ghost City. You guys?"
Impeach the peach!

Satus: Fatigued(Hindered) HP:3

"Hostage situation in a mall. Those knights you saw earlier. The people they couldn't march through the portal were killed," Rex lets out a sad sigh, "We kicked their ass then we came on through to find anybody who'd already gone through and to shut down the portal."

"Except once we stepped through the portal shut."

Rex shrugged, "First day and already marooned in an alternate dimension. Second day is going to have a lot to live up to, first day set the bar pretty high."

Sally Salvage

Sally grinned 'ear to ear and around the other side', "Wow! FORCE Ops. You guys are so cool! Can I get your autographs?" she reaches quite literally into herself and bringing out pen and a burger wrapper.

She happily starts rattling off inanities about what is publicly (and possibly in the classified files) about the FORCE Ops team and the members.

Finally she comes to Rookie. "I..." something inside of her whrrrrs, "I don't know who you are." she sounds sad, "But I'd like to." and shoves out the pad and pen.

It takes her a moment, her metallic brow furrowing, "Are we sure that we're all from the same version of the world? While I doubt that any of us are from anywhere as extreme as Earth-C, it logically stands that there may be a plurality of dimensions involved."

Otakumon
Thomas Kirby

"That may be putting the cart before the horse, Sally.", Thomas answered with a small smile. "For now, let's operate on the assumption we're all from the same continuity." He turns to Dovetail and offers his hand. "I'm Otakumon. My teammates, Prince Marcus of Atlantis, Avatar, Harlequin,Stars Fire, Apocrypha, and Sally Salvage.", he says, indicating each Leaguer in turn. "Your team came through a portal? How long have you been 'here'?"

"Thirty minutes 25 seconds, since we entered the anomoly."" Eva answered quickly "And I can say with certainty we are all from the same continuity." she said her voice holding not a shred of doubt.

Tony nodded to FORCE Ops in greeting shaking hands with those that would.

"Earlier we were discussing heading for Freedom Hall. Given that we're a rather large group now, that's one place where we won't stick out-assuming we can get to it without running into trouble."

Warshade
HP: 5 LP: 0
Condition: Injured 2, Fatigued

"We can make contact with the AEGIS resistance somewhere in the park in a few minutes. That will be safer and less conspicuous than Freedom Hall."

With her goggles down, the Freedom League put out energy at a staggering rate. And at some spectacular frequencies and wavelengths. One of the first things Liz noticed was the Peacebringer. Which made her quite nervous. She returned his smile nervously and kept her distance. Who's that 'Tu?

SYPHARA. HE'S OK

You sure about that?

AS SURE AS I CAN BE. I'VE WORKED WITH HIM BEFORE

That's comforting. I'll just stay over here.

"I don't think we can assume anything just yet." Liz made sure it was recording because the volume was just overwhelming. And that didn't even include the incredibly handsome Prince of Atlantis. "But I've got an idea to figure it out if we're from the same place." She approached Marcus and raised her goggles, blushing slightly (and somewhat relieved Jason wasn't around to see her giddy). "Marcus, um... your highness, who is the only non-Atlantean to be awarded an Orichalcum sword?"

"No assumptions required, we all share the same dimensional resonance." Eva offered cooly as she tapped her eye piece where she had alrleady confirmed her findings with a multi phasic dimensional scanner. A simple comparison of dimensional wavelengths with their own was enough to insure she was correct. "A simple multiphasic scan confirms it."

Vanguard (Rex Mundi)
Satus: Fatigued(Hindered) HP:3

"Uh, yeah. Sorry, I'm kind of new," He looked at the paper for a minute not sure what to write down.

He honestly wanted nothing to do with names relating back to the true nature of his powers, secrecy was the buzzword at the moment. And every speedster name in existance that was worth using was gone.

After all, Johnny Rocket was called Johnny Rocket because Rocket had been taken years ago.

So where did that leave him?

Leading the forces of justice into battle, he thought with a little smile. Then he considered that thought for a moment. He was faster than the rest of his team, he'd likely wind up leading the way into most situations less out of a desire to do so, and more simply due to them not being able to keep up. That would make him the advanced force of the team.

He scratched his head, trying to remember what the word was. He could remember it in french, which was strangly one of the languages he didn't speak.

Finally he wrote down "Vanguard".

Archer

Danny didn't quite know what to make of these guys. The Expansion team had been around a while, but many of these guys were new to the team and Danny hadn't bothered to keep up to date on it all. When Sally came to him with her "paper," she really didn't have much to offer about him beyond a name. Not surprising really, since he had only one previous outing with the team, and all he really did there was bounce some arrows of the mind controlling King Friday.

He hesitates, then signs the paper Archer. He had to set his bow and still drawn arrow down to do so. While the enthusiasm isn't something he expected from a Freedom Leaguer - even a expansion player, he did understand it. He picked up his bow again, and notched the arrow.

As the others go over what was happening, it's pretty clear that the two incidents were connected. The guys with crowns must be in charge of the knights - they may even be in charge of everything here. He definitely need to link up with any resistance that is available just to get some more info.
